THE DYNASTY OF Donovan McNabb

Looking back over these past months brings about a vast array of emotions. The year 2023 has been full of ups and downs for so many. Luckily, the good has outweighed the bad when it comes to the incredible force of inspiration.
Spring brought about days full of events that empowered so many people. The season blasted off with joyous fundraising at the Celebration Exotic Car Festival in Florida and raced to a big win at the 149th Kentucky Derby. The summer then sizzled with celebrity fundraisers in the Hamptons all the way to the iconic Oheka Castle.
We were thrilled to be a part of the biggest and brightest charitable causes across the country with some of the most prolific names around. From Jill Zarin and Liev Schreiber to Tiffany Haddish and more, each person we met along the way brought about an elevated message of empowerment.
Perhaps no one summed up the great year of giving back better than our newest cover star, the profound sports legend, Donovan McNabb. Praised for years of hard work, the former football quarterback played in the NFL for 13 seasons. Fans admire him for being a player as much as we adore him for his philanthropic endeavors. Three years ago, Scott Frohman, a long time South Florida resident, became intrigued with the health benefits functional mushrooms offered. At the time, Frohman and his team were avid consumers of popular mushroom-based drink powders. He and his inner circle started to share their transformative stories with each other. After selling his CBD business, and smack in the middle of the COVID pandemic, Frohman decided to pursue a new venture that he was truly passionate about and aligned more with his True North.
As Founder and CEO of Odyssey Wellness, Frohman keenly identified a white space in the industry and seized the opportunity, like a true entrepreneur. Frohman realized that most mushroom products were stuck in the dietary supplement aisles – and tasted terrible. He came up with the idea for a mushroom-based drink that truly harnessed the transformational health benefits of mushrooms while also providing the refreshing and flavorful drinking experience missing from products on the market. There was one problem. He could not mask the bitter taste and gritty mouth feel that are inherent in all mushroom products he had tried. He began an R&D process that spanned over a year and a half, which resulted in countless prototypes, until finally, Odyssey Elixir was born.
Frohman worked with an organic functional mushroom supplier that utilized an innovative extraction method. By removing the insoluble fiber, the extract becomes a concentrated dose of all the active compounds in each mushroom. The real bonus was that this method removed that bitter, muddy taste most people associate with mushroom-based products. This was a game changer, which allowed him to create the beverage he had envisioned with a taste profile that is unparalleled in the functional mushroom space.
Consumers around the country, but mostly Gen Z and Millennials, are resonating with Odyssey Elixir’s sparkling beverages due to their great taste and ability to deliver functional benefits like improved focus, mindful energy, and enhanced mood. Odyssey Elixir emphasizes an impressive dose of 2750mg of fruiting body extract from mushrooms exceeding what most commercial products deliver. Frohman is engaged in an aggressive public relations initiative to educate consumers about Odyssey’s unique nootropic and adaptogenic-rich blend of Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, L-theanine and Panax Ginseng.
“We like to think of Odyssey as a ‘new functional energy beverage’ that is sweeping the nation right now,” Frohman said. We believe consumers are drifting away from typical energy drinks that have dominated the market for decades and are really gravitating toward a beverage like Odyssey that
traverse that gap between energy and functional beverages. We know we are on to something big, and the market trends are reflecting that shift as well.” Frohman believes that Odyssey Elixir is perfect for those looking to switch from sugarladen, artificially sweetened, and alcoholic drinks to healthier, cleaner beverages that only deliver benefits.
South Florida and particularly in Miami where places like Wynwood and South Beach are tourist destinations, Odyssey’s footprint is growing rapidly. “Miami being our backyard and a playground for our target demographic has proved to be the perfect test market as we roll out to other cities across the US. From major music festivals to hot spots and night clubs to Art Basel and other high traffic events, Odyssey is extremely popular and has experienced powerful growth from passionate customers who share their love for Odyssey on social media, going viral in many instances,” added Frohman.
