RBWH FOUNDATION CEO
Thank you to the extraordinary philanthropic community of RBWH donors I feel enormous pride and gratitude to our philanthropic community which shares our purpose of saving lives through the extraordinary power of giving.
I am delighted to congratulate Susan Buckley on her appointment as the RBWH Foundation Board Chair. Susan has been an invaluable member of our Board for the past three years, most recently as Investment Committee Chair. Despite the impact of COVID-19 over the past 12 months, there is much for RBWH Foundation to celebrate. This year, we have undertaken significant planning and engagement to reaffirm our purpose and commitment to the RBWH and support of patient care and life-saving research. Donors who support these programs make a difference to our patients and their families now and into the future. The Coronavirus Action Fund has continued to assist the global search for effective treatments of COVID-19 through partnership in the Australasian COVID-19 Trial (ASCOT). The Fund has also been pivotal in establishing a new Herston Infectious Diseases Institute, creating a legacy for generations to come. The RBWH Foundation’s milestone $5-million investment in the healthcare revolution,
THE IMPACT OF YOUR GENEROSITY IN 2021
led by personalised 3D bioprinting, was realised with the opening of the Herston Biofabrication Institute in early 2021. Your generosity is also helping ‘Close the Gap’ in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health equality through our contribution to an Australian first, the First Peoples Health and Research Alliance. RBWH Burns and Trauma care received a signif icant corporate gift which has funded new Research Fellowships and innovative research projects at the Herston Biofabrication Institute and Queensland Skin Culture Centre. This has all been made possible by you. I feel enormous pride and gratitude to our philanthropic community which shares our purpose of saving lives through the extraordinary power of giving. The RBWH Foundation hopes you enjoy reading more about the impact you have made on health care in Queensland, Australia, and indeed, the world. Simone Garske RBWH Foundation CEO
