I had two coaches - Anup Yama and Amar Yama, who would train me every morning from 4:00 am. My mother would accompany me regularly. After my training sessions, I would head to school, come back by 4:00 pm and rush for training again at 4:30 pm. The evening classes would finish at 8:30 pm, after which I would sit and finish my studies and finally, call it a day. This was my routine for two years. When did you start taking interest in the hover board enter? Hover board and skating are both connected as they both work on body balance. Hover board started because I wanted to do something new, which was related to what I was already doing. I started that last year and now I improvise on it by watching videos on YouTube. Tell us more about it… I owned a hover board. One day, I stumbled on a video. One thing led to the other and I started with the urge to do something new. It is more difficult to do stunts here, when compared to skating, but life is all about challenges and making yourself better.

One needs perseverance and a whole lot of patience. Skating vs the hover board- what is your personal favourite? I would pick the hover board as it is way tougher when compared to artistic skating.

How do you balance studies and sports? It was difficult initially, but now I am used to it since it has been a couple of years. The secret is to be totally present wherever you are. So, when I am in school, I try and give my 100% to it and when I am practising on my hover board, my entire focus is on it.

All this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of your parents – how much credit do you give to them? It is all possible because of my parents. My mom used to come with me to the ring every morning and my father was kind enough to pay the fee. Hover board, of course, is something which I practise myself at home, so now it is less taxing for them. What else do you enjoy doing? I usually sit and study as that is the priority now or you will find me meddling with my Rubix cube.

You are known for your stunts on it. How do you improvise? I try new things and practise them time and again, until I get it right.

Both these need a lot of body balance – how do you manage? Yes, because primarily the body needs to be still. I had difficulties when I started learning it, but practice is the only key. I practise the hover board every day, as there is no other way to do it – it is a day by day learning that helps us get somewhere. I am quite sure that if some one without training gets on to the board, he/she will definitely fall because one needs to get adapted to it.
