MRS JANELLE ANDERSON
The feature of Redeemer Lutheran College that will forever be engrained in my heart is the warmth, care and support of all those in the community for one another.
I wasn’t expecting that! I have been on an amazing journey this year with the privilege of leading the College since Easter through until the end of the year. I have grown to appreciate the amazing diversity of the community, the rich and vibrant programs and opportunities which you will be able to read about in the pages of this important record of the College history.
The feature of Redeemer Lutheran College that will forever be engrained in my heart is the warmth, care and support of all those in the community for one another. Wherever I moved throughout the College I would be warmly greeted and encouraged in open and thoughtful conversation whether by staff or student alike. Even our littlest of students would have a smile and a generous hello, andeven‘MayGodBlessyou”.
As we reflect on the year that has just past for our College we have indeed understood that the plans to serve our greater community have been planted through Christ and all his blessings. Much has been achieved through the commitment and dedication of so many along the journey and it will continue to take a committed team of people called to serve God to provide student
student centred, character filled education through Christ hereatRedeemer.
No person can really exist in isolation, and here at Redeemer Lutheran College we are blessed that this is the case. Our lives are enriched each day through the interactions and opportunities that exist. But pivotal to all of this is the precious gift we receive from God of his grace and unending love.
I return to the most memorable of all reminders in this time of reflection: - to have hope. Hope is the quality of character that sustains belief under seemingly impossible situationswhen kindness seems impossible or poverty inevitable; or when the world seems cruel and life unbearable. People encounter sources of hope in the imagination, in the words and examples of others, and in the natural wonders we witness every day. At Redeemer and beyond, I pray each of you embrace this Christ-centred hope. Hope does not extinguish suffering but sustains the belief that there can be anendtoit, ifnotinyourownlife, theninthefuture.Andso, hope propels us into action, encouraging us to live out the valueofbeingChrist-led.
I will forever treasure my Tree gift from the students and staff of Redeemer, relating back to my very first address in April, when I shared the link of trees for me as a part of my core foundation - The Anderson Crest - an Oak tree. How amazing was it that the Lift concept would have such deep and meaningful links for all of us. I have always been drawn to how the tree analogy aligns with new beginnings and new life. As you will recall when I arrived, I had taken cuttings from some wellestablished plants and placed them in water to be an example of my past experiences and knowledge that I could share with the community. But as cuttings, I emphasised they had no roots, unlike all of the current members in the Redeemer community. This fresh start or new beginning depended on the nurturing and nourishment I and others would receive from each member of the community. The placing of the plants in water for me was a biblical symbol. From Psalm 1 verse 3‘That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf doesnotwither’.
I have experienced first-hand, this precious gift and nurturing offered in this Redeemer community. JustasinmyshorttimehereIhaveseenmyplantcuttingsrootsflourish,Itoowillleaveknowingmy life has flourished from knowing you and everyone in the community. I pray today you too can say this. Flourishing is a broad concept that reflects a holistic perspective on living a happy or ‘good’ life. Flourishing encompasses many feelings, activities, and thoughts that make people happy and whole. I would encourage all individuals and families to see the importance of this concept and to celebrateflourishing.MayRedeemerasacommunityandallwithincontinuetoFlourish.

As we turn the pages of this yearbook, we’re not just looking back at the moments we’ve shared; we’re celebrating the connections that have defined our school year. This year, more than ever, our sense of community has been our guiding light, and our connections with one another have been the foundation of every achievement and every challenge we’ve faced.
Our College events have been a testament to our community spirit. The Lunar New Year celebration, Lift Gala performances, sports games, Creative Arts performances, spelling bees, camps, movie nights and The Redeemer Festival, just to name a few, have further strengthened our connections as a Redeemer Community. Whether we were cheering from the stands or working side by side on projects, the camaraderie we shared was evident. Each event has been a reminder of how we come together to support and uplift one another. The energy and enthusiasm we brought to these gatherings have forged bonds that will last a lifetime. These experiences have shown us that our collective efforts can create something truly special, echoing the truth found in Philippians 2:4, "Let each of you look not only to hisowninterests, butalsototheinterestsofothers."
This year, we have also continued to build on and nurture the connection between Redeemer Lutheran College and Our Saviour Lutheran Church. We have re-introduced volunteer Bible readers for our Prep students, collaborated on the Helping Hands food van, joined together for worship, created opportunities for students and families to engage in the church community as well as the amazing congregational volunteers who dedicated their Monday and Wednesday mornings to make coffee for the Redeemer staff and parents. These examples illustrate how a strong connection creates a more integrated and supportive community.
As we look to the future, let’s carry forward the lessons we’ve learned about connection and community. The friendships we’ve made, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the joy we’ve shared will serve as the foundation for our future endeavours. No matter where life takes us, we’ll always have the memories of this year to remind us of the power of coming together.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. Your presence, your support, and your spirit have made this year unforgettable. Here’s to the connections we’ve made and the community we’ve built—may it continue to inspire and uplift us for years to come. As 1 Thessalonians 5:11 encourages us, "Therefore encourage one another and build one anotherup, justasyouaredoing."
This year has been a fantastic year of growth in the Faith and Service space at the College. Worship Band has continued to expand, with performances happening almost every second week, exciting new initiatives and different ways of serving our wider community. Our main focus for the year was to create a worship space at the school that created a sense of engagement and inclusivity. We did this through things like the nativity scene play for the Christmas service, adding more songs to the worship band repertoire and including a wider range of speakers for chapel services. Another amazing achievement for us this year was Walk My Way Ukraine. Altogether, Redeemer raised $3241 with 23 Redeemer staff and students participating. This was a fantastic outcome, and we would like to thank everyone for their contribution whether it was donating or participating ontheday, thankyousomuch.
As our year comes to a close, we would just like to share a Bible verse and a quick message that we have found very powerful throughout this year. Proverbs 3:5–6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths”. Have trust and faith in God, knowing that he has an almighty plan for you and will walk withyouthroughyourlifeeverystepoftheway.
ItwasanabsolutejoytodeliverdevotionstoboththeSenior and Junior School, as well as participate in formal ceremonies and assemblies. We thoroughly enjoyed reading Bible passages and prayers throughout the year, as well as sharing God’s word with the wider community. We would just like to say a massive thank you to Mrs Lopez and Mrs Bianchi who have both supported us an enormous amount. We would not have been able to achieve all of what we did without them. We would also like to thank the Redeemer community for allowing us to be your Faith and Service captains of 2024, it has been an amazing journey that both ofushaveenjoyedfromstarttofinish.
To the Class of 2024, we thank you for the wonderful support and energy you all have given towards the Redeemer community. Thank you for the many contributions you all have made through your years at the College whether that was through doing devotions, participating in worship band, being in the audio-visual team and donating items and making sandwiches for Helping Hands. Best of luck class of 2024 with your future plans and endeavours!
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6

Growth [grohth]
Noun
1.
The act or process, or manner of growing; development; gradual increase.
It's interesting to think about how we've been growing our entire lives and how that process never truly stops. Growth isn't about a clear beginning or end; it's a continuous journey. So why did we choose "growth" as our theme at the end of last year? After all, we experience it every day.
In our roles this year, we were focused on fostering growth into the Redeemer community so that individuals could feel empowered to achieve their full potential. Starting with our youngest pupils, we planted sunflowers in the junior school as a symbol of growth and made meaningful connections with them when we visited at lunchtimes. In the senior school, we shared our wisdom through our weekly Thursday messages, and our everyday connections with individual students. We also worked behind the scenes, serving the community through planning committees and formal school events. The example that we set, both formal and informal, is a key part of our legacy as the 2024 College Captains.
When we chose growth as our theme, we imagined that by the end of our captaincy, we would have fully grown into our roles, ourselves, and our potential. But we quickly realised we were wrong. Growth isn't a destination; it's an ongoing process. There is always more to learn, more to accomplish, and more to be inspired by.
Since 1980, Redeemer has grown through the inspiration of four generations of student leaders. As College Captains, we've drawn inspiration from those who have led before us, adding our unique and personal vision to foster growth within the school. But as our time ends, it's time for the next —those who have been inspired by us—to step forward and add to the momentum we have created this year.
Proverbs 3:5-6 reads, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight.” To us, this Bible passage means that we must trust in God and let Him guide us toward the right path that He has planned for us. For us who are graduating, we must have this trust in Him, guiding us toward our future endeavours. Further, we encourage the leaders of 2025 to trust in Him as they step into their captaincy roles.
While it is the end of our captaincy, it is certainly not the end of our leadership journey. This role has given us the opportunity to learn so much about ourselves, our strengths, and how to be the voice of inspiration. We are confident that the lessons we've learned will stay with us as we navigate whatever the future holds. For this, we are deeply grateful to those who entrusted us with this responsibility.
Firstly, we want to say thank you to the staff, students and everyone who has made this year so special. We are so grateful to have an amazing group of peers around us, supporting us through our captaincy. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Wright for your continuous support and enthusiasm as you guided and shaped us into the leaders we are. To Mr Cornish, thank you for your encouragement, not only at the start of our captaincy, but the whole way through with your legacy. And thank you to Mrs Anderson, your support has empowered us to create meaningful change. We are so grateful for the opportunity to represent the College and our amazing community we call Redeemer.
To the Class of 2025 and all who follow in the years to come, we encourage you to embrace inspiration with Curiosity, Courage, and a Christ-led spirit. Embrace every opportunity that comes your way during high school, while continuing to create a welcoming and safe environment for yourself and others. Lift our school and community with your passion, and above all, keep growing.
To our Class of 2024, we wish you all the best.
May you be happy and fulfilled in what you pursue, may you have loved ones and community around you always, may you notice the small things, and may your Hope Remain in Christ.

