Heb je dat ook? Als het lente wordt, heb je het snel warm en geniet je van de eerste zonnestralen, maar als het herfst wordt, lijken diezelfde zonnestralen en dezelfde temperaturen veel kouder. Alsof je lijf zich er al op heeft ingesteld dat de herfst zijn intrede doet en de winter in aantocht is.

Do you know the feeling? When spring arrives, you quickly feel warm and enjoy the first rays of sunshine, but when autumn comes, the same sunshine and the same temperatures seem much colder. It is as if your body has already adjusted to the fact that autumn is coming and winter is approaching.

Ik wikkel me al snel graag in een dekentje, op zoek naar een knus gevoel. Maar dat knusse gevoel krijg je natuurlijk niet alleen op je bank, in tegendeel! Ga maar eens op pad als de dagen weer donkerder worden; achter de ramen van restaurants, bars en winkels oogt het warm en gezellig. Sfeervolle verlichting, warme drankjes, de geuren van lekker eten lijken veel intenser. Overal staat de verwarming aan dus ook de musea en andere bezienswaardigheden op binnenlocaties geven je een warm gevoel als je ze bezoekt. Rondom de feestdagen word je op al die dingen nog eens extra getrakteerd en haast overal kun je lekker makkelijk naar binnen kijken, leuk!

Maar niet alleen binnen zijn is fijn. Tijdens zonnige herfsten winterdagen moet ik zo nu en dan gewoon even naar buiten! Dan verlang ik intens naar een koude neus, koude vingertoppen en frisse lucht. Ik houd ervan om met mijn gezin of met vrienden letterlijk een frisse neus te halen en te genieten van de geuren van de natuur. Of we dat lopend doen in “onze” Brabantse Sahara, De Loonse en Drunense Duinen, of op de fiets maakt me niet uit. Naast frisse lucht snuif ik ook graag wat cultuur op tijdens een speurtocht in Waalwijk, Heusden of een historische wandelroute in Loon op Zand. Uiteraard sluiten we dan af met een warme chocomel mét slagroom en kruip ik weer lekker onder een dekentje, want die liggen op veel (verwarmde) terrassen klaar.

Ik zou zeggen; ga eropuit en geniet - zowel binnen als buiten - samen met je vrienden en familie van de donkere dagen. De Langstraat heeft alle ingrediënten om de herfst en winter te verwarmen en optimaal te beleven. Misschien komen we elkaar wel tegen!

I soon like to wrap myself up in a blanket to feel more comfortable. But of course, you don’t get that cosy feeling only on your sofa, quite the contrary! Go out as the days get darker again; behind the windows of restaurants, bars and shops it looks warm and cosy. Atmospheric lighting, warm drinks and the smell of good food all seem more intense. Heating is on everywhere, so museums and other indoor attractions feel warm when you visit them. During the festive season, you can enjoy all these things even more, and almost everywhere you can easily look inside, which is nice!

But being indoors is not the only thing that is nice. On sunny autumn and winter days, I just have to get out once in a while! Then I crave a cold nose, cold fingertips and fresh air. I love to literally take a breath of fresh air with my family or friends and enjoy the scents of nature. It doesn’t matter to me whether we do this on foot in “our” Brabant Sahara, De Loonse en Drunense Duinen, or by bike. In addition to the fresh air, I also like to get a taste of culture during a scavenger hunt in Waalwijk, Heusden or a historical walk in Loon op Zand. Of course, I always finish off with a hot chocolate with whipped cream and then crawl back under the blanket that many (heated) terraces have.

I would say: get out and enjoy the dark days - both indoors and outdoors - with your friends and family. De Langstraat has all the ingredients to warm you up and make the most of autumn and winter. Maybe we’ll bump into each other!

De Langstraat

In deze ‘tuin van Brabant’ komen families en vrienden samen om te ontspannen en onvergetelijke herinneringen te creëren. Gelegen tussen de bruisende steden ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Tilburg en Breda, biedt deze regio met de Gemeenten Dongen, Waalwijk, Loon op Zand en Heusden een overvloed aan toeristische parels die absoluut een bezoek waard zijn. Ontdek de ruime groene vrijetijdsregio die begrensd wordt door de Bergse Maas en geniet van alles wat De Langstraat te bieden heeft.

Van hoe het begon…

“De Langhe Streat” is ontstaan naar aanleiding van de sint Elisabethvloed in 1421. Deze ‘straat’ werd aangelegd bij Baardwijk in 1461 en kennen we nu als de “Winterdijk”. Een dijk die in een toentertijd moerassig landschap tussen het Oude Maasje en de hoger gelegen Brabantse zandgronden ligt.

