Foldable Seat Design Scuba diving seat/box

Scenario

The user in mind is called Omar El-Alfy. He is a frequent scuba diver and currently obtained his rescue diving certificate. He goes on around five to seven diving trips a year, usually to different locations.

His problem is that he often goes to remote dive sites and struggles to keep his belongings; including his personal gear, in a safe place during dive breaks.

He also finds it difficult to find a spot to sit on and adjust his dive boots or comfortably get into his wet suit. Since he also owns a go-pro camera that he sometimes takes along, it is essential for him to sit down for a few minutes to correctly adjust camera settings.

His valuable belongings also need a place to be safely kept while he is in the water, preferably in a distinguishable fashion so that gear will not get mixed up.

He will need this combination of a box and seat to be easily foldable to fit into a car while he travels to dive destinations.

Lastly, he will need a place to keep his gear overnight during trips, since those can last around five days each.

Developed Idea/ Model

The developed idea was to create a folding concept for the seat that was inspired by the collapsable crate as well as the collapsable plastic cup. The angled support bars have hinges that fold to the insides of the bottom box,allowing the top box to collapse onto it and embed the smaller one including the bars as well to form one big plane that can be easily carried around.