Each year in Lavarack House, we focus on a particular theme. The 2024 theme was ‘Lift each other up’ linking with our College 2024 theme of ‘Lift’. The Bible verse that accompanied this theme was 1 Thessalonians 5:11“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” God intended us to use our individual gifts and talents to build each other up, which has been a key focus of Lavarack House. The 2024 theme was also connected with the further development of our ‘Lavarack Legacies’, the overarching values that inform our behaviour as members of Lavarack House, courage, service and effort.
In House assemblies, we unpacked the concept of an ‘Us’ story, specifically Redeemer and Lavarack’s ‘Us’ story. An ‘Us’ story involves exploring who a group is, why they exist, and what their history is. Identifying shared values and purpose through an ‘Us’ story helps develop a sense of belonging and connection to something bigger than yourself. Students were reminded that they are part of a story - the Redeemer and Lavarack story. Many people are currently sharing and have previously shared this story with them. Students were encouraged to think about the legacy they want to leave in their own Redeemer/Lavarack story. Through this process we were also blessed to hear the stories of several staff members who are deeply connected to the community and have shared a long history at Redeemer. They told their own ‘Us’ story and outlined what the Redeemer community means to them. This process of defining what we stand for as a community and creating a culture by living our values through action will be an ongoing process.
The annual Interhouse Carnivals were completed with Lavarack demonstrating the enthusiastic House Spirit we are known for. Recykle and Pavement Art were also contested with our athletic and artistically gifted students having the opportunity to ‘lift’ the rest of us up by using their gifts and talents. A particular highlight this year was the Interhouse ‘Chaser’ Competition, a modified version of the popular TV game show. Our academic students jumped at the chance to compete against the other Houses in this competition and represented Lavarack with pride.
Our 2024 House Captains, Sharon Jin and Luke Endres, put a particular emphasis on involvement and initiative as part of their leadership goals. They wanted to make sure that they displayed these concepts through their actions and words as well as lead the rest of the student body in carrying this out. It was great to see Sharon and Luke set a vision and bring it to fruition with many students involving themselves in different House related activities. Initiative was also achieved with students demonstrating leadership in their Home Groups by creating and leading devotions for House assembly.
In closing, I would like to thank all Lavarack students who lifted the House community and, in turn, the wider Redeemer community, by living out the Lavarack Legacies through their everyday actions. In particular, the House Captains, Sharon Jin and Luke Endres who have created their own unique legacy. A legacy of involvement and initiative, belonging and connection. A huge thankyou to our wonderful Lavarack Home Group teachers, Mrs Dart, Mrs Logan, Mr MacDonald, Mr MacLean, Dr Rayner and Mr Wenke, who do a fantastic job mentoring students in each Home Group. I am proud to say that the members of the 2024 Lavarack community have left the ‘red shirt’ in a better place.
As House Captains of Lavarack, we adopted the theme "Lift Each Other Up," focusing on the “Three I’s”: Innovation, Initiative, and Involvement. Throughout the year, we encouraged our House to embrace these values to strengthen our close-knit community.
Our year kicked off with the Swimming Carnival, where Lavarack dressed as various red aquarium creatures. The grandstands were filled with excitement and pride as we showcased our loud cheers and impressive swimming skills. Although we didn’t win, our efforts and the stronger bonds formed were the true highlights of the day. Next was the Cross Country Carnival, themed "Superheroes." Dressed in red capes and hero masks, Lavarack raced through the tracks and achieved impressive results. As per usual, Lavarack had a strong team of students, who showed their immense courage, determination, and of course, strength. Once again, Lavarack clinched the win for the Tug-of-War. Although we didn’t win overall, it was an excellent effort and a close competition with the other Houses.
The Athletics Carnival was a bitter-sweet moment as it was the last for our Year 12s. However, that didn’t stop us from having fun and giving it our all. As the House’s tradition, we started the carnival strong with everyone participating in the march to the grandstands. Dressed in space-themed outfits, we enjoyed the track and field events over the two days. Our last two events were the Pavement Art and Recykle Competitions. For Pavement Art, we sent out our best artists to represent our three teams, who created impressive works on the theme "Journeys." For Recykle, we encouraged students to take initiative by nominating themselves to show involvement.
It has honestly been an honour for us to be given this opportunity to experience and grow our leadership skills. Being a House Captain has taught us many important values such as resilience, patience, and empathy. Our experience has also helped us develop a deeper sense of responsibility, teamwork, and connections with others. We will forever cherish the memories we made as part of this small, loving community.
Finally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the teachers and students of Lavarack for their outstanding contributions. We are especially grateful to our Head of House, Mr Jeffes, for his unwavering support and guidance, which was crucial to our growth. Being Lavarack's House Captains has been a rewarding and honourable experience, and we thank everyone for making it memorable.
To all the younger students and future House Captains of Lavarack, embrace every challenge, stay curious, and never hesitate to ask for help. Your journey here is just beginning, and each step you take is building a brighter future. Believe in your potential, you've got this. Good luck and all the best in your future endeavours!
Class of 2024, our journey together has come to an end. Over the years, we have grown, learned, and supported each other through countless experiences. As we move on, let’s take with us the lessons we’ve learned and the connections we’ve made. Wishing everyone success and fulfillment in whatever comes next.
Mansfield House in 2024 has continued to be an incredible community filled with a diverse group of incredible young people. A core concept for this year has been ‘Many parts, One body”. This concept focuses on the individual strengths, talents and skills which each member of the Mansfield community bringstocreatetheonebody.
1Corinthians12:12 “Thereisonebody, butithasmany parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is thesamewithChrist”.
Over the year we have seen many individuals step up and use their talents and strengths to help Mansfield succeed, whether in the Swimming Carnival, Cross Country or Athletics Carnival. For Mansfield it has been a year of close seconds, not winning a major trophy. However, we had great success in the Pavement Art competition, winning the overall prize after placing first for the Mixed Years and Middle Yearscompetition.
This year, Mansfield students have stived to maintain and exceed the level of House Spirit in our community.Throughcheeringandencouragingtheir peers in carnivals, to making props and decorations, Mansfield student have lent their gifts and talents to make this the wonderful community it is. I thank each member of Mansfield for their contributions to the House and encourage them to remember 1 Corinthians 12:26 “If one part is honoured, every part shares in its joy”. Ending the year in second place for both House Spirit and the overall House Trophy gives us a strong foundation to build on in 2025, and I believe together we will be able to achieve great success.
Thank you to this year’s Mansfield House Captains, Hannah McLean and Siddhant Sachdeva. You have led with enthusiasm, encouraging and supporting your fellow Mansfield students and have contributed greatly to the House Spirit, which continues to grow and develop. We thank them for their significant effort and contributions throughout the year and wishthemallthebestintheirfutureendeavours.
Mansfield’s departing Year 12s will leave a lasting legacy with the younger students they have mentored and been positive role models for. Thank you for your leadership in Home Groups which has developed supportive and caring environments for all. You have been nurturing and valuable members of Mansfield House. As you move onto new challenges ahead, wewishyouallthebestandencourage you to be guided by the values that have definedyourtimeinMansfieldHouse.
The Mansfield community would not be the caring and supportive environment it is without the hard work and dedication of the wonderful teachers. Thank you to Mrs Etchells, Mr Hemmadi, Mr Hsu, Mrs Ruthenberg and MissZingelmannforallyourworkguidingand supporting students’ growth and wellbeing this year. Your work is valued and greatly appreciated.
This year has been eventful and exciting. We have seen incredible participation across Swimming Carnival, Athletics Carnival, Pavement Art, Cross Country, and the new Chaser competition. Our theme this year focused on“unity”asaHouse, andwearegladtosaythatthestaffandstudentshaveexceededourexpectations.
Our 2024 year started off with the Swimming Carnival with the theme of “Under the Sea,” we saw many members of Mansfield step out of their comfort zones by entering races despite any fears they may have had in the pool. This same spirit was shown in both Cross Country and Athletics Carnival. Being Mansfield House Captains has been an extremely rewarding experience, being able to lead a diverse group of students and help foster a fun environment. We are incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to leadMansfieldHouseandwouldliketowishthefutureCaptainsgoodluck.
Over our term as leaders, we have learned that leadership is not just making decisions or directing others; it’s about listening, encouraging and working as a team. We learnt how to give a devotion and speak in front of our House, andhowto“hypeeveryoneup”forHouseevents.
We would like to thank our Head of House, Mr Anderson, who has guided us throughout this journey. Thank you for supporting us - we appreciate everything you have done. We also want to thank every member of Mansfield.Withoutyourengagement,noneofourachievementswouldhavebeenpossible.Wewouldalsoliketo thank the other House Captains and Heads of House for their hard work and strong competition. Thank you everyoneforafantasticyear!
To the younger students: never underestimate the power of participation. Get involved in as many activities as you can, because each one is an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with others. And you are only at school for a short time, so don’t waste it. We encourage you to step out of your comfort zone; that's where the most meaningful experiences happen. Remember, being part of a House is about more than just winning. It’s about buildingfriendships, developingyourcharacter, andleavingapositiveimpact.
To the Class of 2024, thank you for such a memorable final year. We wish you all the best for your future endeavorsyou are all amazing! We leave you with a quote from Dr