South Florida is not the only place where Odyssey is trending. Jill Zarin’s guests at her Luxury Luncheon in South Hampton; a star-studded event held every year got a chance to try the new mushroom beverage. “Odyssey Mushroom Elixirs was such a hit. Everyone loved it. People are looking for healthier beverage options that deliver real benefits. The mushrooms are the star ingredients. They promote focus, mindful energy and really give you a nice mood lift” said Margie Adelman, VP of Communications at Odyssey. “We were thrilled to support the event and happy everyone there had the opportunity to try Odyssey.”
The company is seeing great success. In just under two years, Odyssey Elixir’s can be found in over 5000 retail stores across the country, including Publix, select CVS, GNC, and over 700 7-11’s in Florida, Lazy Acres, Erewhon, and Wegmans supermarket chain. It can also be purchased on Amazon or on Thrivemarket.com.
Drawing on his knowledge of the science behind the transformational benefits of mushrooms, Frohman seized an opportunity to create greater access to mushroom power. Leveraging his entrepreneurial savvy and past entrepreneurial experience in the health and wellness industry, Frohman threaded the needle and executed his vision. Honoring his passion for mushrooms, health, and wellness, Frohman and his team are scaling his company across the country while staying true to his mission of helping people live better lives and having fun while doing it.

Humans are a species that function as a social group. They from the beginning started out with a collective desire to eat, sleep, hunt and play together. It took a leader in the pack to elevate evolution. Since the dawn of time, we have realized that it takes a trailblazer to accomplish the next steps not just for survival, but also for enlightenment.
It has always been evident that to achieve great success in this world you need the presence of a strong individual. Certain figures simply stand out. The likes of Nelson Mandela and Joan of Arc come to mind for example. And for many, one man emerges with equal importance.
The name Donovan McNabb to football fans across America represents confidence and resilience. His clear vision has always made him a winner both on the field and off. He is certainly known as one of the greats of the sport. Yet, what makes him part of an iconic dynasty is his inspirational mantra. He clearly holds traits that make him an effective leader who is fully capable of creating a world that is tougher than the sum of its parts.
The seminal moments in his career have provided a roadmap that lays the path for making a transformative difference to anyone who reads his biography. Mighty and unstoppable, he holds a remarkable career under his belt that has countless admirers idolizing his history.
Praised for years of hard work, the former football quarterback played in the NFL for 13 seasons primarily with the Philadelphia Eagles. Coming from Syracuse University he was selected second overall in the 1999 NFL Draft by the Eagles, where he spent 11 seasons. Other years of playing followed with the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings. Proudly being inducted to the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame in 2013 was a highlight. McNabb led his first team to eight playoff appearances, five division titles, five NFC Championship Games, and Super Bowl XXXIX.
While McNabb is inextricably linked to the notables of the sports world, he is never one to overlook the plight of other people who may not carry a level of fame like himself. He is incredibly popular amongst NFL heavyweights as he is in the community that he strives to elevate to new heights. In the vast tapestry of good deeds and entrepreneurial endeavors, he defines a great skillset to produce a constellation of extraordinary philanthropy.
He impressively showcased other career highs by being selected to six Pro Bowls. The icon was also twice named a finalist for the NFL’s Man of the Year Award and finished second in the MVP voting following the 2000 season. McNabb was additionally named to the club’s 75th Anniversary Team and during a 2013 halftime ceremony the organization retired his No. 5 jersey.
Today, McNabb and his family reside in Phoenix where the star athlete is a proud dad and dutiful husband. Together with his wife Raquel and four children, he continues to be an authority figure who is constantly revered for charitable efforts and community outreach.
“I have a platform because I am a former player, but I don’t utilize that platform to my benefit,” he says. “I want people to get to know the real me - to know Donovan who is the dad, the coach, and the mentor.”
“I’m just trying to give back and show my appreciation. I always try to lend a helping hand to those in need in any type of arena,” says McNabb. “My parents have instilled in me ever since I was a young kid that anything that I’ve been rewarded with you need to reward someone else with the same regard.”
