SNAG, or “Starting New at Golf” allows participants to learn, practice, and play golf where they are! This fun sport has all the elements of golf, but in a modified form. SNAG is appropriate for all ages. Participants will learn how to drive, pitch, chip, and putt the golf ball. All necessary equipment is provided. 6 week session.

TUMBLING WITH FUNDAMENTALS GYMNASTICS
This exciting program is for every tumbler from beginners to advanced. Students will be taught everything from cartwheels, round off, handstands, bridges, to the more advanced skills like back handsprings and back tucks. Participants under 18 must be supervised by a parent/ guardian/caregiver over the age of 18. Siblings are welcome at no additional cost. If personal care assistance is needed, caregiver must stay onsite. Goals: To increase coordination, body awareness, gross motor skills, and physical activity.

Learn how to play the fastest growing sport in America! Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong on a badminton-sized court, with a modified tennis net, paddle and lightweight ball. This class is designed for anyone interested in the sport that has never played before. Learn basics of the game, including basic shot techniques, rules, court positioning, equipment and intro strategy. Advance registration is required for this program; drop-in pickleball to follow afterwards for an additional $2/night. 5 week session.

CRAZY RUNNERS
This fun, challenging training program will prepare Tykes (3-7) and Juniors (8-14) to run a certain distance based on their age and abilities. Our program is designed to help develop coordination and athleticism in young kids. No matter what sport your kids are getting ready for, running can get them in great condition and help them become balanced, well-rounded athletes. We teach the fundamentals using structured practices, form drills, running specific exercises, and running specific plyometrics. We believe in teaching kids to run correctly, being challenged aerobically each practice, and having fun with running games designed to bring out the competitive spirit. 8 week session.

Future Star is the perfect introduction to the fun world of soccer. Children are introduced to the basics of soccer, in a play-oriented yet structured format, using child-friendly but realistic soccer equipment. Essential Eligibility Criteria: Program level 3. This clinic will provide the basic skills and techniques of power wheelchair soccer. Power soccer is an adaptation of traditional soccer. Unlike traditional soccer, power soccer athletes play the game using specialized wheelchairs and adaptive equipment. Players use power wheelchairs and soccer guards to maneuver the ball across the field and score goals. Goals: To learn the basics of power soccer and increase social skill in an encouraging team environment.

ACES TENNIS PROGRAM
ACES Program is the perfect opportunity for your child to learn the Fundamentals of tennis. We use low compression balls and small court sizes. Activities focus on building agility, balance and coordination skills (The ABC’s), while developing the on-court skills needed to serve, rally, and score. Prior to moving to the next stage of our program, these players will be able to demonstrate understanding of basic technique and maintain that technique during rallies. 4 week session.
HOT SHOTS TENNIS
Hot Shots Program builds on the skills and mechanics developed in the ACES program. While still using modified court sizes, this program introduces footwork patterns; spin mechanics on both the serve and ground strokes and tactical awareness. Specifically, each player learns to develop areas of strength in their game and how to use them to their advantage. 4 week session.
NEW! YOUTH TENNIS LEVEL 1 BY LASKAR TENNIS