What a year it has been for Ramsay House! We have triumphed in all three Interhouse sports carnivalsCross Country, Swimming, and Athleticsdemonstratingnotonlyourathleticprowess, butalso our unwavering spirit of unity. These victories are a testament to the hard work, determination, and teamworkthatdefineRamsay.
A special mention goes to our incredible House Captains, Ellie Koppens and Eli Hadwin, whose leadership has been nothing short of inspiring. Their commitment to bringing everyone together, organisingCaptain’sChallenges, andfosteringasense of camaraderie during House assemblies has truly madeadifference.Theirpassionanddedicationhave beenthedrivingforcebehindourcollectivesuccess.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our Home Group teachers. Their holistic support of our students has been exceptional. They have not only guided our students academically but have also nurtured their emotional and social wellbeing, helping them to grow into well-rounded individuals. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we are deeplygratefulforallthatyoudo.
Aswereflectonthisyear, letusrememberthewords of Ecclesiastes 4:9-10: "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up." This verse beautifully encapsulates the spirit of Ramsay House - working together, lifting each other up,andachievinggreatthingsasaunitedteam.
Recykle was an amazing opportunity for Seniors in the House to come together and cycle for Ramsay House. The team of 12 came through to get another well-deservedwin!
Pavement Art finished our year of competition with some incredible pieces of art that were created in only 90 minutes. The theme for 2024 was ‘Journey’; these teams of four showed amazing skills of collaboration, creativity, problem solving and time management.

Leading Ramsay House has been nothing short of an incredible journey. We, as House Captains, have been blessed to witness great success within the Ramsay community, winning all three of the Interhouse sports carnivals!AndthissuccesscomesdowntotheparticipantmindsetofRamsaystudents, whichhasbeenfostered throughacaring, friendlyandgivingcommunity.
Weliketothinkthatthesefamiliartraitshavebeendevelopedbyincorporatingfunandinclusivegamesduring Home Groups and House assemblies. From egg-and-spoon races to dodgeball competitions, the Ramsay cohort has been competing for the highly coveted “Quack Cup”. Not only has this encouraged friendly-based competition, but it has instilled confidence within every single Ramsay student. By partaking in fun and sometimesevenludicrousgames, wehavepreparedRamsayforallkindsofeventsandcompetition.
This preparation, although unconventional, has been highly effective. And the simple reason behind this success is that competing, having fun and getting active, releases truckloads of dopamine! And dopamine is whatmakesushappy.Afterrunningarace, youmayfeelphysicallyexhausted, butguesswhat?Youcompleteda race! And that’s something to be happy about - proud of as well. By establishing competition as a fun ideal, and promoting participation over anything else, we have encouraged Ramsay to unlock their full potential. And although this success might not always be shown through trophies and medallions, it is there. It is inside us. It is inherentlypersonal,butitisalsocommunity-based.
Ramsay students participate for themselves, and for the greater good of Ramsay. And when you’re part of a family, andyou’vegottheteamattheforefrontofyourmind, youcan’tgowrong.Livingforothers, havingacrack, tryingyourhardest-that’swhatRamsayisallabout.Andfor2024,thatiswhereoursuccesshasderivedfrom.

As our paths diverge and we explore life after school, we encourage the Class of 2024 to reflect upon the security and guidance that Redeemer has provided. Be grateful for the interactions that you’ve orchestrated, the experiences that you’ve gained and the skills that you have learnt. Apply your knowledge courageously and continue to grow as brilliant human beings.
Wilson has enjoyed an outstanding year, embodying the message of Corinthians 12:12: "One body, many parts." By living out our House motto, "What we nurture, we continue to grow," we have thrived and achievedallourgoalsfor2024.Undertheleadership of Lilly and Jamie, Wilson has thrived by embracing our GEM core values of Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness. Guided by God, we have thrived as Christ-led learners, reached our goals, and nurtured unity and positive connections within our House community.
Wilson began 2024 with impressive energy, securing first place in overall House Spirit at both the Swimming Carnival and Cross Country, demonstrating our unity and fierce competitiveness. The Athletics Carnival was a defining moment, whereourcollectiveeffortledustoacleansweepof first place in house spirit for the year and second place in performance for the carnival, showcasing ourdualstrengthinspiritandachievement.
Building on this success, we excelled further by winning the academic Chaser competition, consistentlypushingtheChaserbacktosealthewin, highlighting our academic excellence. In Pavement Art, we highlighted our versatility, securing overall second place and tying for first in the Middle Years division, proving that Wilson is a formidable force acrossallareasofcompetition.
This success would not have been possible without the passionate leadership of Lilly and Jamie, and our steadfast faith and hope in Christ. His guidance, strength, and love were crucial in helping us elevate asaHouse.
I am incredibly proud to be the Head of Wilson House, as we have consistently embodied the motto "We become what we behold," as noted by Colonel Sir Leslie Orme Wilson, in both House competitions and College interactions. I am excited to see what wecanachievetogetherwiththisspiritin2025.
Being the Wilson House Captains has been one of the most fulfilling roles for both of us. At the start of our captaincy, we worked with Mrs Johansen, our Head of House, to set achievable goals for this year. At the end of our captaincy journey, we are proud to say we have accomplished all our goals. Our main goal was to foster an encouraging and uplifting community so more people would feel comfortable being courageous and participate in war cries, sporting events and other House competitions, like the Interhouse Academic Chaser, Recykle and Pavement Art. One of our themes for Wilson House is ‘what we nurture is what we grow’. Fostering relationships through homegroup and prop making has reflected through our spirit as we rose from fourth last year to FIRST for House Spirit at every carnival!
Coming first for House Spirit is a huge achievement and we couldn’t be prouder of the courage, commitment and resilience Wilson House has demonstrated this year. We’ve learnt to lead by example, not just when we’re leading weekly assembly, but also when we’re walking around the school, how we treat people, and the importance of positivity in the school community. Being extra positive and brave has encouraged Wilson Warriors to be brave and mirror a positive mindset.
Another thing we were extremely proud of was our 2nd performance at the athletics carnival. With Wilson over the years being known as a less sporty house, to see everyone give it a go and overall get a good number of points was amazing to see.
Our success this year has shown us the power of unity and determination. It was truly inspiring to see everyone step up, support each other, and contribute to the house in their own unique ways. Whether it was through performances on the field or in the pool, spirited cheering, and simply showing up and giving it their all.
As we look back on our time as captains, we feel a great sense of gratitude. We are grateful for the amazing support of our fellow students, the guidance of Mrs Johansen, and the countless moments of comradery that made this year so special. The bonds we’ve formed and the memories we’ve created will stay with us long after we hand over our roles.
To the future leaders of Wilson House, we encourage you to continue the legacy of fostering a positive and inclusive community. Remember that what we nurture is indeed what we grow. Lead with kindness, passion, and a belief in the potential of every member of the house. If there’s one thing this year has taught us, it’s that when we come together with a shared purpose, there’s nothing we can’t achieve.
To the Class of 2024, we just want to thank all of you for being such amazing peers and for being such amazing people to have throughout our schooling journey. We wish you guys luck in all your future endeavors.

