SOLAR BLANKETS THAT GO THE DISTANCE Introducing REDARC’s new range of lightweight, rugged and compact folding solar blankets, the ultimate in portable solar power.

Available in 160, 240 and 300 watt configurations, the solar blankets feature monocrystalline cells and are the highest capacity blankets or panels ever available from REDARC. Solar blankets offer the ultimate in portable solar generation as well as well as a flexibility not found with folding or fixed solar panels.

These new panels are up to 40% lighter and fold down to a compact 36 x 36 x 8cm unit, making them easy to stow away when it’s time to hit the road.

Each solar blanket is constructed from heavy duty canvas and covered in an anti-reflective and scratch resistant ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (EFTE) coating.

This not only improves efficiency but makes them extremely durable, perfect for off‑road conditions as well as moving around camp. They can be draped over the bonnet or windscreen, hung from an awning or simply laid flat on the ground.

These new blankets include genuine industry standard Anderson™ SB™ 50 connectors for convenient plug-and-play portability. Kits are also available which include a corresponding REDARC solar regulator and extension cable for an out-of-the-box, ready to use solution, or pair with a BCDC battery charger or GoBlock portable power system which feature in‑built solar regulators as standard.

REDARC is pleased to introduce the newest addition to the GoBlock accessory range, the GoBlock smart battery recovery cable, designed to safely recover your vehicle’s start battery when flat using the GoBlock.

REDARC LAUNCHES GOBLOCK SMART BATTERY RECOVERY CABLE Utilising the GoBlock’s smart battery recovery feature and smart battery recovery cable, you can safely charge yours or a friend’s start battery and get out of trouble in as little as fifteen minutes.

Unlike traditional jump starting, the smart battery recovery feature means you can stop the vehicle and turn it back on again without needing to jump-start the battery a second time.

Fitted with a genuine Anderson connector, this cable measures 1.5m in length and includes alligator style clamps for quick and effective connection to the vehicle’s battery.

REDARC LAUNCHES THE GOBLOCK POWERDOCK The PowerDock allows Green Power Priority, simultaneous vehicle and solar charging that will utilise all available solar power before supplementing with power from the vehicle when necessary. This ensures your GoBlock gets more charge, more often whilst also reducing load on your vehicle electrical system and ultimately increasing fuel economy.

The patented PowerDock design provides both restraint and connection with a singleaction mechanism. When you reach your destination, pop the quick release handle – the GoBlock is recharged, ready to go.

The PowerDock is even lockable with a neat anti-theft feature, designed to protect your GoBlock investment.

Soon to be released, PowerDock wiring kits are designed to simplify installation for both installers and DIYers alike.

The PowerDock to Terminal Block Wiring Kit is designed to allow fitment of usersupplied wiring and connections for vehicle power and solar by providing only the core components required.

EXPORT UPDATE

Since our last edition, there have been some fantastic industry events which have allowed REDARC to get out and meet customers face to face.

REDARC ATTENDS NTP‑STAG EXPO AND THE 2021 SEMA SHOW IN THE US During a busy few months, the REDARC North American Sales Team were excited to be out and about, around the country attending The SEMA Show in November, 2021 and NTP-STAG Expo in January, 2022.

Unlike any other trade show in the world, The SEMA show has over 1300 exhibitors, 70+ professional education sessions and the most innovative and in-demand products on display.

With a star-studded line up of visitors to the REDARC booth, including Expedition Overland’s Clay Croft, FourWheeler TV’s Ian Johnson and Overland Journal’s Scott Brady, it was a massive few days talking with customers about installing and using our Australian-made gear across North America.

Hosted in the new Caesars Forum, the NTP‑STAG expo was an incredibly successful show for our US team, with many customers taking significant interest in our brake controller range, as well as our solarready, DC-DC charger products.

Featuring showcases from manufactures, educational seminars and industry networking, the ever-growing RV show was a great opportunity to meet with customers and continue to gain exposure in the industry.

