At Frederick County Parks and Recreation (FCPR), we believe in the power of sports to bring people together, promote wellness, and strengthen our community. Whether you’re joining as an adult or signing up your child, our sports leagues are about more than just the game—they’re about connection, growth, and fun.
Our leagues are designed for participants of all ages, abilities, and experience levels. From youth discovering their passion for play to adults looking to stay active and engaged, we emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect in everything we do. Every player is valued, and diversity in skill, background, and experience enriches the experience for all.
Supported by our dedicated staff, volunteers, and coordinators, FCPR leagues provide a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment. Youth players build confidence, develop skills, and make lasting friendships, while adults enjoy opportunities for recreation, competition, and camaraderie.

Join our new Men’s 3x3 Basketball League for exciting, fast-paced action! Games are held Sunday evenings from 6:00–10:00 PM at the Walkersville Recreation Center, running from January 18 to March 22. Teams must have at least 5 players and no more than 8. Each team will play about seven regular season games followed by postseason playoffs. Team jerseys or shirts are not included.

Women’s Basketball League games will take place on Wednesday evenings from 6:00–9:00 PM at various recreation centers from January 21 to March 25. Game times and locations will change each week based on the team schedule. Teams must have at least 8 players and no more than 15. Each team will play about six regular season games followed by a championship tournament.

Join our 7v7 co-ed outdoor soccer league at Utica Park! Games are played on Friday evenings from 6:00–10:00 PM, running from January 16 to March 18. Teams must have at least 10 players and no more than 16. Each team will play about seven regular season games, followed by postseason playoffs. Team jerseys or shirts are not included.

Monocacy Youth Soccer
Join our fun, co-ed indoor soccer league for kids at Deer Crossing Recreation Center! Games are played once a week on Saturdays from January 24 to March 7, between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Uniforms are provided, and players must wear shin guards and tennis shoes. We rely on parent volunteers to coach, and all coaches receive a discount. Interested in coaching? Contact David Milord at dmilord@frederickcountymd.gov. Soccer experience is not necessary but may be helpful for the older age groups.

Join our Co-Ed Indoor Volleyball League! This 6v6 league plays on Tuesday evenings from 7:00–10:00 PM at the Sugarloaf Recreation Center, running January 20 to March 24. Each team will play about seven regular season games before a postseason playoff and is guaranteed at least one game per week. Teams must have at least two women on the court at all times. An official team roster is required before the season starts. Games are self-officiated, and volleyballs are provided.

We are looking for Youth & Adult League
Officials
We’re hiring officials for our youth and adult sports leagues! The job is part-time, about 4–8 hours per week on weekdays and weekends. Pay is $16 per hour. Applicants must be 16 years or older. This position does not include benefits.
We’re Hiring Sports Referees
This person will have the opportunity to officiate Youth and Adult Basketball, Flag Football, Soccer and Volleyball Leagues. They are expected to maintain a fun and safe environment for all participants. Keeping players safe and players healthy are first concerns, the official will promptly and decisively address unsafe situations as well as unsafe/ inappropriate conduct on the part of coaches, players and spectators. Location, time and duration of each game will depend upon schedule, location and other factors as determined by supervision. Necessary equipment will be provided by the Division of Parks and Recreation.

AGE POLICY
Program participants must be the advertised age for a specific recreational program before that individual program is completed in order to qualify for participation in the program. A program’s timeframe is defined specifically according to the description associated with an assigned program number. All age requirements are set to benefit the participants and to make the instruction consistent and safe.

INCLEMENT WEATHER-RELATED CLOSURES
In times of inclement weather, you can check the status of a program by calling the Program Status Line at 301-600-6291, checking our social media outlets listed below or go to our website (www.recreater.com).
If a program is cancelled due to inclement weather, every effort will be made to make-up missed programs. Refunds will not be granted for rescheduled programs that are missed due to conflicts with personal schedules.

ACCOMMODATIONS
We are able to offer reasonable accommodations, such as providing support staff to individuals with disabilities on an asneeded basis to assist in making the program a positive experience for the individual. CODE OF CONDUCT AND PROCEDURES
CODE OF CONDUCT
Frederick County Parks and Recreation (FCPR) is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all participants and guests. To promote safety and enjoyment for all, FCPR asks individuals to act appropriately at all times while they are visiting FCPR facilities or participating in FCPR leagues.
As a participant in our Leagues, you agree to:
1. Treat other participants, staff, spectators, and officials with respect at all times.
2. Refrain from the use of profanity or obscene gestures.
3. Follow all directions from officials and FCPR staff.
4. Respect the fields, rec centers, equipment, and facility amenities.
5. Promote sportsmanship, safety, and fun above winning.
6. Read and review the league rules, FCPR League Mission Statement, and facility policies.
FCPR has a discipline policy for conduct at recreation programs and facilities. Anyone that violates the Code of Conduct and are asked to leave the league or facility, will not be refunded. County employees are not responsible for league participants prior to, or after, a scheduled games.
FCPR will investigate all reported incidents. Suspension or termination of the FCPR privileges may result if there’s any Code of Conduct violation.
INCLEMENT
CONCUSSION AWARENESS
The registration process for youth sports requires a review of the information on concussions and concussion awareness available on our website www.recreater.com/ concussion. Participants must review the concussion awareness information prior to the first session in order to comply with the state law. If you are unable to review the concussion awareness information online, you must request a written copy from the Division of Parks & Rec by calling 301-600-2936.
INHERENT RISKS
Participants must acknowledge that there are inherent risks and dangers associated with recreation activities and must hold Frederick County, Maryland harmless from all claims for injuries, damage, or loss, which may result from you or your child’s participation.
IMAGE/MEDIA WAIVER
Participants consent to Frederick County, Maryland’s use of the participant’s image and likeness as shown in any photographs, videotapes, motion picture film, or electronic images, and any audio recordings made of the participant’s voice in whatever way the County desires, including television, print and Internet websites. Furthermore, you consent that such photographs, films, recordings, electronic images shall be the sole property of Frederick County, Maryland. Participants have the option to submit a non-consent for the use of images of yourself or your child during online registration or by calling 301-600-2936.