His influence has gone from the gridiron to business models and foundations across America. Over the years he has worked with NFL Youth Football, Nike, Reebok, Campbell’s Soup, Verizon, DirecTV, Hershey’s, IHOP, Sony, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, Cadillac, and McDonalds just to name some. And all of these have been willing to support the Donovan McNabb Fund, which has pledged to raise awareness of diabetes and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the American Diabetes Association, as well as provided scholarships to many students.
“Each and every day I wake up in the morning and I’m truly blessed to be able to do what I do,” he reflects as he points out that even small actions are part of his routine philosophy to always find a way to give back.
“To be able to bring a smile to someone’s face and pay it forward by buying a person’s cup of coffee or helping somebody out in a weight room with advice are things that go a long way.”
The star athlete also proudly oversees QB Legacy, which is a national non-profit organization committed to building better men and future leaders. Here they employ strategies and solutions that impact every aspect of the QB position from field execution to physical and mental development.
“I take pride in my quarterback camp that builds leaders. Teaching them the fundamentals is something I truly value,” he expresses. “The ones who stand there strong and lead by example and bring along their teammates is the way to do it. I’ll show you by example. I also show you that it can be fun even as you continue to work and sacrifice your time. I want them to understand that every path that you go through, there is going to be adversity. There is going to be a test. You are going to have to be able to overcome that. Be strong and understand that if you are willing to take on that challenge and battle through you will get the results that you need.”
The DNA of McNabb’s dynasty is felt positively every day in communities from coast to coast. He is a man who is a legend, but one who has found even greater value in the power of using his voice to uplift and create positive change in the world.
The Celebration Exotic Car Festival is one of the premiere fundraisers in America today.
Founded in 2004 by a dedicated team of volunteers who make it so that all net proceeds are donated, the grand event since its inception has granted over $4 million to children’s charities including Make-aWish, Special Olympics, Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital and the Moffitt Cancer Center. Over the years the festival has grown to become one of the largest exotic car events in the world, attracting more than 40,000 spectators. Hundreds of children in need have been helped directly through the efforts of this event.
During sightings of exotic cars, race cars, Hollywood movie cars, celebrities and athletes there were many special moments that paid tribute to the powerful meaning behind the momentous occasion. The 2023 event marked the 20th anniversary and it had special guests that honored the week perfectly. The inspirational affair took place over four days and started with a winning round around the track with a day that featured over 300 historically significant vehicles on the waterfront boardwalk in Celebration, Florida.
Following that was a fantastic street party at Universal Studios City Walk with a showcase of DJs and entertainers and a police-escorted exotic car rally. There was even during the week a race at the world-famous new Daytona International Speedway. Over $700,000 was raised alone on the Saturday night gala that comedian Joe Piscopo hosted to benefit MakeA-Wish Central and Northern Florida.
Some of the exotic cars on display were the famous marques as Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maserati, Pantera, Pagani, Lotus, Aston Martin, and DeLorean just to name a few. Hollywood movie cars on display included the Lamborghini car from Cannonball Run, the De Lorean car from Back to the Future, another Lamborghini for Dumb & Dumber, and the original 1961 Ferrari GT car for Ferris Bueller Day Off. Notable guests throughout the week included Christopher McDonald, Paul Teutul Sr., Kato Kaelin, Jim Kelly, William Fichtner, Johnny Damon, Ed “Too Tall” Jones and many more.
One of the captivating highlights was a reunion that brought joyful tears and happy smiles. NFL legend Donovan McNabb who was instrumental to the life of Make-A-Wish alum Charlie Pena made a surprise appearance. It was the first time the pair had been together since over 17 years ago when their first meeting happened for a then 12-year-old Pena who was suffering from sickle cell anemia. At that time he was granted the opportunity to coach the Philadelphia Eagles’ minicamp for a day thanks to the efforts of the foundation.
The sweet interaction was touching and brought both men together with tremendous hugs as Donovan proclaimed, “I’m so proud of you, man.”
“I would’ve never thought that he would’ve been here right now, that I would ever see him again,” Pena, who is now healthy and living with a family of three daughters, gratefully expressed.
All and all, the Celebration Exotic Car Festival in 2023 crossed the finish line with an epic win for everyone.