HEAVY VEHICLE SAFETY UPDATE

In the event of a heavy vehicle rollover, the dangers extend beyond the initial impact as the vehicle’s electrical system can spark, starting fires from leaking fuel or exposed dangerous goods.

WHY OEMS CHOOSE REDARC TO MITIGATE ROLLOVER RISKS Made in Australia and trusted by the likes of Kenworth and other OEMs, the BMIS and ROS feature an ISO26262 rated dual redundancy system to avoid false triggering.

In addition to this, they comply with stringent industry standards including the latest Australian Dangerous Goods Standard AS2809;2020.

Designed to safely isolate batteries in 12 and 24 volt applications, REDARC’s Battery Master Isolation Switch (BMIS) and Roll Over Sensor (ROS) have reliable performance and safety at the forefront of their design.

Ergonomically-designed, the BMIS enables the four cables to extrude from either side, minimising its installed footprint when compared to popular alternatives. During the development of the BMIS extensive independent testing and validation was undertaken, including rugged field trials

to ensure the unit could be fitted as OE equipment. The BMIS is easy to install from new or as a retrofit, with a variety of accessories available to make retrofit installation as simple as possible.

The ROS works hand in hand with the BMIS to automatically shut down the vehicle’s engine and and all electrics in the event of a rollover, The combination of the ROS and BMIS reduces frustrating false triggers from wiring faults through the system’s dual fault protection, with two separate signals required to activate the BMIS.

Applications for the BMIS and ROS stretch far beyond dangerous goods vehicles, as any vehicle that rolls over whilst power is running poses the risk of an electrical spark that could cause a fire. The BMIS and ROS are indicative of REDARC’s focus on providing safety solutions for the heavy vehicle industry in Australia, as well as its dedication to local manufacturing. Both the BMIS and the ROS are designed, developed and tested in Australia to ensure that they are perfectly suited to harsh conditions.

Growing from a two-man, mobile business to a team of seven and a workshop in only twelve months has been amazing.

We’ve been operating for nearly three years now.

We currently have six; two tradies, a first, second and third year apprentice, myself and the real boss, my wife, Rachel, in the office.

I’ve been installing REDARC for over ten years. I’m most proud of our full REDARC

Nothing official, but I’m very guilty of loudly making up my own songs all day in the workshop.

Bed! It’s the only time I can really switch off and relax. For quality family time, I love the Gold Coast.

Hummingbird Electronics is excited to launch the latest and greatest in geared alarm systems.

HUMMINGBIRD ELECTRONICS LAUNCHES THIRD GEAR SELECTED ALARM SYSTEM The Third Gear Warning System monitors and alerts the operator - if they’ve selected forward or reverse in third gear, preventing damage to the track and drive train.

Using the third gear on a dozer can reduce the lifetime of the trucks by 50%.

This can result in tens of thousands of dollars spent on replacements, depending on the model of the dozer.

When third gear is selected, the system’s outputs activate a critical alarm/LED warning which will appear on the dash, along with an external flashing beacon, if connected.

This delay prevents unnecessary alerts in the event of gear selection errors.

To complete the alarm system setup, pair up the Third Gear Selected Alarm with one of Hummingbird’s staple products, the Audio Alert System.

These alarms are also complemented by the Combination Warning LED and Buzzer.

REDARC SUPPORTS OUTBACK CLEANUPS AUSTRALIA Founded in 2019 to combat the rising level of rubbish pollution in natural environments across Australia, non-profit organisation Outback Cleanups Australia travel the country to keep Australia beautiful and accessible to all.

They have collected over 61,000kg of rubbish from some of Australia’s most iconic and beloved landscapes. With the help of volunteers, the Outback Cleanups Australia team collect and categorise the litter and dispose of it responsibly.

Powered by REDARC, the Outback Cleanups Australia team is able to spend more time off-grid and remove more rubbish to keep tracks and national parks open.
