Made in China? Yes its made in China

CFMoto’s 250NK is a shining example of new breed of Chinese manufacturer which their motorcycle are made with quality and durability. Cut the Copy & Clone Crap! The 250NK, is the smallest cc available for riders in Malaysia from KTNS CFMoto. It's sharing a platform with its supersport cousin, the coming soon 250SR, including the chassis and engine, albeit with a more relaxed and upright riding position without a fairing. Nakedness doesn’t translate to stripped-down here; CFMoto has brought to market a full-featured small-bore that new riders will find usable and confidence-inspiring. And as skills grows, so will the capability and fun. At RM12,800.00 and RM13,800.00 (for ABS & TFT version) the NK is one of the lowest-priced in the naked class. Sharp lines and LED headlights, taillight, upside-down front forks and including a more premium NK with TFT meter(ABS Version), are what you would expect from more expensive machines. CFMoto is one of the leading Chinese motorcycle manufacturer rising ahead technology partnership with KTM. NK’s engine loves to be revved; it’s not a torquey bike, but a short first and second gear gets it off the line quick enough to surprise for many red-light jockeys. Third and fourth gear is where the NK finds its groove on the back roads. Off-corner grunt is smooth, predictable, but not prodigious. Momentum is your friend when riding a 250cc, so max out on the throttle, always! Once in the upper rev range, it builds entertaining power—still smooth and friendly. Do lug it out of corners and for sure a smile will emerge.

Rear suspension duties are handled what should be based on WP technology as the suspension provider to CFMoto. While at the front, the NK gets softer front springs in an inverted fork. Compression damping has also been decreased for a less aggressive ride. Riding on a new route to Kerling narrow roads filled with cows dropping, to a short 5km off roads detour and then to Batangkali ‘s Kg Sg Tima to the river for a quick dip in the clear water. But despite the decrease in compression damping and lighter fork spring, the NK is compliant on less-than-perfect roads without an overly soft or too mellow feel, but let’s be clear the target customer for this machine the riders won’t have any issue. Overall it’s impressive the ride quality CFMoto was able to provide on a budget-minded motorcycle. The 300mm single front disc is matched to a twin-piston J Juan front caliper, and has a beginner-friendly initial bite with adequate power for the NK’s intended usage. When more is asked and you get deep into the lever, the front brake feels wooden—squeeze harder and nothing happens past a certain point. But this is right at the performance envelope of the bike. In 90% of duty, the front brake is just fine. At the rear, the single-piston caliper and 220mm disc have plenty of power and feel. Overall, the NK is a great naked machine, for all riders. Just as CFMoto has promised, it’s a great entry into the 250 naked lineup that provides enough performance to entertain new riders and also riders with more experience.

i-Moto New bikes: Coming soon! The MY2020 TVS Apache RR 310 has been launched in India on the 30th of January 2020. Introduced at the end of December 2017, and an update in 2019 with “ART" slipper clutch, the MY2020 Apache RR310 continues to improve on with electronics & user interaction, while maintaining the same trellis frame, split chassis, engine and faring design, only with a new front double bubble visor and new colour, Titanium Black. The Red edition remains. The MY2020 Apache RR310 has been updated with four riding modes and a new 5-inch TFT instrumentation, that looks like a phone on the dash. That’s not all….. The MY2020 Apache RR310 has the same 312.2 cc reverse inclined, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. But the overall kerb weight has increased from 169.5 kg to 174 kg. New updates to the MY2020 is happening more, internally and electronically. Its great as these features a refreshing sign for mass production models. This is the first time that TVS has implemented ride modes and TFT meter screens on its motorcycle models. Another addon on the MY2020 RR310 is the electronically aided ride-by-wire throttle with the four ride modes, Sport, Track, Urban and Rain, and the modes can be shifted on the fly. The engine is reported to produce 34hp and 27.3Nm of torque in Sport and Track mode. In Urban and Rain modes power is reduced to 26hp and 25Nm of torque. In Urban & Rain mode, the top speed of the TVS Apache RR 310 is limited to 125 km/h. In Track & Sport mode, which can be activated after 1,000 km of run-in period is completed, the TVS Apache RR 310 has claimed a top speed of 160 km/h but I’m sure it could be more. New 5-inch TFT instrumentation replaces the LCD unit that comes with SmartXonnect with Bluetooth, now TVS comes out with a Smart bike, which let riders get connected with their machines. It supports turn by turn navigation, call accept (or reject), and ride analytics. Besides that, the display can be extended to an auxiliary screen to allow detailed ride telemetry. The new display also comes with a day and night mode. The My2020 RR310 looks like having a phone planted on the meter cluster and the uniqueness of the TFT is that the position is vertical, and does look like a smartphone attached.