Langs deze dijk ontstonden nieuwe nederzettingen, waarbij sommige werden verplaatst naar het zuiden van de dijk als gevolg van overstromingen. In dit gebied bloeide de veehouderij en het ambacht van leerlooien en schoenmaken op. Deze industrieën floreerden dankzij de beschikbaarheid van grondstoffen zoals leer en het vruchtbare land voor veeteelt.

In de 19e eeuw groeide De Langstraat dankzij drie essentiële voorwaarden uit tot het belangrijkste centrum van de schoenen leerindustrie. Namelijk veeteelt, eikenbomen en stromend water.

… tot nu Vandaag de dag kun je nog steeds historische plekken van deze industrieën vinden in De Langstaat. Denk aan oude fabrieken, villa’s van fabriekslieden, arbeidswoningen en leerlooierijcomplexen.

Een bijzonder voorbeeld is het Halvezolenpad, dat vroeger onderdeel was van de Spoorlijn Geertruidenberg-’sHertogenbosch. Deze spoorlijn stond bekend als de ‘halve zolenlijn’ vanwege de vele schoenfabrieken langs het spoor. Schoenverkopers maakten gebruik van deze lijn om hun modellen aan te bieden aan klanten door het hele land.

From how it started...

“De Langhe Streat” was created as a result of the St. Elisabeth’s flood in 1421. This “street” was constructed at Baardwijk in 1461 and is now known as the “Winterdijk”. A dike in what was then a swampy landscape between the Oude Maasje and the higher Brabant sandy soils.

New settlements were established along this dike, some of which were moved south of the dike due to flooding. Livestock farming and the craft of leather tanning and shoemaking flourished in this area. These industries flourished thanks to the availability of raw materials such as leather and the fertile land for cattle breeding.

In the 19th century, De Langstraat became the most important centre of the shoe and leather industry thanks to three essential conditions. Cattle breeding, oak trees and running water.

... until now

Today, you can still find the historical sites of these industries in De Langstaat. These include old factories, factory workers’ villas, workers’ houses and tannery complexes.

A special example is the Halvezolenpad, which used to be part of the Geertruidenberg-’s-Hertogenbosch railway line. This railway line was known as the ‘Halve zolenlijn’ because of the many shoe factories along the line. Shoe sellers used this line to offer their models to customers all over the country.

De Loonse en Drunense Duinen

In Nationaal Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen vind je bos, heide en heel veel stuifzand. Deze Brabantse Sahara is zelfs een van de grootste stuifzandgebieden van West-Europa. Al meer dan 100 jaar wordt dit unieke gebied beschermd en kun je er genieten van wandel-, ruiter-, fiets- en mountainbikeroutes. Bij de horecagelegenheden in het park kun je ook vanuit je luie stoel genieten van de frisse boslucht en mooie natuur.

Huis ter Heide

Wat een heerlijke herfstdag is het vandaag! Andrea van Hal besluit dat het een prachtige dag is voor een wandeling in de natuur. Ook haar kinderen Nandini (11), Jana (9) en Pablo (7) hebben enorm veel zin in een dagje ravotten in de bossen.

Andrea pakt snel wat spullen in. Het zonnetje mag dan wel schijnen, de mutsen en sjaals gaan zeker ook mee. Ze vult nog een thermoskan met warme chocolademelk en stopt voor de zekerheid nog gauw een paraplu in haar tas. Het is en blijft herfst.

What a lovely autumn day today! Andrea van Hal decides it is a beautiful day for a walk in nature. Her children Nandini (11), Jana (9) and Pablo (7) are also hugely looking forward to a day romping in the woods.

Andrea quickly packs her things. The sun may be shining, but the hats and scarves will definitely have to go. She fills another thermos with hot chocolate and tucks an umbrella into her bag, just in case. It is autumn after all.

“Waar gaan we naar toe mama?” vraagt Nandini wanneer ze naar de auto lopen. Andrea vertelt over het natuurgebied ‘Huis ter Heide’ in De Moer, vlak bij de Efteling, waar je – met een beetje geluk – oog in oog kan komen te staan met Schotse Hooglanders. “Runderen met lange haren” licht ze toe wanneer haar kinderen haar vragend aankijken. “Zijn die niet gevaarlijk dan?” vraagt Pablo. Gelukkig kan Andrea hem geruststellen. De Schotse Hooglanders zijn perfecte grazers, ze worden in het natuurgebied ingezet als natuurlijke grasmaaiers. Ze eten maar liefst 20 kilo aan grassen en jonge boompjes per dag en houden daarmee de heide en graslanden open. De fotogenieke beesten zijn zelfvoorzienend en helpen het natuurlijk beheer. Hun karakter is vreedzaam, maar het zijn en blijven wilde dieren. Houd dus altijd gepaste afstand en kom nooit tussen moeder en haar kalf.

