Do you have the need for speed? Join us at the M1 Concourse track in Pontiac, where they will have race cars from every era circling the ring, over 100 cars on display, classic stock cars, food trucks and live music playing oldies from the 1960s. Food will be on your own at a Food Truck on the grounds. Note: There is a lot of walking on this trip!

American Speed Festival Friday, October 4, 2024 Due at Registration:

In celebration of Dia de Muertos, the DIA will honor objects important to lost loved ones. Favorite foods, drinks, mementos and pictures are showcased and incorporated into elaborate displays that include pan de muerto (bread of the dead), sugar skulls, candles, flowers, papel picado (paper cutouts) and other decorations. Lunch will be on your own in the Kresge Court at the DIA prior to our tour. No food or drinks are permittedintheMuseum.

Let’s head to Bath City Bistro in Mt. Clemens to play some Belgian Feather Bowling! It is similar to curling, except this originated in Belgium. You roll a wooden ball (similar to a cheese ball) towards a pigeon feather. Lunch will be prior to bowling, on your own. 20 seats available!

Frankie Vallie & the Four Seasons “The Last Encores” Sunday, October 13, 2024

Join us for this once-in-a-lifetime concert with Main Floor tickets to the Fox Theatre for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Frankie Valli is not only a pop music icon, but an actor that has been featured in the iconic television show, The Sopranos, as Rusty and the Capo in the Lupertazzi crime family. Please Note: Bags and Purses larger than 4" x 6" x 1.5" are prohibited. Medical Bags are permitted and should be no larger than 14" x 14" x 6". This is a cashless venue.

NOTICE TO TRAVELERS

This is a reminder that the times scheduled for trips are leaving times and not boarding times. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to leaving. We WILL NOT be calling you to see where you are. If you are late, we will be forced to leave you behind. We are on a tight schedule and each stop on the trip is scheduled at a particular time with the businesses. There will not be any refund because we have paid for the number of people that signed up for the trip. PLEASE NOTE: There is no reserved bus seating. Seats are first come-first serve. Any special request will be at the discretion of the escort and based on availability. All travelers MUST remain with the group at all times; exception to this is free-time within the trip as announced by the escort.

CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event that you can't attend a trip you signed up for, call your senior center as soon as possible so that we can do our best to fill your spot with a replacement. After registration deadline, an account credit will only be issued for cancellations if we can fill your spot. After office hours, including weekend cancellations, we will not have the resources to fill your spot for you and late cancellations will be considered a no-show with no credit issued. Emergency medical cards must be completed before you attend a trip.

Paying by check: a separate check in the exact amount for EACH TRIP is required when signing up for multiple trips at the centers. Utilizing CIVIC REC online requires a credit card which may be used to pay for multiple trips.

Paying by cash: exact amount of trip, nothing larger than a $20 bill.

Non-Resident Trip Signup

Non-residents of Dearborn Heights are welcome to sign up for trips, if there are any seats available after the resident sign up date. If the trip is full, non-residents may go on the wait list in case of a cancellation.

Westview Apple Orchard

We’re traveling to Westview Orchards today to see the beautiful apple orchards! We will start our day with your choice of a late breakfast at the Pancake Factory Restaurant, this is on your own. When we arrive at the orchard our group will take a wagon ride out to the fields. You will pick apples and take in all of the beauty. After our wagon ride, we will be treated to a donut and cider, included in the cost.

Join us as we make the trip to the Older Persons’ Commission in Rochester to experience the 650 Players for a “Play within a Play” Melodrama Musical that welcomes the audience to a small western town for the story of a lost love, a “rehabilitated” villain, a jilted woman, and a framed sheriff.
