Standard Bank closes Lindley branch LINDLEY: People reacted with shock, sympathy and criticism to Standard Bankâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s decision to close more than 100 of its branches across the country. The bank said that this move is aimed at adjusting its business and retail banking platforms with the modern way that people use

the bank. As the bank closes down several of their branches, the bank said that its digital self-service channels will remain available at all times. Standard Bank said that they know the way that people bank has changed and they are changing with their users. According to the bank,

they are aligning their retail and business banking services so that people can bank at anytime, anywhere. However, this will have a huge impact on people who bank with Standard bank. FNB already closed their branch in Lindley a few years ago.

Nketoana Council misused public funds ■ Boitumelo Kgobotlo – Sunday World REITZ: An ANC-run municipality in the Free State has been accused by one of its own employees of misusing council money to benefit the governing party. The small Nketoana local municipality in north eastern Free State is facing a legal headache after general worker Mangaliso Hlongwane opened a case of fraud against it for allegedly misusing taxpayers' money. Hlongwane claims the municipality drained more than R8,000 from its Spar account to buy groceries for an ANC election campaign at Lindley ahead of the May 8 polls. A grocery receipt seen by Sunday World shows that the municipality's account was used to buy viennas, burgers, bacon, fruit juice, cokes and other groceries worth R8,043.98 for the "sub region 107 manifesto". The list of 160 items included three packets of Sta Soft, 2kg Surf washing powder and 750ml Domestos. Police spokesperson Puleng Lebakeng confirmed that a case of theft and fraud was opened at Reitz police station. "I can confirm that a fraud case has been registered and no arrests yet [sic]. Investigation still in process," said Lebakeng. In a police statement seen by Sunday World, Hlongwane said the municipality's account was never supposed to be used to buy food for the ANC . "On Thursday at about 4.42pm the Nketoana municipality private account at Spar was wrongfully used for certain individuals [or] political party [concerned] [ANC] for sub region 107 manifesto launch," reads the statement.

Onder Koloi se leierskap het die Moqhakamunisipaliteit feitlik vergaan. “Die VF Plus sal elke LUR verantwoordbaar hou vir die werk van sy of haar departement.” Tiisetso Makhele, woordvoerder van Ntombela, het by navraag gesê “ die agbare premier het ŉ span bevoegde en toegewyde aktiviste as haar LUR’e in die Vrystaat aangestel”.

Die DA het ŉ privatelede-wetsontwerp by die Vrystaatse wetgewer ingedien om misdaad te help beveg in die provinsie, wat onder misdaad steier.. Die wetsontwerp is deel van die party se bloudruk vir alternatiewe regering in die provinsie. Dit lyk asof die polisie die stryd teen misdaad in die provinsie verloor het. Letuka het verwys na die wrede moord op Monica Deniacos, DA-raadslid en haar man, Basil van Dealesville. “ Dit is net omdat die slagoffer ŉ DAraadslid en haar man was nie, maar omdat niemand meerhul lewe in die Vrystaat veilig voel nie dat gekyk word na die beoogde wetsontwerp, wat ook in die Wes-Kaap,waar die DA regeer, ingestel is. “Die wetsontwerp is n poging om op n eerlike en openlike wyse oplossings te kry vir die reuse-misdaadkrisis.” Die wetsontwerp se hele doel is om goeie betrekkinge tussen die polisie en gemeenskappe te bewerkstellig.

FAW Harrismith becomes full sales and service dealer HARRISMITH: FAW Harrismith, which opened on 4 March this year, is now a full FAW sales and service branch and part of the growing FAW South Africa dealer network. The Free State facility was previously an independent dealer that sold FAW vehicles, as well as a number of passenger car and bakkie brands. FAW South Africa however decided to purchase the dealership outright and then invested considerably in its renewal and repurposing. FAW Harrismith recently sold its first new truck since reopening - a FAW 6.130FL 3.5-ton with dropside body - to an existing FAW client who is the proud owner of a FAW 15.180FL, bought in 2015. The customer’s business is located in Tshiame, an industrial area just a few kilometres out of town on the N5 towards Bethlehem, where it manufactures and installs steel silos on farms both locally and in some neighbouring African countries. The FAW 6.130FL 3.5-tonner is

the perfect alternative to a bakkie and trailer which is sometimes used to get the company’s work done. FAW Harrismith is located on the main transport route between Johannesburg and Durban on the N3 and is also within close proximity to the N5, which makes the facility a strategic service point for the FAW brand. “A lot of FAW's were - and continue to be sold in Harrismith”, says FAW Harrismith branch manager, Louis de la Rouvière. “We have had numerous enquiries already on new trucks to both new and existing customers, and the word is spreading that we are now a fully-fledged FAW dealer”. Not only does FAW Harrismith sell new FAW trucks, but boasts a complete sales and service operation for fleet and truck owners. There is a need for truck servicing, repairs and parts to compliment our newly revamped workshop”. He adds that the current staff complement of seven people will soon expand to nine or even