“Where are we going mummy?” asks Nandini as they walk to the car. Andrea tells about the Huis ter Heide nature reserve in De Moer, near the Efteling, where - with a bit of luck - you can come face to face with Highland cows. “Cattle with long hair”, she explains when her children look at her questioningly. “Aren’t they dangerous then?” asks Pablo. Fortunately, Andrea is able to reassure him. The Highland cows are perfect grazers, used as natural grass cutters in the nature reserve. They eat as much as 20 kilos of grass and saplings a day, keeping the moors and grasslands open. The photogenic animals are self-sufficient and help with natural management. Their nature is peaceful, but they are still wild animals. So always keep an appropriate distance and never get between a mother and her calf.

Andrea parkeert haar auto op een van de parkeerplaatsen aan de rand van natuurgebied Huis ter Heide. Van daaruit loopt het viertal zo het bos in. “Het ruikt echt lekker hier!” roept Jana terwijl ze vrolijk voor het gezelschap uit huppelt. Al snel komen ze bij een informatiebord waarop ze met behulp van een plattegrond de route kunnen bepalen. Ze bestuderen meteen ook de informatie over de planten en dieren die er te vinden zijn en vervolgen dan hun weg. Inmiddels heeft Pablo een mooie grote stok gevonden en loopt ermee rond als een ware herder. “Het zou wel mooi zijn als we die Schotse Hooglanders zien, of niet Pablo?” vraagt Nandini aan haar broertje, die al tussen de bomen aan het rondspeuren is.

Andrea parks her car in one of the car parks on the edge of the Huis ter Heide nature reserve. From there, the foursome walks straight into the forest. “It smells really good here!” shouts Jana as she happily hops ahead of the party. Soon they come to an information board where they can use a map to determine the route. They also immediately study the information about the plants and animals to be found there and then continue on their way. Meanwhile, Pablo has found a nice big stick and walks around with it like a real shepherd. “It would be nice to see these Highland cows, wouldn’t it Pablo?” asks Nandini to her little brother, who is already poking around among the trees.

De wandeling komt uit bij het Leikeven. Over een deel van het ven loopt een vlonderpad, Hoewel momenteel het waterpeil laag is, maakt dit de wandeling niet minder magisch. De wandelaars worden er sowieso getrakteerd op een prachtig weids uitzicht. Andrea en haar kinderen blijven er even van genieten. Ze zien veel vogels boven het ven en op de achtergrond draaien de windmolens overuren. Ze zijn er allemaal stil van en concluderen dat Nederland echt heel mooi is.

Ondanks dat de Schotse Hooglanders regelmatig komen drinken bij het Leikeven hebben Andrea en haar kinderen hen nog niet gespot. “Maar ze zullen niet ver van het ven vandaan zijn” concludeert Andrea. Ze vervolgen hun weg over het vlonderpad en komen weer op een bospad terecht. De zon schijnt heerlijk tussen de bomen door en de kleuren van de herfst worden daardoor extra geaccentueerd. Jana heeft een mooie paddenstoel gevonden, rood met witte stippen. Ze probeert de stipjes te tellen, maar geeft het op wanneer ze haar zus een paraplu met bladeren ziet vullen. Boven hun hoofd openen ze de paraplu en staan in een regen van bladeren. Wat een lol!

The walk ends at the Leikeven. A boardwalk crosses part of the fen, and although the water level is low at the moment, this does not make the walk any less magical. The walkers are rewarded with beautiful views. Andrea and her children continue to enjoy it for a while. They see many birds over the fen and in the background the windmills are working overtime. They are all silent and come to the conclusion that the Netherlands really is very beautiful.

Although the Highland cows regularly come to drink at the Leikeven, Andrea and her children have not yet spotted them. “But they won’t be far from the fen”, Andrea concludes. They continue along the path and rejoin a forest track. The sun is shining brightly through the trees, bringing out the autumn colours. Jana has found a beautiful mushroom, red with white dots. She tries to count the dots, but gives up when she sees her sister filling an umbrella with leaves. Over their heads, they open the umbrella and stand in a rain of leaves. What fun!

