It was truly a devastating experience to meet that granddaughter on the day of her death. It was on that day, I made a vowed to the Lord that this would not happen again. God reminded me of the vision and the plan He has for my family. Sometime we make excuses. We say my child is not a Christian; I’m not the mother or father; I don’t have any control in how my grandchildren are raised. Well that’s just not true. We nurture them in so many ways, physically, emotionally and, mentally, why not spiritually? Scripture tells us that Timothy was raised by his father’ who was Greek and not a believer, his mother and grandmother. His mother and grandmother were his first teachers of scripture and the lives they lived reinforced

the scriptures they taught. As a child, many years before meeting the Apostle Paul, Timothy’s life was evident of his childhood teachings. Paul reminded him of that in 2 Timothy 3:14-15 (NIV) 14 “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” I can remember sitting at both of my grandmother’s feet listening to their stories.