RunningtheAcademicMarathon
“This is a marathon, not a sprint.” That is what we tell people when we want them to pace themselves and prepare for a long journey. The truth is: I hate running. This advice does not motivate, encourage or inspire me. But when it comes to learning, the intent in this expression is valid. Learning is indeed a lifelong pursuit; not a moment in time. Just like a marathon, there are times in our learning when we are running up hill into a head wind. In other stages, we will experience a boost of energy and feel like we are gliding over the track. The key is to cherish every moment; even if you hate running. Enjoy the highs and remember that the lows build resilience and character.Mindsetiscritical.
It's also important to remember that you are running your own race. Different people experience different challenges at different times. We have different strengths. It’s tempting to want to be at the front the whole time, but you must run your own race. Break it intostages.StriveforaPB.That’sthegoal.
FortheClassof2024,itmayseemlikethemarathonis finally over. It’s not. You are still running, still learning, justonadifferentpath.Ithasbeenaprivilegetoplaya tiny support role in your learning. The Redeemer community is incredibly proud of you. You have maintained our reputation for delivering quality graduates! Your results have been the highest achieved by any cohort since the introduction of the ATARsysteminQueensland.
Our reputation in NAPLAN continues to go from strength to strength. In 2024, we were once again listed as one of the top performing schools in Queensland. This is testament to quality teaching and learning across the College and recognises the important partnerships between the College and our families. Students can not achieve alone. It takes a team of supporters to get the very best out of our learners.Thankstotheteachers, staffandfamilieswho have continued to support our students in all they do andinwhotheyare.
Despite the ongoing success evident in our Graduate and NAPLAN results, there is more to do. Like any athlete, we are looking for waystobebetter, searchingforanadvantage, that additional 1% that gives our students the edge. Our middle years programs are being refined to ensure students have the best opportunity to perform at the highest level. Transitioning from Year 6 to Year 7 can indeed feel like you are sprinting all year. So, we are working to ensure students can change gears throughout the middle years andmaintaintheiracademicstamina.
Learning is lifelong. Although, I’m not a fan of running; I do love to learn. I love being a part of the Redeemer community. Our core business is learning and at the heart of our learning is God. God is in the grandstands watching every step we take. He is cheering us on. Guiding us when it’s tough and celebrating with us when we achieve our goals.
This year has been marked by a wealth of opportunities that have allowed students to explore their potential, develop new skills, and grow in various areas of their lives.
Our Pastoral Care system provides many opportunities for student growth and wellbeing. From the spirited House events like Swimming, Athletics, RecyKle and Cross-Country Carnivals, to creative endeavours such as the Pavement Art competition, students have been encouraged to showcase their unique gifts and talents and participate at all levels. Beyond these competitions, personal, social, emotional, and spiritual development is fostered through Home Group, Chapel Assembly and Learning Mentor Time. A key tenet of this is evident through devotions, where students participate in sharing a message with their Home Group, House and for some courageous students, the whole Senior School.
Each year provides new opportunities through student leadership. The captaincy team’s focus for 2024 was Growth, with emphasis on building connections with the Year 6 Captains throughout key junctures of the year, such as Year 4-12 Cross Country Carnival. The Year 12 cohort enhanced their involvement by volunteering to visit Junior School students during lunch breaks, reading books to Preps during Book Week, presenting to Year 4 students during the Bullying No Way National Week of Action, and teaching Year 6 students House war cries during core skills time.
Opportunities for involvement and leadership have also spanned all year levels. Students volunteered for various events, including sporting activities, College tours, fundraising activities and conferences such as Alive 2032+, You Are Not Alone and the Year 10 Ecumenical Youth Gathering. Similarly, many students represented their Home Group in Student Council. These experiences underscore the importance of taking initiative and stepping up when opportunities arise.
One of the standout experiences again this year has been the Year 9 Mt Binga Outdoor Education program. This fourweek program provides a unique opportunity for students to develop independence, perseverance, and teamwork. The challenges faced during this program were designed to help them grow both personally and as part of a team. The values of integrity, initiative, and gratitude they learned are invaluable and will continue to influence their lives in years to come. Similarly, the Year 11 Leadership camp and Year 7 camps provided important opportunities to connect as a cohort and develop leadership capacity, foster team spirit and push themselves to new heights at the beginning of the school year.
As we close this chapter and look forward to the next, it is time for the Year 12s to reflect on their whole schooling career. To the Year 12s – you have inspired others, have been courageous and have been committed to making the most of the opportunities afforded to you. Your legacy is one of lifting others up through kindness, laughter, competition and academic excellence. I hope you look back on your schooling journey and remember the friendships, joyful moments and successes, and are proud. Moving forward, I encourage you to continue recognising and seizing opportunities as they arise.
Thomas Edison purported that “opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” While many opportunities require hard work and determination, many are ready and available for us if we are willing to take them. For all students returning next year, I encourage you to take some time to consider the opportunities you took this year as well as those you may have missed. As you prepare for the upcoming year, let this reflection fuel a renewed commitment to engage in the diverse opportunities the college has to offer.
I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Pastoral Care Leaders, Learning Mentor Coordinators, Curriculum Leaders, teachers, nurses, counsellors, Learning Enhancement, co-curricular and support staff at the College. Your tireless effort, care and support of our students truly makes Redeemer a special place to learn and grow. To the College Captains, Zac Chan, Emily Henderson, Amali Kordis and Dean Thurstun, thank you for your outstanding service to Redeemer Lutheran College this year. You have been an inspiration for your peers and have served with dignity, enthusiasm and care for the whole Redeemer community.
Mr Jono Pukallus
Our Year 7s this year have been, what I would call, “stretching in their own skin”. As a cohort, they are becoming more and more aware, every day, of who theyareandhowtheydo“life”.LikeJacob, intheBible, theyarepassionateanddetermined.Theywrestlewith things: changes from Junior School to Senior School, learning their way around, organisational skills, due dates and assessment loads, relationships, dealing with big emotions, the list goes on and on. But one of the greatest things about this group is that they do it together.
Right from the start, continuing Redeemer students and student who are new to the College this year started interacting and forming new friendships. Year 7 Camp was a great opportunity to strengthen these relationships and to learn more about themselves throughthechallengestheywerepresentedwith. The Catapult Quest, “Rescue Me” and the Flying Fox were some of the highlights that definitely challenged the students in a range of ways, personally and as team players.
It has also been great to witness all of the extracurricular talents of our Year 7s this year. From sporting excellence at GBC, state and nationallevels, tothebrillianceoftheLiftGala music concert, to the depth of variety of the Creative Arts performances in The Lorax and the In the Spotlight events, our Year 7s have shown that they are an integral part of our Collegecommunity.
Redeemer is a Restorative School, which means that whenthereisnegativebehaviourorconflict, wefollow a process which seeks to restore relationships and learn how to move forward positively together. One of the joys of being in my position this year has been to see students who have been in conflict restoring their own relationships, even before we have begun our more formal process. It speaks a lot to the integrity of this cohort, which is something we have been nurturingthisyear.InJKRowling’s“TheGobletofFire”, Dumbledore says “…andtherewillbeatimewhenwe mustchoosebetweenwhatiseasyandwhatisright.”