Heavy Hitters Program is for players ages 14 and Under. This clinic is for those with prior volleyball experience, who want to continue learning the game of volleyball. The class is designed for people who can already perform basic volleyball skills including overhand serve, defense and serve receive formations and transitions. You need to have been promoted from the Beginner program or have previous experience at the high school or club volleyball level. This class builds on basic skills and introduces more advanced offensive and defensive techniques into game play. Participants will be evaluated week 1 to determine if they are qualified for Intermediate, or need to successfully complete the Beginner class first. This class is not for beginners. Create a treasured keepsake for someone special with a handmade fabric postcard. The act of giving someone something handmade lets them know how much you care about them and it becomes a treasured keepsake for many years to come. In this class you will learn the secrets to making a regulation-sized postcard that can be sent through the mail, though some extra postage may be required. This class will be sure to inspire you to create fabric postcards for special occasions and holidays. GET READY FOR PRESCHOOL!
During this program, your 30 - 36 month old child will practice skills that will help him/her prepare for preschool. We will focus on separating from a caregiver, turn-taking with peers, following directions in a group, imitating actions during circle time and having fun with friends. Our daily schedule includes free play, circle time, art, movement, snack and story time. This inclusive group is taught by staff from the Frederick County Infants and Toddlers Program. Caregivers are required to stay on the premises. Please only register for one session as space is limited. This 45 minute class is an introductory class containing ballet tap. Young Dancers will learn the basic ballet and tap steps while learning how to follow directions and imitate movement and gross motor skill development games in a positive and fun environment. Engaging music is used to get these little ones inspired to dance. Uniform- Leotard with skirt of any color, pink tights, tan tap shoes, pink ballet shoes. Recital will be held in December; information on how to purchase recital costumes will be sent in November. No class on 10/14, 10/31 & 11/23. 13 & 14 week sessions.
Barre Above is a totally unique approach to Barre workouts. Fusing the best of Pilates, Yoga, Aerobics, and elements of dancer strengthening exercises. It’s a total body workout any fitness level can achieve. We use compound movements with light weights to work the whole body. Please bring a mat and water bottle. *Class does not meet on 10/31. 8 week session.
*NEW* ADULT BEGINNER II BALLET
Focuses on exercises, techniques and steps of classical ballet with an emphasis on terminology and correct body alignment. Develops an aesthetic awareness of the art of classical ballet. Includes a warm-up at the barre with center floor work and combinations. A continuing class for students who have knowledge of ballet. This class includes more complex material than Beginner I Ballet. Ballet shoes are required. Class does not meet on 10/19, 11/23. 13 week session.

This is a class containing ballet and tap students will develop the skills learned in Tutu Princess class. Young dancers will learn the basic ballet steps while learning how to follow direction and imitate movement. This class is for continuing ballet and tap students to further develop the skills learned in Tap/Ballet 1 class. The class structure includes more elements of a standard ballet class. Students are introduced to basic ballet exercises, and technical elements. The goal of this class is to solidify basic movements and develop greater awareness of technical concepts. Second part of the class will focus on strength of the legs, ankles and feet and control of the tap movements. Uniform- Leotard with skirt of any color, pink tights, tan tap shoes, pink ballet shoes. *PREREQUISITE: students must have completed Tap/Ballet 1 class. No class on 10/31. 14 week session.

MARTIAL ARTS FUNDAMENTALS
This fun-filled class is designed specifically for the developmental needs of children ages 5-7. Through teaching the basics of the martial art known as Tang Soo Do, children will develop the skills of concentration, self-control, and discipline along with the hard and soft components of what most people refer to as Tae Kwon Do. Participants will gain confidence through learning the basic skills of karate such as stances, blocking, striking, and kicking in a safe, clean, and professional environment. Our 6:1 student to teacher ratio and safe training will ensure that your child has a comfortable and exciting first experience! 3 & 5 week sessions.
ADAPTIVE MARTIAL ARTS FUNDAMENTALS

Students with previous tae-kwon-do experience will continue practicing self-defense skills such as blocks, kicks, and strikes. Participants will learn choreographed moves called forms. Also, students will learn various block and counter-attack drills with partners. Bag drills will be used to increase focus, power, and technique. In addition to learning new skills, classes offer increased flexibility, balance, coordination, and muscle memory. Participants will be required to wear a white uniform. All testing will be at the instructor’s discretion and will carry an additional fee. 12 week session.