Another electronic update is GTT+ (Glide Through Traffic Plus) a feature that was first on the 2020 RTR Series, now makes part of the equipment list of the new RR 310. So whats a GTT+? GTT+ aims to reduce rider fatigue since the bike will not need throttle input to move forward, only through clutch release at low speeds during bumper to bumper traffic. The feature works only in first and second gear in Sport and Track mode, and in all gears in Urban and Rain mode. Riding telemetry can also be accessed via a supporting smartphone application. And it gets better with the rubbers, the 2020 TVS Apache RR 310's are “stock tyred with the TVS Michelin Road 5, which gives the best-in-class wet grip. Let us hope the MY2020 TVS Apache RR310 will start its onslaught of Apache sports models on to the Malaysia road via TVS Malaysia & Brunei distributor Daju Motors Sdn Bhd.

But what happens when your stock suspension has already reached its peak life? You will get jittery handling, sagging, and no rebound or compression. Worst it could happen is a crash or an accident. On our smaller capacity bike during the Covid19 Movement Restriction Order (MRO), I rode mostly my small capacity bike as it’s so convenient to go around quickly to the grocery store and to go get food takeaways. As it is a 3-year-old bike, the stock suspension has lost all of its rebound. It was time to change as the rear monoshock just doesn’t give the same confidence negotiating normal corners on the road, worst is wet roads after a heavy downpour, it wasn’t ridable at all, at least while negociating wide corners even while going slow. Most workshops weren’t open during the MRO period, I found a workshop that has a 208mm RCB M2 line monoshock suspension for Yamaha Y15Z which I replace immediately and gave me the

confidence to ride the motorcycle again. The M2 was a good upgrade from the dead stock suspension. (dead here means the monoshock has lost all rebound and compression) Despite an entry lever suspension with cost RM200 including installation, I would still need to change my tyres to get better performance. 2 weeks later, I decided to upgrade to the premium RCB DB2/DB-2+ 208mm for Y15Z. There few variants to the DB2, 203mm for LC135, and 229mm for Honda RS150. Immediately there was as much as 50% improvement in handling and rear tyre feel, from the entry level M2 right out of the box without tweaking the adjustable rebound and compression yet. DB2 plus is the latest monoshock suspension from RCB that comes with an extra softer spring coil. (for a more comfortable ride)

#GETD SHARPER KTM 890 DUKE R The KTM 890 DUKE R delivers exactly what you’d expect from its R-rating. An aggressive, track-ready seating position, race-bred WP suspension and a blistering 121 hp compel you to slice through apexes with laser-like accuracy.

THE BEAST

What do we mean by ‘ultimate’? Well, for all its enhanced power from the strongest V-Twin engine on the market, THE BEAST is the epitome of performance, usability, versatility and style. The almost over whelming sensation from this reworked and reimagined flagship motorcycle is one of endless torque. It’s our highest and best benchmark yet. We know you’ll agree.

i-moto.my New bike KTM initially wow-ed the industry with the presentation of the KTM 990 SUPER DUKE more than fifteen years ago and then dropped jaws by unveiling the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R in 2014. Rider and consumer response to the speed, handling and superior technical specs of the motorcycle carved its place as a peerless Naked bike: a machine as unforgettable for the commotion it evoked as the distinctive look it portrayed. In 2017 THE BEAST 2.0 benefitted from engine upgrades and other significant tweaks in order to maintain its status. Now it’s time for the ‘third coming’ of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R.