Redeemer is an incredibly rich, caring and unique community. As I reflect on the amazing time I have had as part of this community, I am drawn to one of myfavouritequotesfromDr.Seuss’s TheLorax:“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing's goingtogetbetter.It'snot.”Ihaveseenthissimple,yet powerful message lived out by students, staff and parents of Redeemer on countless occasions, and as I prepare to say goodbye, it feels more relevant than ever.
Redeemer is not just a school; it’s a community – one in which caring is at the heart. Over the years, I’ve witnessedcountlessactsofkindness, compassion, and dedication which have continued to shape and support the incredible culture that exists here. It’s this beautiful sense of faith-filled community that makes Redeemer such an extraordinary place, and it is why things do get better here—because so many people careawholeawfullot.
In my time as a Year 5 teacher, Dean of Learning and then Head of Junior School, I’ve had the privilege of seeing our students grow not only in knowledge, but also in character. I’ve watched them embrace challenges, support one another, and contribute to our community in ways that make me incredibly proud. And I’ve seen the work that has been put in by the support crew around each of those students to makeithappen.
As I reflect on the power of our community, I am reminded of Colossians 3:12, which says, "Therefore,as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." These words perfectly encapsulate what our community is all about and the waywetreateachother.
As the values of Curious, Courageous and Christ-led continue to be lived out here at Redeemer, I am excited to see what God has in store and the work He will continue to do in and through the group of peoplehehasplacedhere.
Itiscertainlyapreciouscommunitythatcares a whole awful lot and, as a result, makes an incredible difference in the lives of so many, includingmine.
My time at Redeemer has profoundly impacted me both as a person and as an educator. I am eternally grateful for the lessons I’ve learned, the encouragement I’ve received, and the countless ways this community has shaped me. Watching each of you has taught me how to better care for, serve, andloveothers.
LIFT: Leading, Including, Fostering, and ThrivingatRedeemerLutheranCollege
As we reflect on 2024, we celebrate a year shaped by our guiding theme: LIFT. At Redeemer, this simple, yet powerful word, can mean so much. I often think of LIFT as an acronym — Lead, Include, Foster, and Thrive — and this has defined our approach to pastoral care and student wellbeing, serving as a daily reminder of our mission to support and uplift every memberofourcommunity.
To lead is to set an example, inspire others, and step forward with courage. This year, our students have embraced leadership in many forms, from serving as Junior School captains and leading school assemblies to initiating acts of kindness in the playground. At Redeemer, webelievethatleadershipisnotaboutage ortitlebutanattitudeofserviceandhumility.
Our young leaders have demonstrated empathy, resilience, and integrity, standing up for what is right and serving others selflessly. Every student has the potentialtolead, andithasbeeninspiringtoseethem discovertheiruniqueleadershipabilities.
Inclusion is at the heart of our Christian community. To include means ensuring every person feels seen, heard, and valued. This year, we have nurtured a culture where differences are celebrated, and everyonefeelstheybelong.Ourstudentshavelearned that inclusion means actively engaging with and supporting each other. Through buddy programs, circletime, andinclusiveclassroompractices, wehave fostered an environment where students find common ground despite their differences. At Redeemer, we are all part of one family, united in Christ, calledtoloveandserveoneanother.
To foster is to nurture growth in every individual. We havecommittedtocreatingasupportiveenvironment where each student feels safe, valued, and encouragedtoreachtheirfullpotential.
This year, our teachers and staff have created spaces where students can explore their interests, express themselves, and develop essential skills. Wellbeing initiatives and our pastoral care program have helped our students build resilience, manage stress, and develop a positive sense of self. At Redeemer, fostering means planting seeds today for the leaders, thinkers, and changemakers of tomorrow.
To thrive is to flourish in all aspects of life. We believe that every student should have the opportunity to thrive — to discover their passions and experience joy in their learning. This year, we have celebrated many achievements, from academic successes and sporting victories to creative arts performances and acts of service. These moments remind us of the potential within each child. We thrive when every member of our community is encouraged to bring their best selves forward, knowing they are supportedandloved.
As we close the chapter on 2024, we give thanks for the growth, learning, and blessings we have shared. The theme of LIFT has inspired us to Lead with empathy, Include with open hearts, Foster with care, and Thrive with joy. May this spirit continue to guideandupliftourRedeemercommunityin theyearsahead.
Courageous, and Christ-Led:
Three core values guide us: being Curious, Courageous and Christled. These values not only influence how we learn and grow academically but also shape how we interact with one another and contribute to our community. Understanding these values helps us appreciate their significance and see how they manifest inourdailylives.
Curiosity: The Drive to Explore and Understand - Curiosityisthe spark that ignites the pursuit of knowledge. It’s more than just asking questions; it’s about a deep-seated desire to understand theworldaroundus.Beingcuriousmeansbeingwillingtoexplore new ideas, challenge existing notions, and seek out new experiences. In the classroom, curiosity manifests in students who eagerly participate in discussions, ask insightful questions, and pursue topics with interest and a willingness to understand the worldaroundthem.
OurEarlyYears(P-1)teachersuseprovocationssetuparoundthe room to ignite curiosity and stimulate discussions. By tapping into natural curiosity, provocations can engage their critical thinking and motivate them to delve deeper, driving students to explore concepts and seek answers. In the Primary Years (2-6), students engage in projects of inquiry which fosters and understanding of real-world issues. Through inquiry, their natural curiosity leads them to explore, experiment and innovate, bridging the gap betweentheoreticalknowledgeandpracticalapplication.
DrMariaMontessorioncesaid,"Thegreatestgiftswecangiveour children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence." This highlights how nurturing curiosity provides the foundation for lifelong learning and personal growth. By fostering an environment where curiosity is encouraged, we prepare students not only to excel academically but also to becomeinnovativethinkersandproblem-solvers.
Courage: Embracing Challenges and Taking Risks - “Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the assessment that something else is more important than fear.” – Franklin D. Roosevelt. In an educational context, it involves stepping out of one's comfort zone, tackling difficult problems, and not being afraid to make mistakes. Courageous learners are those who approach their studies with determination and resilience, understandingthatfailuresareopportunitiesforgrowth.
Oneeducator’sperspectiveoncourageinlearningiscapturedby Carol Dweck, who states, “The view you adopt for yourself profoundly affects the way you lead your life.” Embracing a growth mindset, where challenges are seen as opportunities ratherthanobstacles, embodiesthisspiritofcourage.Encouraging students to be bold in their learning journey equips them with the confidencetofacefuturechallengeswithresilienceandoptimism.
Mid Term 3 our Year 5 cohort attended camp at Emu Gully. In the student’s reflections, many of them commented on the courage needed to take part in the tunnel activities. Challenges or obstacles are a natural part of our daily lives, we encourage our students to embrace the challenges to see them more of an opportunityforgrowthratherthanavoidingoutoffear.
Christ-Led Living: Acting with Compassion and Integrity - Being Christ-led means living out the values taught by Jesus Christ, such as love, compassion, and integrity. It involves treating others with kindness, standing up for justice, and demonstrating Christ’s love for humanity through acts of service and empathy toward others. These actions reflect the teachings of Christ and contribute to creating a nurturing and supportiveschoolenvironment.
At Redeemer, we are passionate about integrating service-learning projects into the curriculum. Servicelearning projects provide meaningful opportunities for students to serve their community while deepening their understanding of the needs of others. Through their involvement, students can embody Christ-like values, demonstratingcareandservicetoothers, which fosters personal growth and a sense of connection to their community. As a community, embodying Christlike values enriches our interactions and reinforces our commitment to treating others with dignity and respect. It transforms our school into a place where everyonefeelsvaluedandsupported.
In conclusion, Curiosity, Courage, and Christ-led are more than just words; they are the guiding values that shape our educational experiences and personal development. By cultivating curiosity, we ignite a passion for learning. Embracing courage, we overcome challenges and grow; and by being Christ-like, we fosteracompassionateandsupportivecommunity.
I am constantly inspired by the students in our community. Every day they cultivate curiosity in the learning they undertake. They embrace being courageous by taking risks and overcoming challenges to grow in their knowledge and understanding. I see Christ-like qualities demonstrated daily either by students caring for and supporting one another or thinking of others before the needs of themselves. Our students are an inspiration, and we are blessed to have them here in our community at Redeemer Lutheran College.
Junior School has been an incredible journey where we’ve not only grown as individuals but also learned to thrive together, appreciating everyone’s unique strengths and flourishing as a team. The lessons we’ve learned here will stay with us for the rest of ourlives! It’shardtobelievethatourtimeinJuniorSchooliscomingtoanend, andwe’reabouttobeginanexcitingnewchapter. Our Year 6 cohort is defined by resilience, empathy, and an unbreakable bond of unity. Through every challenge—whether big or small—we stood together, always making sure no one was left behind. Mr. Li, our Year 5 teacher, left a lasting impact, teaching us important lessons about truth and kindness that shape how we see the world. He taught us to be ethical, compassionate, and truthful. Equally unforgettable was Mr. G, whose creativity brought our grade to life. His songs became more than just fun; they weretheheartbeatofourgrade, remindingusofthestrengththatcomesfromunityandsharedjoy.Andofcourse, wearegrateful to all our teachers from Prep until today, who have been part of our journey. Each one has shaped our growth and helped us becomewhowearetoday.Theirsupportandencouragementhaveprepareduswellforthefuture.
In Year 3, we had our first camp at Stoltz Oval - a mix of excitement and nerves, as for many of us, it was our first night away from home. This adventure created memories that will stay with us forever. Some of us were even in tears at first, but by the end, we didn’twanttogohome!
In Year 4, we camped again at Stolz Oval, hearing Mr. Weil’s unforgettable stories, like the one about his dog, “Schnuckens,” who “lostitslife”whileprematurelycelebratingMrWeil’sFormulaOnewin—astorybothtraumaticandhilarious.
Year 5 brought even more memorable adventures, including a thrilling camp at Emu Gully, where we faced challenges like wading waist-deep through mud pits (and some of us even ended up face-first in the mud). We swam in dams, tackled tough obstacles,andstrengthenedourtrustineachother.Thisexperiencetrulybondedusasateamandpushedustobeourbest.
ThencametheYear6CanberraTour!Ourcohort'striptoCanberrawasunforgettableand,formanyofus,afirstexperienceofflying without our parents. From the amazing science at Questacon, where we braved a huge freefall slide (I think my screams could be heard from miles away), to the quiet reflections at the War Memorial, every moment taught us something valuable. We learned responsibility, courage, and respect for those who sacrificed for us. The camps we experienced in Junior School will remain cherishedmemories, teachingusresilience, bravery, andthepowerofteamwork.
Junior School has been filled with unforgettable moments: our first day, the excitement of the 100 Days of Prep, school carnivals, and excursions. Every high and low has shaped us. One of my favouritedaysisthe100DaysofPrep—seeingallthePrepsdressed as 100-year-olds is classic! I still remember my own outfit, completewithawalkingstickandgreyhair, lookingridiculousyet proud. Then there was our journey through COVID lockdowns. This time was challenging but gave us a chance to grow in new ways. Learning from home in 2020 and 2021 was a different experience that tested our problem-solving skills and resilience. It was an unusual and confusing time, but we came out stronger andmoreunited.
One of the most heartbreaking parts of our journey in Junior School was the passing of Mrs Coppo, a beloved teacher and mentor,whosadlylostherbattlewithcancerin2023.Sheshaped our grade’s culture, helping us grow strong and appreciate each day. The night I heard of her passing, I was brought to tears. She hadbeenashininglightforsomanyofus.Herimpactonourlives isprofound, remindingustolivewithjoy, gratitude, andasenseof purpose. Mrs Rebecca Coppo will forever hold a place in our hearts.
ThisChristiancommunityhastaughtussomuch, andwe’reready to embrace the next chapter with confidence. Junior School has been a blast, and the memories we’ve created here will stay with usalways.

Another fantastic year has drawn to a close here at Redeemer OSHC, and as usual it has been filled with adventures, laughs, and lots of new experiences and memories made with friends. As we work to raise learners who are actively engaged with the world aroundthem, wefocusedoncommunityengagement this year and providing as many diverse opportunities aspossibleforallourchildren.
We continued our Monday morning adventures walkingtotheRochedaleFruitMarketwithourBefore School Care children to purchase our weekly shopping.DuringAfterSchoolCare, thechildrenhada wide variety of optional co-curriculars to engage with, from drama to swimming to coding, as well as cooking experiences and gardening. Our Vacation Care children had the opportunity to visit four different theatre shows over the year, studied with the Brisbane Chinese Language School, had hands-on experiences with ocean animals, and connected with other local schools for combined events. We also learnt some sign language and donated Christmas giftsforAngelTree.
The highlight of our year as educators was being able to support Our Nangara Community Group with another fantastic NAIDOC for Jajumms (NAIDOC for Children) event, which saw over 2000 individuals come together for a day of cultural celebration, learning and connection. It was amazing to see some of our own Redeemer children there and to share the experience with so many other passionate educators andprofessionalsfromthesector.
For our children, some of the highlights were simpler events – laser tag, cooking, silent discos, Minecraft Education challenges, and terrarium building were crowd favourites. Enjoying these experiences (and many others!) alongside our OSHC children, we were abletowatchthemgrowinconfidenceandresilience throughout the year. They showed support to each other and worked collaboratively to embrace all of life’sexperiencesandchallenges.
It is very hard to sum up an entire year in just a few words. Most importantly, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our families for trusting our service to be involved in their children’s lives. It is a privilege to be a part of so many stories and to be able to share memories together each and every day. See youallin2025!
SENIOR SCHOOL
Mrs Gaye Ruthenberg
This year has seen a continued exploration and deepening understanding of many different topics in Christian Studies. Year 7 students have focused on the biblical understanding of stewardship for all of God’s creation, finding ways to serve God by serving others. Year 8 students have explored the similarities and differences between the Abrahamic religions. They participated in a Jewish Seder meal. Students also investigated concepts of identity, self -esteem and what internal and external factors influence self-worth. Year 9 students have examined different ethical filters when making decisions. They also explored the values Jesus demonstrated to all people and how these values are important in showing innate dignity.
In Religion and Ethics, students in Years 10, 11 and 12 have explored a range of topics such as Sacred Stories, World Religions & Spiritualities, Social Justice and Meaning and Purpose. Rich experiences were presented to our senior students. Year 10 students visited the Chung Tian Buddhist Temple and the Holland Park Mosque. Year 11 students were exposed to the social justice work of ALWS (Australian Lutheran World Service). A small group of students attended the World Religions Symposium at University Queensland where they gathered with other secondary schools to deepen their knowledge and understanding of world religions.
2024 proved to be a full and rewarding year of imagination and creativity for many students studying Creative Arts. Highlights for Drama students included excursions to QPAC to see past staff member, Jackson Head as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast; the extraordinary physical theatre of Circa in What Will Have Been; Wicked; and visiting performances by Shock therapy Arts including Viral and Crossing the Divide, providing a contemporary examination of colonisation and the impact on first nations people. Workshops with International theatre company, Red Leap and a performance of MuchAdoAboutNothing by the Queensland Conservatorium Acting studentsstarring Redeemer past student, Jordana Wenke, was enjoyedbyDramaandEnglishstudentsalike.

