This year we had 126 entrants representing Health Mates and the following was achieved: $6,144.47 raised for headspace Bankstown. 221,906 push-ups completed.
In the Sports & Fitness category we placed:
NSW (115 teams): 1st for push-ups completed and 1st for amount raised.
Australia (433 teams): 2nd for push-ups completed and 6th for amount raised.

Many of you would have already met Maybelle (May as she likes to be called), one of our Exercise Advisers here at Health Mates What you might not know though is that May has successfully competed in the recent Australian Powerlifting Alliance (APA) Sub Junior & Junior Nationals This significant event within the Australian powerlifting calendar focuses on showcasing the talents of young powerlifters across the country. These championships cater specifically to athletes in the Sub Junior (14-18 years old) and Junior (19-23 years old) age categories, providing them with a platform to compete at a national level and demonstrate their strength, skill, and dedication to the sport.
May was awarded first place in her weight division in the under 69kg class and was also awarded ‘Best Female Lifter’ overall.
The athletes compete within their weight classes and are ranked based on their total combined weight lifted across all three lifts. The highest total within each weight class determines the winner May’s results were:
• Squat - 166kg (National Junior Record)
• Bench - 85kg
• Deadlift -190 5kg (National Junior record)
• Total - 441 5kg (National Junior Record)

We’re loving seeing May in the green and gold and wish here all the best in Malta later this month
