Land Acknowledgment
Red Deer Polytechnic recognizes that our campus is situated on Treaty 7 land, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the central Alberta region we serve falls under Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree and Saulteaux territory. We honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, and we give thanks for the land where RDP sits. This is where we will strive to honour and transform our relationships with one another.

Since opening, the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre/Centre des Jeux du Canada Gary W. Harris has become an iconic home for sport in Red Deer and central Alberta. In 2023, the Centre welcomed over 275,000 visitors and athletes to the Centre and actively served 44 local sports groups and organizations.
As the legacy facility of the 2019 Canada Winter Games, it offers enhanced programming that promotes healthy lifestyles and community connection through high-performance and recreational athletic training and playing venues, as well as community gathering spaces for central Albertans of all ages.
The Fas Gas - On The Run Gymnasium features 1,200 individual seat capacity, with top-loading access and barrier-free viewing. This space is the home court for RDP Kings and Queens Volleyball and Basketball teams.
The Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre Arena is home to the RDP Kings and Queens Ice Hockey teams as well as available for the public to rent, including for community tournaments, club teams and special events, with seating for up to 1,100 spectators.