En dan is het zover: midden op het pad zien ze een kudde Schotse Hooglanders staan. Pablo kijkt zijn ogen uit. “Wauw, ik hoopte dat we er 1 of 2 zouden zien, maar dit zijn er veel meer!” Op een veilige afstand blijven ze de hardwerkende grazers even bewonderen. Om de dieren niet te storen lopen de avonturiers een stukje door het bos om even verderop weer op het pad terecht te komen.

De fijne, avontuurlijke wandeling wordt afgesloten met een drankje bij De Zwammenberg, een restaurant vlakbij natuurgebied Huis ter Heide. Andrea vindt dat ze allemaal wel wat lekkers hebben verdiend dus ze bestellen er een heerlijk gebakje bij. Samen kletsen en lachen ze wat af. Het was een geslaagd en avontuurlijk uitje.

And then it happens: in the middle of the path they see a herd of Highland cows. Pablo’s eyes widen. “Wow, I was hoping we would see 1 or 2, but there are a lot more!” At a safe distance, they continue to admire the industrious grazers for a while. So as not to disturb the animals, the adventurers walk through the forest for a while before returning to the path a little further along.

This beautiful, adventurous walk ends with a drink at De Zwammenberg, a restaurant near the Huis ter Heide nature reserve. Andrea thinks they all deserve a treat so they order a delicious pastry. They chat and laugh a lot. It was a successful and adventurous outing.

Er is hier een groot aanbod aan wandelroutes te vinden, waarbij deze route een uitstekende keuze is wanneer je met jonge kinderen op pad gaat. Het routeboekje ‘Keien lopen, een speurtocht door Heusden’ leidt jullie door het pittoreske historische stadje.

De speurtocht leg je af aan de hand van foto’s van bezienswaardigheden en 24 vragen. Ieder goed antwoord geeft een letter. Heb je alle juiste letters kunnen vinden, dan vormen deze letters samen de oplossing! Het speurtochtboekje kost slechts €2,50 en is te koop is bij TIP Heusden (Pelsestraat 17).

The fortified town of Heusden is a wonderful place for young and old to explore. There are many walking routes, and this one is an excellent choice if you are out and about with young children. The route booklet ‘Keien lopen, een speurtocht door Heusden (Boulder walk, a scavenger hunt through Heusden)’ takes you through the picturesque historic town.

You complete the scavenger hunt with pictures of landmarks and 24 questions. For each correct answer you receive a letter. If you manage to find all the correct letters, they will form the solution! The booklet costs only € 2.50 and is available at TIP Heusden (Pelsestraat 17).

WO2 monumenten

Op diverse plekken in De Langstraat vind je nog restanten terug uit de tijd van de Tweede Wereldoorlog of zaken die de oorlog gedenken. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de bomkraters en loopgraven in De Loonse en Drunense Duinen. In Waalwijk is in het kader van 75 jaar Bevrijding een fietsroute ontwikkeld die leidt langs WO2 monumenten, beelden, plaquettes en gedenkplaatsen in Waalwijk, Sprang-Capelle en Waspik.

Het routekaartje en de routebeschrijving vind je in het bijbehorende boekje, waarin tevens de 22 monumenten en gedenkplaatsen worden toegelicht. Dit boekje kun je gratis downloaden op onze website of afhalen bij een van de Toeristische Informatiepunten in De Langstraat.

WW2 monuments

In various places in De Langstraat, you can still find remnants from the time of World War II or things that commemorate the war. Think, for example, of the bomb craters and trenches in De Loonse en Drunense Duinen. In Waalwijk, as part of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands, a cycle route has been set up that takes you past the World War II monuments, statues, plaques and memorials in Waalwijk, Sprang-Capelle and Waspik.

The route map and directions can be found in the accompanying booklet, which also describes the 22 monuments and memorial sites. You can download this booklet for free on our website or pick it up at one of the Tourist Information Points in De Langstraat.

Natuurlijk ben je ook van harte welkom om deze heerlijke pannenkoek bij D’n Berepot zelf te komen proeven!

Ingrediënten beslag pannenkoek:

Aantal: 8-10 personen

• 250 gram bloem

• 2 grote eieren

• 500 milliliter melk

• boter

Ingrediënten Langstraatje Speciaal:

Aantal: 1 personen

• 3 plakken pannenkoekspek

• Handje gesneden blokjes paprika

• Handje gesnipperde ui

• Handje gesneden champignons (dunne plakjes)

• Handje hamblokjes

• 3 plakken salami

• Geraspte kaas

• Knoflooksaus

1. We beginnen met het maken van het beslag. Doe de bloem, eieren, helft van de melk en een mespunt zout in een kom en meng met een garde of met een mixer tot een glad beslag. Tot slot voeg je het laatste deel van de melk toe, mix nog goed door en laat het beslag een half uur rusten.