The ultimate form of love is to give. No one knows this better than Jeff and Jim Ippoliti.
Two brothers driven to make dreams come true sounds like a perfect logline to a Hollywood film. Add in a splash of iconic actors, renowned musicians and sports legends all surrounded by fast cars and you have yourself the blockbuster of the summer.
Yet, this incredible description is a blissful reality and truthful words about one of the most prolific philanthropic events in America today. Together these two men created the annual Celebration Exotic Car Festival as a charitable endeavor. It came after the brothers moved to Celebration and envisioned a car show that could help children in need. A personal tragedy in their family pushed them even further to turn their sadness into a reason to produce happiness in others despite the odds.
Brotherly love in more ways than one has made the Celebration Exotic Car Festival, which is a four-day event held in Celebration, Fla., a success that benefits children’s charities with a focus on the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Their world-class event started in 2004 and has since grown to be a milestone moment in many people’s lives over the years. The money they help raise brings millions to those in need all while making attendees grateful for the experience of a lifetime. The Ippoliti brothers and an incredible volunteer board spend countless hours organizing a week that touches the hearts of thousands.
Driven to be phenomenal changemakers they are the true definition of turning your passion into purpose. We salute these true heroes who bonded together to create harmony in this world. The Ippoliti brothers for all their triumphs remain humble and hardworking to simply help those in need. Putting philanthropy in the driver’s seat of their lives is a dazzling example of how to live fully. It provides a roadmap for making a transformative difference every single day.
Here is to the marvelous magic of these two influential men.

The 149th Run of the Roses was won by Mage and jockey Javier Castellano. Owners OGMA investments, Ramiro Restrepo, Sterling Racing and CMNWLTH brought together trainer Gustavo Delgado and horse to take the track and cross the finish line with a time of 2:01:57.
It was a thrilling race that when witnessed in person brought chills to you for all the right reasons. The crowd embraced the moment fully at Churchill Downs that had a record-breaking attendance. Creating a memory for a lifetime, winners took home prizes from a smaller field than usual after five horses scratched with one including the favorite Forte. The payout for Mage was $32.42 to win, $14.58 to place, and $9.08 to show.
The colt earned $1,860,000 for the biggest win of his brief career. “He had a lot of heart,” Castellano told reporters from the winner’s circle. “He’s a little horse with a big heart.”
The other big winner was of course the fantastic fashion and red carpet looks from all the notable celebrities and fashion lovers who attended. The Kentucky Derby was a pop of color that was bold and refreshing. Every moment at the 149th Run of the Roses was what made the season of spring 2023 feel glorious.
All the looks found at Churchill Downs were a grand selection. From the red carpet, we adored the bold looks of such stars as Emmitt Smith, Randy Travis, Patrick Mahomes, Brittany Mahomes, Jack Harlow, Tosca Musk, Richie Sambora, Bill Bellamy, Larry Birkhead and daughter Dannielynn.
Of course, the day before at Kentucky Oaks it was just as much a celebration as a tribute to those who are survivors. The 149th running of the Kentucky Oaks took place on May 5. Pretty Mischievous, trained by Brendan Walsh and jockeyed by Tyler Gaffalione, took home the title
championship out of the 14th post to win a purse of $1.25 million. Pretty Mischievous entered the race with 10-1 odds and the day made it a firstever win for both Walsh and Gaffalione.
While the day was a momentous day for sports lovers, it was also a grand celebration of life. Before the big race the annual Survivors Parade had the entire crowd on their feet. Honoring the 149 survivors this year was incredibly important and a reminder of how precious life can be. To symbolize the importance and dedication to defeating cancer, nearly everyone in the stands of Churchill Downs wore symbolic pink. It made you proud to be a part of such humanity on a day like this.
“It makes me feel proud to see this kind of display,” attendee Jackson Charles told us. “Everyone knows someone who has been affected. It’s good to see people coming together here. Yes, the races are fun, but it is also great to see people caring so much for other people.
Here is to the most amazing weekend in Kentucky.
