Whenever you hear a Made in Malaysia brand especially lubricant, I’m sure everyone get sceptical especially in when a biker want performance. Well same here when we were called to review to review Jetron lubricant. We know the brand which is based out in the northern part of Malaysia in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. We already were to have an oil change, so what the heck, just give it a test on our long termer three -cylinder Hoonigan 09. Previous grade we test was a 10W/40 synthetic grade which we did 3000km and 3 trackdays at Sepang International Circuit (sorry we cannot disclose the brand) but Hoonigan was asking 15W/50 grade which we felt was suitable for a MT09.Simeon So came 2.4 liters of Jetron fully synthetic Black Gold 10W/50, courtesy of BikEmpire96 Jeff Chin, in to Hoonigan blood, which we will be taking to Malayan 1000 Korner Malaya this weekend 17th & 18th December 2016. So back to our review…..as i mention before we were sceptical at first, but immediately as we rode off
BikEmpire96 after the oil change the three-cylinder engine felt different again, even popping in first gear didn’t have the loud ” Clunk Sound” the Jetron when pop in first gear was so quiet in shifting and changing up and down gear was much smoother. While being smoother in the gear changing, the torque of the Hoonigan seem to start coming back, even from speed of 130-135km/h in 6th gear, just a twist of the throttle “bamm” the Hoonigan goes to 180km/h in an instant, and barely 25km from BE96 to SS2 then back to office, well its too early to say but when you can clutch and pop a wheelie at 3rd gear and exiting a 2nd gear corner while wheel spinning on my Supercorsa sure makes me feel that the 130hp of my Hoonigan 09 is back! Temperature was 99 F at the traffic light but when start moving again it drop to 95 F in less than 150m, not sure that means anything to the normal biker but to us it mean a significant cooling to the hot three-cylinder MT-09. We still got more mileage to clock before we reach an ultimate verdict but so far the first 25km was impressive enough for us not be sceptical about Jetron Black Gold 10W/50.
