Getting a License in Kansas

To Obtain Your License:

1. Enroll in 30-hour Pre-Exam & 30-hour Kansas Real Estate Practice Course — ReeceNichols Training will address these requirements as your pre-license school.

2. Obtain Fingerprints & Complete Background Check – You must fill out and print the Fingerprint Waiver Form (Form No. REL-150) which can be found on KREC: http://krec.ks.gov/. Send in your fingerprints ASAP to: Kansas Real Estate Commission, Jayhawk Tower, 700 SW Jackson St., Ste 404, Topeka, KS 66603-3785. Fingerprints are only good for six months.

3. Pass Exam — Call Pearson VUE for appointment: 1.800.274.4971, or schedule online: www.pearsonvue.com. You may take the exam before or after the practice course. Our school code is ED0035.

4. Apply for License — Before you apply for your license, classes, fingerprints and test must be completed. You have six months to apply after completion of the KREC course and/or passing test.

To Obtain Your Dual License:

Both Kansas and Missouri will issue licenses to REALTORS® who have first received a license in their state of residence. The process for securing a license in your non-resident state requires applying for and receiving the Certification of Good Standing from your home state, passing the state portion of the exam for the applicable state, completing the practice course (30 hours in KS, 24 hours in MO), submitting a license application and paying a fee. Getting a License in Missouri

To Obtain Your License:

1. Enroll in 48-hour Pre-Exam and 24-hour Missouri Real Estate Practice Course — ReeceNichols Training Pre-Exam and Practice Course will address this requirement as your pre-license school

2. Obtain Fingerprints with IDEMIA/IdentoGo & Complete Background Check - Enroll with MACHS at http://machs.mo.gov and provide MREC’s registration code 0004. The fee is $41.75. You will be required to submit a copy of the MACHS receipt with the license application.

3. Schedule and Pass Exam - Once the 48-Hour Pre-Exam Course is completed, you will receive an email from PSI (Missouri Real Estate Testing Center) that you are eligible to schedule the exam at: https://test-takers.psiexams.com/MORE. You will need to create an account and sign up to take the MO Salesperson Examination. You will select Site Proctored as your test format and schedule your exam. You may take the exam before or after the Practice Course. If needed, the school code is #10800.

4. Apply for License — Before you apply for your license, classes, fingerprints and test must be completed. You have six months to apply for your license after taking the pre-test 48-hour course.

Initiatives Designed to Make an Impact

At ReeceNichols, we take pride in rewarding lives – the lives of our agents, our employees and the families who put their trust in our hands. We’re proud to foster a culture that encourages and gives opportunities to our agents to give back, whether it’s on their own, through their o ce or a major company initiative.

In 2015, we launched Rewarding Lives Day as a way of expressing our gratitude to our communities. To celebrate, our agents and employees have given back by hosting food and blood drives, raising money for local schools, volunteering their time at area charities and much more.

To make as large of an impact as possible, our Community Involvement Committee, formed in 2018, designates company dollars to donate to causes near and dear to our agents’ hearts. Since 2018, we’ve benefitted dozens of organizations throughout Kansas and Missouri.

In 2020, ReeceNichols and Ronald McDonald House Charities created the Gold Key Project to raise money for families with sick children. RMHC reduces the burden of childhood illness on families by providing a convenient place to stay while their child receives critical medical care. ReeceNichols Gold Key Agents donate $100 – enough for one night’s stay at RMHC – for every home they help buy or sell from April through October, while Prosperity Home Mortgage lenders cover the cost of food for a family with every mortgage closed.

Since the pilot program’s launch, ReeceNichols has proudly donated over $1 million to RMHC of Kansas City, the Ozarks, the Four States, and Wichita – enough for 8,269 free nights for families to be near their sick children. That includes a $50,000 donation in 2021 to help create the newest RMHC-KC Family Room at Overland Park Regional Medical Center and $50,000 in 2022 to renovate four rooms at RMHC-KC’s Longfellow House.

We now have over 20 bilingual agents who not only speak the language but also understand Hispanic culture.

Our Hispanic Initiative Latino Team began in 2018 to better serve the growing Hispanic community in Kansas and Missouri . We realized there was a lack of available information about the home buying and selling process in Spanish , so we partnered with various organizations to help this segment get the information they needed .