THE BEAST

SUSPENSION Cohesion and co-ordination of the latest chassis

engineering for the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R meant diligent work with WP Suspension. For the front forks the WP APEX system with split function (compression and rebound on either side) ensures the motorcycle has the staple level of stability

and handling to deliver that premium race/ride sensation. The WP APEX is fully adjustable – the preload as a new feature – and comes with a larger cartridge for improved damping. Towards the rear of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R and the WP APEX shock is another fresh inclusion for the 2020 machine. The unit boasts separate gas/oil reservoirs placed into a ‘piggyback’ form which compacts the mass of the shock and also shrinks the weight. Another 200 grams was

chopped from the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R. The shock is completely adjustable, and the preload can be tweaked manually without the need for tools. The short stroke helps towards the minimalist form of the WP APEX and the progressive damping character with the linkage is another strong portion of the heightened feeling of security whether on road or racetrack.

i-moto.my New bike BODYWORK KTM have reached for novel looks to compliment

the 2020 KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R package. Every angle contributes to the meaner, moodier and pointed demeanor of the 2020 edition. A new reshaped 16-liter steel fuel tank offers an improved buttress for the rider but is also the result of intense scrutiny for thickness and weight saving possibilities across the bike’s entire bodywork. Away from hands and feet and it’s a rider’s ass that bears true testimony to the worthiness of a naked bike and both the principle and pillion seats are performance-focused but softened and remade for optimum road comfort. Aesthetically KTM have opted for two liveries – black and orange – and have kept true to the sharper modernization of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R by choosing black wheels and centralizing the new chassis as a key visual mark of the bike.

Upgrading my ride!

We continue our modification and customization to our Yello Mello with a new monoshock from Racing Boy (RCB) M2 Line forY15ZR (208mm), we’ve brought one today as the standard one that was fitted from the manufacturer wasn’t giving the handling and the confidence on the Skyteam PBR110, I wanted after I had upgraded the front forks oil to a higher viscosity fork oil. (done at Chia Motor PJ) Of course, a proper front fork service is only half of the equation, so here we after 2 weeks of jittery riding we finally got it changed. Immediately the handling was improved. Although the chosen monoshock was not the top of the line from RCB the rear felt much better and confidence improved tremendously. The rear 10 inch tyre does give a better traction now compare to the stock mono.

Y15ZR (208mm Yellow Coils, just like Ohlins and matching with Yello Mello) and Honda RS150 (225mm Red Coils).

Rear Mono brought & installed at Advanced Cycle Sales & Service Centre Address: No. 86, Jalan SS 4A/1, Sri Setia Sungai Way, 47300 Petaling Jaya. Front Fork service with thicker viscosity fork oil done at Chia Motor PJ. Address: No. 11, Jalan 21/17, Sea Park, 46300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor

You might be pleasantly surprised how a proper shock will transform your ride. Well worth the RM200 spend on the RCB mono with installation. The M2 line has 3 mono variant, each to fit 3 moped models, Yamaha LC135 (203mm Red Coils),Yamaha

REASONS TO RIDE

Want to be a better human being and live a better life? Find out how motorcycles will do more than just make you look cool. 1. Riding A Motorcycle Makes You Cool "When you see someone on a motorcycle, it doesn't matter what kind, you think: Its so cool and where they are going? This is the heart of all other reasons to ride a bike and the of coolness comes from respectfulness toward other bikers. Bikers are a cool lot! 2. You'll Find Your Zen Part of being cool as a motorcyclist is you don't get upset when it's hot or rain. Regular and intelligent ride you'll be less enraged by other road users. Because you know centering your anger on one person or thing only results in lost concertation. On the road, the constant monitoring of your situation— speed, angle, body posture, road condition, lane position, possible hazards, etc. For me it serves as a meditation that clears your mind of the unnecessary and proven to lessen the everyday stresses'. On a bike you find mindfulness and inner peace with your self, some of which will stay with you, even when you’re off the bike. Good gears are important too for safe and happy commuting but mindful it may not come cheap. But that said I'm still willing to bet my last Ringgit that the motorbike will comes out tops as a great stress reliever.