GET READY FOR PRESCHOOL!
During this program, your 30 - 36 month old child will practice skills that will help him/her prepare for preschool. We will focus on separating from a caregiver, turn-taking with peers, following directions in a group, imitating actions during circle time and having fun with friends. Our daily schedule includes free play, circle time, art, movement, snack and story time. This inclusive group is taught by staff from the Frederick County Infants and Toddlers Program. Caregivers are required to stay on the premises. Please only register for one session as space is limited. If your child has participated in a Get Ready for Preschool group before, your child's name will be placed on a waiting list. In an attempt to provide equal opportunities to families in Frederick County, groups will be filled with first time participants and then the waiting list will be used to fill groups as needed. The Open House for the class will take place on Wednesday, August 30th from 9-10 am, or 10:15-11:15 am, depending on which group you'll be participating in, at the Frederick County Health Department classroom. 10 week session.

Learn all about fall planting and harvesting in our Little Sprouts program! Fall is a busy time for gardening and participants will complete games, crafts, and other activities to learn all about the important tasks done on a farm to get ready for winter and what plants grow best during the fall. MUSEUM ACADEMY
Students will begin each day by examining an artifact from the Museum’s collection that will lead them to discover concepts in history and science related to each session’s theme. Activities are designed to engage students in active learning of numbers, colors, shapes, letters and more. Daily craft time will encourage creativity and development of artistic and fine motor skills. As a Baby Signs Facility we will utilize sign language in daily songs and play. What do Park Rangers do?
The Frederick County Park Ranger Program is an integral part of the Frederick County Division of Parks and Recreation.
Each day, Park Rangers patrol all Frederick County parks, reaching out to park patrons in order to educate them on park resources, or to provide assistance in emergencies.
Park Rangers also enforce Civil and Natural Resources regulations, to ensure that all visitors to Frederick County parks follow all parkland rules and have a safe and enjoyable visit to the park.

Being a Bark Ranger is serious business! In order to become a Bark Ranger, you will need to make a pledge to follow Frederick County Park’s guidelines for pets, being good advocates for our pet policies, and making sure to clean up pet waste. These policies are important because they help preserve the delicate ecosystems of the parks and to protect the land for future generations.

This fun, challenging training program will prepare Tykes (3-7) to run a certain distance based on their age and abilities. Our program is designed to help develop coordination and athleticism in young kids. No matter what sport your kids are getting ready for, running can get them in great condition and help them become balanced, well-rounded athletes. We teach the fundamentals using structured practices, form drills, running specific exercises, and running specific plyometrics. We believe in teaching kids to run correctly, being challenged aerobically each practice, and having fun with running games designed to bring out the competitive spirit. 8 week session.

The 50+ Community Centers offers a variety of fitness classes such as strength training, yoga, Zumba, and line dance.



In addition, social, recreational, and educational programs are scheduled. These include discussion groups, book clubs, film club, drawing class, and health and nutrition programs.

You will receive a registration confirmation via e-mail after your registration is complete so please make sure your e-mail is current in our system. Be sure to verify your receipt for accuracy.
ACCOMMODATIONS
We are able to offer reasonable accommodations, such as providing support staff to individuals with disabilities on an as-needed basis to assist in making the program a positive experience for the individual. To request accommodations, please call 301600-2936 at least two weeks prior to the program start date.
AGE POLICY
Program participants must be the advertised age of the program before the program ends. All age requirements are set to benefit the participants and to make sure the instruction is consistent and safe.
PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS/ WEATHER-RELATED CLOSURES
Please see your instructor on the first day of your program for a schedule. If there is a change in the schedule, you will be informed by Parks and Recreation staff of the update. If you are not sure whether a program will be held, call our program cancellation line at 301-600-6291. During inclement weather, outdoor programs may be cancelled. Every effort will be made to make-up missed classes. Refunds will not be granted for rescheduled classes that are missed due to conflicts with personal schedules. The Division may cancel a program for any reasonable cause.
INCLEMENT WEATHER IN THE
REFUND POLICY
Our refund policy encourages early decisions, so as to not affect other customers or our ability to deliver efficient programs.
All requests for refunds must be made at least 10 business days prior to the start of the program.
A 20% administrative fee will be charged per refund transaction.
There are no refunds for missed classes.
