The Heights Traveler “Sunflower Picking” Westview Orchards Tuesday August 2, 2022 We’re traveling to Westview Orchards today to see the beautiful sunflowers! We will start our day with your choice of a late breakfast or early lunch at the Honeytree Restaurant: this is on your own. When we arrive at the orchard our group will take a wagon ride out to the sunflower fields. You will pick a flower of your choice and take all the photos you want. After our wagon ride we will be treated to a donut and juice. Trip cost includes sunflower picking, wagon ride, donut and juice plus travel by Deluxe Motor Coach. We start our evening out with a delicious dinner at Aubrees. The menu is soup, salad and the all you can eat pizza buffet. After dinner we are on our way to see Anything Goes. The S. S. American is sailing between New York and England with a comically colorful assemblage of passengers. You will be singing along to the famous Cole Porter music. Travel by Deluxe Motor Coach. Eastern Market & Blocks Saturday August 20, 2022 We have reserved bus parking by the bathrooms with easy access to the main shelters for shopping. Detroit Opera House Sunday August 21, 2022
This musical follows The Temptations' extraordinary journey from the streets of Detroit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. See how they met, how they rose to fame, the groundbreaking heights they hit, and how personal and political conflicts threatened to tear the group apart as the United States fell into civil unrest. Detroit Art, Architecture & Auto Barons Friday August 26, 2022 Tour in route to the Fisher Building through Historic Milwaukee Junction following the tour at Piquette Model T Plant. A guided tour of the Fisher Building lobby and mezzanine level will reveal a view not seen by many. This portion involves stairs. Next we will travel to Boston Edison to see the homes of several of the wealthy Fisher Brothers and many other significant homes including the Motown Mansion. This tour will reveal a sense of the wealthy lifestyle many residents and auto barons lead in the early 1900’s. We finish our day with lunch at your choice of either the American Coney Island or National Coney Island. Lunch is on your own, everything else listed is included in your trip cost. We WILL NOT be calling you to see where you are. If you are late, we will be forced to leave you behind. We are on a tight schedule and each stop on the trip is scheduled at a particular time with the businesses. There will not be any refund because we have paid for the number of people that signed up for the trip.