Film and Television students were thrilled to extend their learning and experience in the newly furnished Film studio, (featuring an infinity green screen and lighting rig) and editing suited in the Innovation Hub. The new facility provides industry standard features which will allow invaluable experience and opportunities in their classroom work. Students in Years 8 and 9 Film & Television participated in short filmworkshopsledbyguestartistKyleHeadandwere thoroughly engaged in the ‘Special Effects makeup’ workshop later in the year. We celebrated our Senior students’ incredible work across the Creative Arts at the Inaugural Year 12 Creative Arts Exhibition and Showcase in August, which saw the very first art exhibition in the Innovation Hub, followed by entertainingperformancesintheKleinschmidtCentre.

This year has seen the growth and development of many aspects of the subject English. The introduction of new units has students in the Middle Years exploring ‘Identity’, ‘Individuality’, ‘Celebrating Difference’ and ‘Belonging’. Students in Senior Years continue to explore how language can be manipulatedandhowperspectivesarerepresentedin texts.
In addition to focusing on curriculum, students have also demonstrated their creative flair by taking advantage of the numerous literary competitions that havebeenofferedthroughouttheyear.Itispleasingto note that we continue to have students recognised in thesecompetitionsfortheiroutstandingcreativity.
For the second year in a row, English Week combined with Book Week to celebrate the power of reading. English teachers facilitated activities every day throughout the week including the hotly contested ‘Are You Smarter Than Your Teacher?’ with the students narrowly coming out on top this year. With over 300 Senior School students involved in English Week this year, we look forward to this tradition continuingtogrowinthecomingyears.
Some great experiences were had in the Humanities outside the classrooom in 2024, such as the 12 GeographyexcursiontoStradbrokeIsland,the11Legal Studies mooting performances and some fun in 10 Economics building models of the economy (see photos). Inside the classroom, some of the best moments occurred when students made an insightful observation, asked a thoughtful question or presented a reasoned argument. They showed an interest in matters at a deeper level that are beyond the normal concerns of a young person. This occurs frequently in Humanities classes populated by dedicated teachers andcuriousanddiligentstudents.
A Year 7 student critically analyses the evidence regarding the achievements of First Nations Australians and proposes improvements to Rochedale’s livability. A Year 8 student hypothesises about the impacts of a decision in the role of Prime Minister, tests the logic of a syllogism and defends the actionsofHernanCortesinhisconquestoftheAztecs.
A student in Year 9 empathises with Chinese immigrants to Australia during the 18th century, corroborates to plan and operate a market stall and champions a strategy to sustainably manage a biome.
A Year 10 student prosecutes an accusation in a mock trial, designs a virtual city, weighs the arguments concerning the bombing of Hiroshima, proposes solutions to the housing crisis or criticises the federal budget. While in the Senior Years, students apply historical evidence, criteria or other decision-making tools to draw conclusions about AUKUS, juries, a business plan, carbon emissions or Australia’s involvementintheVietnamWar.
The 2024 year has been fantastic for the Languages Department, with students from Prep to Year 12 studying Chinese, German, or Japanese. Beyond reading, writing and conversing in a foreign language, students were immersed in both traditional and modern cultural experiences. Chinese students worked with traditional materials to write in calligraphy. Year 7 German students crafted an Ostereierbaum (Easter egg tree), while in Japanese, they captured the beauty of cherry blossoms and made Samurai helmets. Modern culture was also explored through watching the anime Doraemon in its originallanguage.
Food played a significant role in cultural exploration, with Years 8 to 10 Japanese and Chinese students enjoying authentic cuisine at Sunnybank, deepening their language skills outside the classroom. Senior Japanese students learned the art of the traditional green tea ceremony, understanding its cultural significance.
Language and community are strongly linked, so we took the language and culture out of the classroom and began the year with Prep students receiving Schultüten, made by last year’s Year 7 German students, in a special devotion to celebrate the beginning of their schooling journey. The vibrant Lunar New Year celebration followed, where all students immersed themselves in the customs of various Asian cultures. These activities fostered a deeper connection to the languages and cultures studied, and celebrated the diverse community withinourCollege.
It has been another event filled year in the Lifestyle Technologies Department. Our Year 7 Food and Nutrition students developed practical skills in food preparation combined with a general introduction to healthy food habits for adolescents. From fruit smoothies to chicken curry, their enthusiasm and willingness to try new foods was exciting to witness. In Year 8 and 9 Food and Nutrition, food product design was the focus in Semester 1, culminating in students creating nutrient dense, appetising school lunches. They then moved on to look at the science of our food, including bread making, rock candy, freshly made pasta and more.
In the area of Textile Design and Fashion, the original and creative design products were amazing! We enjoyed exciting performances of Beauty and the Beast and Wicked at QPAC, the Brisbane Fashion Festival and visits to Country Road for visual merchandising and IKEA for our Interior Design studies.
Hospitality students continued to operate extremely popular Milkshake Mondays, Thirsty Thursdays and Frappe Fridays from Cafe745. The sense of community that has evolved from these weekly events has been fantastic! We welcomed back our very popular and talented Executive Chef Matt Golinski and Chef Elle throughout the year to work with staff and students. Once again, our annual High Tea and restaurant evenings were sellouts, as were our community nights, ‘Winter Warmers’ and ‘Vintage Cakes’.
Thank you to department staff; Megan Symons, Fiona Elliott, Joanne Spotswood, Gaye Ruthenberg and Susan Hose for your commitment, dedication and care of our students throughout the year.
This year, a range of events have taken place to promote mathematics at the College. The first of these was the International Day of Mathematics. Students took part in fun activities such as Mathonopoly, Maths Twister, and Jumbo Cartesian Plane Battleship. Participants could also explore mathematical concepts using the Geogebra dynamic software tool. Demonstrations of data loggers used to collect data of real-life phenomena and develop mathematical models were also performed.

Classroom Music at Redeemer has flourished in 2024, with students from P-12 engaging in a variety of learning activities. All students have been involved in performing music, composing their own music and responding to the music that they listen to.
While all Music students use their singing voices, adding instruments to the classroom program is always fun. Chime bars, un-tuned percussion instruments, recorders, ukeleles and Band instruments have been introduced in a variety of year levels. It is always encouraging to see students trying something new while developing their ensemble skills, with students often performing patterns that they have created themselves.
The Music Department welcomed ‘Timmy and the Breakfast Band’ from Musica Viva to perform for students in Years 3 and 4 in Term 3. Students were excited to see and hear the mandolin, banjo, cello and piano accordion in action. Throughout the show, not only did Timmy entertain the crowd with juggling and some circus tricks, but he also realised that music can portray various emotions.
Opera Queensland also visited Redeemer in Term 3, performing a modern interpretation of ‘Hansel and Gretel’ for the Year 6 cohort. The students enjoyed learning about operas and performing some of Humperdinck’s original music.
A highlight in the Year 8/9 program was watching the story ‘Hairy Maclary’ come to life. Students worked in groups to create a melodic theme for each of the characters in this story, which they then performed to Prep students. For many of the Prep students, this was their first concert at Redeemer!
During Term 2, Music students from Years 8 – 12 attended the production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at QPAC. They were immersed in this professional production and engaged in a question-andanswer session with some of the main characters after the show.
Student performances, compositions and musicology tasks within in the Senior School Music program continued to demonstrate an incredibly high level of musical understanding, musicianship and technical ability. Whether performing for their peers, or like the Music Extension students, performing for an auditorium full of Redeemer families, the students are to be congratulated and affirmed for their dedication to their craft and Music studies.
Music education at Redeemer is very much a team effort. The success that students experience through the classroom program is attributed to not only the classroom teachers but is also connected with the co-curricular Music program and private music tutors who go above and beyond to support classroom Music projects.