3. Commuting is Easier and More Fun Riding a bike makes more sense for everyday transport. Riding a motorcycle means you will get to work sooner and with less frustration in the traffic. There's plenty of advantage to getting to work on two wheels. The financial benefit is bikes can be fuel efficient. A good 250cc machine will give you upward of 100km with 2.5 litre with basic maintenance (e.g., oil changes) is easier on a motorcycle, you can save some cash there too if you DiY. Don’t forget there are no tolls fees too. Find a parking is easier and parking is low and even bike parks free in many places! 4. Mother Earth Will Thank You With the era of 4-Strokes, modern motorcycles are much greener now. As a knock-on effect of fuel efficiency, motorcycles are a greener choice of transportation. But maybe not so much if you're still thrashing around on a twostroke, but any modern bike will have to meet increasingly strict environmental Euro standards. If your engine is running for less time, it spends less time putting crap CO2 in the air. If you go electric, even better, of course!

5. Your Health Will Improve Some claimed riding motorcycles will help you lose weight. We bikers burns more calories in an hour riding a motorcycle than driving a car. Wearing a full suit in the scorching heat is also a good weight-loss technique improving and generally happier, more confidant, kinder so the simple truth bikers usually have the right attitude. 6. You will meet the Nicest People Using terms like "brotherhood" or "sisterhood" in applying the connection between motorcyclists quickly. The idea of there being a special bond between the purchasers of a mass produced item is silly. I am no more spiritually linked to other motorcyclists than I am other consumers of Kraft macaroni and cheese. And yet, and yet... there is something. Depending on the country, you'll be greeted by waves or nods or extended feet when you pass other riders. Motorcycling induces a small town friendliness among its participants, no matter where they are in the world. Showing up somewhere on a bike means people will go out of their way to talk to you, to share stories. If you're open to this, you'll find yourself meeting people with whom you might otherwise never have had an opportunity to interact, people from outside your socioeconomic/ religious/racial circles. And you will be better for it.

8. Connection to the people 7. Freedom and the world around you "Freedom" is such an overused word I sometimes question The freedom you gain from riding whether anyone really knows a motorcycle helps you what it means. But I can't think appreciate the things in your life of a better one to use in because you'll know you are free describing the sense of selfto be a part of them but not sufficiency and independence obligated. The people and things that comes from the simple act you care about are things you've of getting on a bike and twisting chosen to care about. the throttle. But beyond that you will find We live in a jittery world; an even greater connection to there are so many demands for your surroundings, one that can our attention. On a bike you feel like a fantastic (when you're riding complete human being, not an through a thunder storm or insignificant part of something behind a pungent garbage truck, else. And with this knowledge for example), but soon you find you'll find your interactions with you're willing to tolerate the your partner, kids, family, job, occasional negative for the sake ambitions and so on, will of being able to fully experience improve. the positives.

9. It can be damned exciting I'm slightly averse to hyping the thrill aspect of motorcycling because too often it gets phrased in terms of fear and risk. In and of themselves, I'm not the sort of person who likes those things, and I suspect there are plenty of people who would be put off by them. I mean, imagine trying to sell the idea of motorcycling to your mother: "It's great, Mom, because there's an increased probability of your dying in horrible ways." Nope! That doesn't work for me. But I will admit that there is an adrenaline aspect. When I push the bike above the speed limit, or swoop through a section of corners, or again make an unsuccessful attempt at a wheelie, there is that rush of buzzing happiness and giggling laughter. That is, without question, one of the reasons I ride. For some people it is the only reason they ride. Regardless of your attitude toward risk (remember, because you are free on a motorcycle you are equally free to make decisions that mitigate risk) there's no denying that motorcycling is fun. What did I miss? Despite the fact this article is really long, I feel I've forgotten one or two other reasons for riding. If you're one of the people who's taken the time to read the above (thank you!), rather than skipping straight to the comments to complain about a list, I'd appreciate your adding to it. What did I miss? If you were trying to convince someone to take up riding, what would you tell them?