The revamped dealership looks after FAW customers from the Villiers toll gate all the way to the toll plaza at Van Reenen's Pass, after which the region can also be served by FAW Pinetown. The fully automated, online system that FAW South Africa is rolling out countrywide handles parts, sales and warranties and will be implemented shortly. He says in this regard, training is ongoing in order to provide great service to truckers in the area and to those passing through, further enhancing the customer sales and service experience. De la Rouvière adds that his team are well versed in the sales field and all have local knowledge and experience. “Now, we are working on FAW trucks exclusively and attend to all FAW after sales services in the area, there are also FAW people on standby during the week and on weekends” he concludes.

Klitsie het nou al van baie skelmstreke gehoor maar die een vat die koek letterlik. Tannie se man is 'n rukkie terug oorlede. Tannie is glad nie 'n spring chicken nie en die eensaamheid werk ook nie so lekker nie. Tannie is baie betrokke by die community en so ook by die gesin waar 'n pragtige jong adonis, 6 pack, bruin gebrande bene, bonsmara bul boude, grasgroen oë en spiere wat so die Vrystaatse berge bult ook bly. Kom ons noem hom Jannie. Jannie is baie dankbaar dat Tannie die familie in nood so gewillig uithelp met kospakkies, vleis en klere. “Kan ek Tannie se nommer kry?” Tannie gee heel onskuldig die nommer en bied aan haar deur staan enige tyd oop as Jannie oor iets wil kom praat. Halfuur later kry Tannie 'n whatsApp en gelukkig het die nie bestuur nie anders het sy die ou bakkie gerol... 'n Pragtige half naked fototjie met die mooiste boodskappie. En toe weer en weer en later voel Tannie weer soos die mooiste meisie in dorp. Die chats raak langer die foto's het minder klere aan die koffie by tannie al hoe intressanter. Jannie is 43 jaar jonger as Tannie... Maar ouderdom is mos net 'n nommer en die skelm liefde blom behoorlik. Jannie wil nie meer net kom koffie drink nie hy wil kom oorslaap en liefde maak. Of Tannie enigsins getwyfel het weet Klitsie nie maar die volgende aand het onse Adonis met die mooiste lippe die tannie se wêreld behoorlik gerock... Soveel so toe Tannie die volgende oggend wakker word is Jannie al weg. En sommer met die Tannie se hele sitkamer stel matte en al ook. Tannie dink daar's ingebreek. Jannie antwoord nie en Tannie panic. Jaag met 'n spoed na Jannie se huis toe. En toe skrik Tannie... Jannie en family het soos mis voor die son verdwyn... die huis is leeg. Jannie het tannie 'n aand wat sy nooit sal vergeet nie belowe en sy het dit gekry. Sy moes nooit daai koppie koffie na die tyd gedrink het nie! Tannie te skaam om te deel dat sy met 'n slap (of stywe?) riem gevang is weier om enige iets verder te doen as om 'n nuwe sitkamerstel en TV by Lewis te loop staan koop... Ergste die hele familie is in op dit wat Jannie doen! Klitsie kan nie help om te wonder waar Jannie nou is nie en wie meubels moet gaan koop nie...

Pork Fillet with Spicy Pineapple Relish

Ingredients: 1 packet ROYCO® Sweet and Sour dry cook in sauce 250 ml greek yoghurt 1,6 kg pork fillets ½ onion, finely chopped 2 ½ – 5 ml dried chilli flakes 1 pineapple, peeled and cubed

Method Mix the contents of the packet of ROYCO® Sweet and Sour Sauce with the Greek yoghurt. Add the pork fillets and leave to marinade in the fridge for aprox. 1 hour (or overnight). Make the pineapple relish by frying the onions in oil until soft. Add the chilli and stir for 30 seconds. Add the pineapple, cook for 1 minute. Remove from the heat and season with salt and pepper. Grill in the oven for 10 minutes or until well browned and cooked through. Slice pork fillets, arrange on a platter and serve with spicy pineapple relish.