We would like to acknowledge the hard work of our students in 2024. Your perseverance, diligence, determination and courage in your learning has resulted in wonderful achievements across all Curriculum Departments.
The Redeemer Lutheran College community has every reason to reflect on a remarkable year of music-making. From the youngest piano students in Prep to the Senior students preparing for their next musical chapter, this year was a testament to the transformative power of music and the dedication of our students, families, and staff.
First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the families of our young musicians. Your support, encouragement, and belief in the value of music education are the foundations on which our program thrives. Thank you for fostering a positive environment at home where music is not just practised, but truly loved. This enthusiasm carries into rehearsals and performances, where students share their excitement, cooperation, focus, and musicianship. Together, you’ve helped nurture a community that embraces the joy of making music.
The crowning jewel of our year was undoubtedly the LIFT Gala Concert, held at St Peters Lutheran College. This extraordinary showcase brought together over half of the school in a spectacular evening of collaboration and artistry. Highlights included multiple combined performances, the singing-andplaying Senior Singers, and an unforgettable performance by The Fellas - hailed as one of their best yet. Junior Voices captured hearts with their charming Ted-E-Bear performance, while the scratch Symphony Orchestra stunned the audience as it accompanied Amali Kordis’ Both Sides Now and Eric Neumann in Grieg’s piano concerto.
It was a night to remember, one that underscored the extraordinary achievements possible when young people work together in harmony. The concert epitomised the spirit of Redeemer’s Music program: a celebration of effort, talent, and unity.
While the spotlight often and inevitably falls on Senior students, the roots of our success lie in the Junior School. Our Year 2 Piccolo Strings defied expectations, reaching performance levels that delighted audiences and set the stage for future growth. Year 5 Band students made tremendous strides in their first year of learning an instrument, developing technical and musical skills that will serve them for years to come, while Junior Voices embraced the joy of singing, a gift they can carry with them for life.
These foundational years are where the magic begins. They are where students build the skills and confidence that will see them shine in their ensembles through competitions, performances, and beyond.
Every term brought its own special moments. The Play! and Sing! concerts in Term 1 delighted audiences, while chamber ensembles
and choirs brought music and joy to residents of The Plains Retirement Village. Our students earned accolades at the Queensland Youth Music Awards and MusicFest, performed in a Piano Masterclass, and bravely took the stage in solo recitals. The Jazz groups took their infectious energy to Warwick’s Jumpers and Jazz festival, and we capped off the year with the community-spirited It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas concert.
In addition to these events, our Senior students distinguished themselves through participation in the State and Australian Honours Ensemble Programs, Queensland Youth Orchestras, and even as student conductors and composers. These achievements are a testament to the strength and breadth of the Redeemer Music program.
We hope every student continues their musical journey, not just while at Redeemer but throughout their lives. Whether they pursue music professionally, play or sing in community ensembles, or simply carry the love of music in their hearts, the lessons learned hereteamwork, creativity, discipline and resilience - will serve them well in every facet of their lives.
Research shows us that music-makers are exceptional students. It is no coincidence that so many of our musicians continue to be recognised with academic and service awards, and College leadership roles, in addition to their multitude of musical achievements. Music teaches structure, focus, care, and emotional intelligence, qualities that help our students excel in all areas of their schooling.
As the Bible reminds us in Psalm 150:4: "Praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe." At Redeemer, we are privileged to witness this praise in action, as students LIFT their instruments, their voices, and their spirits in joyful song.
Here’s to another incredible year of music at Redeemer!
In looking back to the start of the 2024 school year, it’s quickly evident to see the many and varied opportunities for our Junior and Senior students to participate in sport with their peers, as well as representing the College and competing at District, Regional and State levels.
The College’s theme for 2024 of “LIFT” was actively demonstrated by our students in many ways, whether it be our Senior students helping with our Junior School Sport programs and carnivals, our younger Senior School students stepping up to help our Intermediate or Senior teams, or many students lifting up at our sports carnivals by competing in additional events to help our College teams gain additional event points.
It’s also been great to see some students lift to higher levels of individual performance in different sports and in doing so, they have acknowledged and rewarded for their effort and commitment. Our Interhouse Sport Carnivals for Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics were all swum and run with a continued increased level of student participation and engagement across both the Junior and School student population, which has been pleasing to see.
A considerable number of our students then went on to compete in carnivals at the Southern Lutheran Association of Primary School (SLAPS), Logan District School Sport and Met East Regional School Sport, and our GBC Carnivals. We had many students placing in the top three for their individual events and also winning Age Championship awards. Redeemer also won the Logan District Athletics – Overall Percentage award for the second year in a row, which reflects the efforts of our student in competing against larger schools.
For the third year in a row, combined home round of GBC Junior and Senior Sport in Term 3 across four sports, we had over 300 of our students playing Basketball, Soccer, Touch Football and Volleyball – and we are the only GBC School to have done this!
Redeemer also played host for the Logan District, SLAPS and GBC Cross Country Carnivals at our fantastic DG Stolz Sportsfields. After successfully hosting the Volleyball Queensland - Primary Schools Cup competition for the first time in 2023, we hosted this event again in 2024 with an 30% increase in the total number of teams participating.
Our SELECT Sport programs have continued to develop and be refined, with many students trialing for and being selected in Football, Futsal, Netball and Volleyball squads.
Our goal for the SELECT Sport programs are to develop the student’s sporting skills, athletic ability, and game knowledge further outside of GBC Sport, while also competing in external District, Regional or State level competitions.
Our College Sport Supporter Group, led brilliantly this year by Mrs Jenni Quilkey and Mr Steven Richardson, has continued their fantastic support of College cocurricular Sports program by way of providing canteen services for our GBC home games and carnival days. Thank you also to the many parents, carers and extended family members who helped Jenni and Steven with canteen in the MPC and at DG Stolz Sportsfields throughout the year!
The College Sport Department said goodbye to Mikaela Di Savia (Sport Co-ordinator) at the end of 2023, who left to complete her university studies. Mikaela led our Football and Strength and Conditioning programs for a number of years, which we are thankful for. We also excitedly welcomed Mr Byron Williams and Mr Nick Fee as our newest Sport Co-ordinators to add further experience in Basketball and Strength and Conditioning for our Senior Sports teams.
Sport at the College is a team effort in many different ways - it involves students working together, our Primary and Senior Sport Coaches working with our students, our school staff that coach or co-ordinate different, our College families supporting our students with early morning starts before school or late finishes after school and on weekends, and finally, our valuable College Sport Staff, Lauren Curry, Danielle Hinton, Emily Thompson, and Nick Fee.
Everything we do with Sport at our College is about providing students with opportunities to participate, compete and enjoy their sporting experience, and I feel we have done well to achieve this in 2024. My sincere personal thanks and gratitude to everyone who has been involved in College Sport this year.

Reflecting on our other initiatives such as study skills presentations, we are very grateful to have been given this opportunity to lift the community in their academic endeavours. It has been a wonderful experience to celebrate the academicsuccessesofourpeers.
None of this would have been possible without the continual support from our mentors, Mrs Johansen and Mrs Robinson. We would like to thank you both for your unwavering guidance. You have been with us each step of the way, helping us to be well-rounded leaders and a voiceofthecommunity.Thankyouforhelpingus to turn our ideas into action, and our goals into achievements!
We hope that as we depart, the community is left with a spark for learning and success. Our gratitude for our mentors, peers, and the whole Collegeisendless, thankyouforthisopportunity.
As the Community Service Captain for 2024, my year has been filled with numerous fulfilling experiences and learning opportunities. One of the most memorable events was the Easter Egg Donation, which gathered significant gifts. It was incredible to see our school community come together, showcasing the spirit of generosity and unity.
Being in this role has taught me the importance of empathy, leadership, and teamwork. It’s not just about coordinating events but also about inspiring others to contribute and make a difference. I’ve learned to appreciate the small efforts that collectively make a big impact, whether it’s a kind word, ahelpinghand, orathoughtfulgesture.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated team of volunteers and our supportive teachers. Without their relentless effort and enthusiasm, noneofourinitiativeswouldhavebeen possible. Special thanks to Mrs Dart for her unwaveringguidanceforbeingaconstantsourceof support.
To the younger students, remember that Community Service is not just an co-curricular activity; it’s a way of life. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, contributes to a better world. Embrace every opportunity to help others, and you’llfindthattherewardsarebeyondmeasure.
As the year draws to a close, our spirit of kindness continues to shine brightly. I’m eagerly anticipating theupcomingWorld’sGreatestShaveeventinTerm 4, where our Year 12 tradition of shaving or cutting hair serves as a powerful gesture of solidarity for those battling blood cancer. Every dollar we raise will help provide families with practical and emotional support to get them through the many challenges that blood cancer can bring. So, let’s shave, cut, and snip – together, we can make a lifechangingdifferencetoday.
As we approach the end of our journey at Redeemer, I want to remind you of the power we hold to effect change. Keep pushing boundaries, stay compassionate, and never underestimate the impact of your actions. Let’s make our final year unforgettable, filled with achievements and meaningful contributions. Together, wecanleavealastinglegacy.

I love theatre - it’s my favourite thing, ever. Like theatre, film, art, dance, and music are mediums that allow us to build intimate connections and share stories. My goal this year was to share this experience and love I have for these Creative Arts with our Redeemercommunity.
Students were encouraged to indulge in the playful activities in Term 3, our new ‘Creative Arts Week’! We startedtheweekoffwithagroovyDancePartyonthe Green, filled with YMCA and energetic dance circles. On Tuesday, we had our Short Film Festival in the Innovation Hub. The Pixar and student-made short films were served with a side of free popcorn! On Wednesday we cheered-on the talented artists at the Interhouse Pavement Art and watched as students completedvibrantworksaroundthetheme‘Journey’. This competition was followed by Theatre Sports on Thursday in the Innovation Hub. The space was filled with laughter and liveliness as students challenged their improv skills and ensemble work, being judged by fellow theatre lover, Mr Jeffes. To wrap up this wonderful week, we had a collection of different art activities students could engage with, from making short films, to creating art pieces with cardboard and hotglue.
I believe fostering the arts at Redeemer teaches us to become more open-minded, vulnerable and imaginative people. This has been supported by countless co-curricular activities and performances, including ‘In the Spotlight’ evenings where art, drama, film and dance students display their hard work. Our Children’s Theatre Production of ‘The Lorax’ was performed to audiences in Term 2 with the guidance and direction from the Creative Arts teachers, and a range of guest artists, further providing us with opportunities to learn from some talented and passionate people. For the first time at Redeemer, students from Years 10-12 had the opportunity to devise and perform a piece for ‘The Scene Project’ in the Bille Brown Theatre at Queensland Theatre. Our final piece was beautiful, with use of physical theatre, puppetry and ensemble work.
A note to younger students: if anyone ever calls you a nerd, likein‘theatrenerd’,rememberthatitisagood thing! Being a nerd means you show dedication, passionandpersistenceinwhatyoulove.
Creativity takes courage. This year, students have had a multitude of opportunities to be courageous and it’s all because of Mrs Adelt’s hard work and passion. Every show, every exhibition and every student’s blossoming of confidence in their art has been nurtured by Mrs Adelt, and we are so lucky to have her share this joy within the community. Thank you, Mrs Adelt, you are one of the reasons I love Creative Arts.
Note to the Class of 2024
I’m sure we’ve all had our fair share of breakdowns or our ‘I’m unwell’ days, but it’s important to remember it’s been our friends who have supported us. We will continue to endure obstacles but it’s nice to know we’ve got each other to help overcome them. Love ya,bye.
As the Cultural and Traditions Captains for 2024, we focused on the diversity of Redeemer’s culture through our many events for both Junior and Senior School for everyone to feel included and unified. This year, we ran events such as World week, Valentine’s Day, Saint Patrick's Day and much more. In addition, thecommitteehighlightedtheimportanceofunityandrespectthroughactivitiessuchasdot paintinginJuniorSchoolduringNationalSorryDayandReconciliationWeek.
Our highlight of the year as Cultural and Traditions Captains was definitely World Week in Term 4. Serving as Music Captains for 2024 has allowed us to connect with younger students and truly appreciate the sense of community within our College. Since joining Redeemer in 2012, we’ve admired each generation of student leaders, never imagining that one day we’d take on these roles ourselves. Reflecting on this year, it’s still surreal to see how much we’ve grown, both as musicians and leaders. Being entrusted with the responsibility of guiding others has been an honour, and we’ve come to recognisetheimpactouractions-bothlargeandsmall-haveonfosteringtheschool’svalues.Thisyear has also brought many exciting achievements, including special honours at the Queensland Youth Music Awards and Music Fest, and the immense joy of the inaugural Gala Concert, where over 500 students came together to showcase their talents and commitment to making music. Our experiences as captains have been unforgettable, deepening our understanding of what it means to serve as role modelsinourvibrant, diverseMusicDepartment.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Music Department staff for their invaluable support throughout our journey. To the students of Redeemer: Don’t be afraid to give everything a try; after all, you’ll never know what you can achieveunlessyoutry!
As we conclude this 13-year journey and transition to the next chapter of our lives, we extend our deepest gratitude to each one of you formakingourhighschoolexperienceoneofthe most exceptional periods of our lives. We are confident that every member of our cohort will achieve extraordinary things, and we encourage you to always ‘LIFT.’ May the Lord bless you and keepyou.
This year has focused on the notion of “Lift”, a concept developed with the intent to support and stand by one another. Working in a role of leadership within our sporting community, we have been lucky enough to witness many acts of lifting one another through trainings, games, tournaments, and carnivals.
One of the goals set in 2024 has been to increase participation and attendance in Sport - a goal well-achieved through the College’s outstanding increase in numbers across the previous years. This year has been memorable due to the enthusiasm shown by students to grow the Redeemer Sport community. The students have proven the strength of the College through their constant effort to raise their hand, give events or competitions a go, and lift others to attempt alongside them. This outstanding character and team spirit has demonstrated everyone’s dedication and sportsmanship when faced with challenges and successes.
Throughout this time of growth, an initiative to further collaborate with our Redeemer Junior School was highlighted, and the successfully achieved with our combined Years 4-12 Cross Country Carnival. This opportunity allowed our whole College to come together and lift the younger students up, inspiring them to view the spirit of our school in support of one another.
Major successes have been present through our GBC Sports, with various teams winning their Premierships and individuals becoming Age Champions or runners up. This couldn’t have been possible without the amazing effort from each student attending training, and the time spent from all coaches and Sport staff making these great achievements happen. Similarly, students within our SELECT Sport programs have dedicated themselves tirelessly throughout the entire year, attending competitions with enthusiasm and spirit. Alongside this, we had numerous Redeemer students excelling in external completions, qualifying for Districts, Regional and State level.
To our younger students, we would like to offer you some words of encouragement as you embark on your sporting journeys. Remember, to look ahead and visualise your goal, do not get stuck criticising the present, but recognise your progress. Always, be there to lift one another, because your teammates, training partners, and coaches are all family and wish you the best. If you persevere then your efforts will show outcomes and create memorable experiences all the way.
2024 has been a significant learning curve for us as leaders, students, and peers. Together we have learnt that lifting one another cannot happen without effort and trust from all parties. We wish to extend gratitude towards all the effort and commitment shown from students, families, and coaches. None of this year would have been possible without your presence. Thank you to the support of the Sport Department for investing your year to improving all the students’ athletic abilities and constantly providing opportunities for success. None of this would have been possible without you all lifting us up.
As for ourselves, we were lucky enough to not just be leaders for many of you, but also be led by you. We were extremely privileged to be part of this Redeemer community, and we hope it will continue lifting one another so that you all may strive to achieve your best. Good luck to all Sport leaders across the oncoming years. We hope you uphold your passion for sportsmanship, competition, and participation to the best of your abilities.
It has been an honour to serve as the 2024 Redeemer Sport Captains. As the year draws to a close and the pieces begin to fall into place for the Class of 2024, we reflect upon our time together and what we have achieved as a cohort. The bonds created from each person in the cohort is something we hope everyone can carry into their lives after school. We wish the best of luck to each one of you as you begin your own journey and know that no matter what you do, you’ll give it your best shot.

During Terms 2 and 3, a talented group of Year 7 and 8 students was selected to represent Redeemer at the Churchie Maths Team Challenge on 29 July. Competing against schools such as Churchie, Nudgee College, All Hallows, and Brisbane State High, our two teams took part in the Senior School - Junior division, tackling both relay and individual math challenges.
Though this was our first year participating and we didn’t place, our students demonstrated impressive problem-solving skills and proudly represented Redeemer.
Congratulations to Sraddha Bukkapatnam, Elsa Liu, Isabella Mathew, Shreyan Khurana, Ryan To, Harry Fu, Khloe Yu, Mustafa Ahmed, Noah George, Ayden Lu, and Rishik Rawla for their outstanding effort and dedication throughout the competition.
On a sunny Tuesday, 15 October, anticipation buzzed in the air as several Year 7 and 9 students eagerly set off for the Day of Excellence workshop event at Iona College. This wasn’t just any ordinary school day; it was an extraordinary adventure designed to stretch minds and showcase the remarkable talents of our young academics.
The event brought together bright minds from Redeemer and other neighbouring schools, creating a vibrant mosaic of young thinkers ready to tackle the world. Laughter and lively discussions filled the rooms as students dived into a series of dynamic workshops. These weren’t your typical classroom activities; they were a thrilling mix of problem-solving, critical thinking, and boundless creativity.
Imagine stepping into a historical mock trial, where students became impassioned lawyers and witnesses, arguing their cases with fervour. Or picture the excitement of a greenscreen promotional filmmaking session, where budding directors and actors collaborated to produce stunning visual stories. The creative writing workshop was a haven for young authors, their pens dancing across pages, weaving tales of wonder and imagination.
Visual Arts enthusiasts found themselves immersed in colour and texture, crafting masterpieces that spoke volumes of their artistic flair. Meanwhile, the Robotics and Coding sessions transformed students into tech wizards, programming robots to perform intricate tasks and solving complex coding challenges with ease.
The Day of Excellence was not just about showcasing individual talents; it was a celebration of collaboration and shared passions. Students forged new friendships, exchanged ideas, and inspired one another to reach greater heights. It was a day where learning transcended the ordinary, leaving everyone with a sense of achievement and excitement for the adventures ahead.
As the day drew to a close, the students left with more than just new knowledge; they carried with them memories of an enriching and exhilarating experience that will undoubtedly spark their curiosity and drive for excellence in the years to come.

May you walk forward into the world with the wisdom, grace, and courage that these years at Redeemer have shaped within you. May your hearts be filled with the joy of knowing you have been part of a community that has loved, supported, and challenged you to grow.
May you always remember the lessons learned— lessons of compassion, resilience, and faith. May you be bold in your dreams and faithful in your pursuit of them, knowing that you are equipped with the gifts to make a difference in the world.
As you leave Redeemer, may you carry the light of Christ within you, sharing kindness, truth, and hope wherever you go. And when you face challenges, may you be reminded of the strong foundation you've built here—one that will always guide you.
Go with confidence, knowing that God is with you, every step of the way. May His peace go with you, now and always. Amen.