2. Neem de grootste koekenpan die je hebt, doe er een klontje boter in en laat de pan héél heet worden. Gooi vervolgens de gesmolten boter weg, want deze is inmiddels verbrand. En zet het vuur laag.

3. Doe een nieuw klontje boter in de pan en laat deze weer eerst goed smelten. Vervolgens doe je de 3 plakjes spek in de pan, gevolgd door de paprika, ui, champignons en laat 1 minuut meebakken.

4. Neem een soeplepel om het beslag met een draaiende beweging over de ingrediënten te gieten. Draai vervolgens de pan zodat het beslag gelijkmatig wordt verdeeld. Strooi de hamblokjes in het beslag en dep deze in met een spatel. Zet het vuur middelhoog en laat de pannenkoek 2-3 minuten bakken. De pannenkoek mag omgedraaid worden zodra de bovenkant droog is en de onderkant gekleurd.

5. Om de pannenkoek te draaien gebruik je de grootste deksel die je kan vinden. Zorg dat de pannenkoek los in de pan ligt en schuif deze in één beweging op je deksel. Plaats vervolgens de pan op de deksel en draai de pan met de deksel 180 graden zodat de bovenkant van de pannenkoek nu onderop in de pan ligt. Zet het vuur laag.

6. Leg op de pannenkoek 3 plakjes salami en bestrooi met de geraspte kaas. Plaats vervolgens de deksel op de pan zodat de kaas lekker kan smelten.

7. Nadat de pannenkoek nog 2-3 minuten gebakken heeft en de kaas gesmolten is laat je deze uit de pan glijden op een groot rond bord.

8. Zet een schaaltje knoflooksaus op de pannenkoek.

9. Geniet van je zelfgemaakte Langstraatje Speciaal Pannenkoek!

D’n Berepot in Nieuwkuijk has a very special pancake on the menu: ‘De Langstraatje Speciaal’. They are happy to share this recipe with us so that everyone can enjoy this Berepot Special at home. Of course, you are also more than welcome to come taste this delicious pancake at D’n Berepot!

Ingredients batter pancake:

Number: 8-10 people

• 250 grams of flour

• 2 large eggs

• 500 millilitres of milk

• butter

Ingredients Langstraatje Speciaal:

Number: 1 person

• 3 slices of pancake bacon

• Handful of diced sweet pepper

• Handful of chopped onion

• Handful of sliced mushrooms (thin slices)

• Handful of ham cubes

• 3 slices of salami

• Grated cheese

• Garlic sauce

1. Start by making the batter. Put the flour, eggs, half the milk and a pinch of salt in a bowl and whisk or mix until smooth. Add the rest of the milk, mix well again and leave to rest for half an hour.

2. Take the largest frying pan you have, add a knob of butter and make the pan very hot. Pour out the melted butter as it will have burned. Turn the heat down.

3. Add another knob of butter to the pan and let it melt again. Then add the 3 slices of bacon, followed by the pepper, onion and mushrooms and fry for 1 minute.

4. Using a ladle, pour the batter over the ingredients in a circular motion. Then turn the pan so that the batter is evenly distributed. Sprinkle the ham cubes over the batter and press down with a spatula. Turn the heat to medium-high and cook the pancake for 2-3 minutes. T he pancake can be turned when the top is dry and the bottom is coloured.

5. To flip the pancake, use the largest lid you can find. Make sure the pancake is loose in the pan and slide it onto the lid in one go. Then place the pan on the lid and turn the pan and lid 180 degrees so that the top of the pancake is at the bottom of the pan. Turn the heat to low.

6. Place 3 slices of salami on top of the pancake and sprinkle with grated cheese. Place the lid on the pan to allow the cheese to melt.

7. After the pancake has cooked for a further 2-3 minutes and the cheese has melted, slide it out of the pan onto a large round plate.

8. Place a bowl of garlic sauce on top of the pancake.

RUITERROUTE / EQUESTRIAN ROUTE (8KM)

De Smulhoeve route

De Loonse en Drunense Duinen: een heerlijke plek om te paard rustig te genieten van het bos, de heide en de weidse zandvlaktes. Of misschien stuif je liever in galop door het zand.

Om door dit gebied te mogen draven, heb je een ruiterpas nodig. Heb je deze, dan heb je maar liefst bijna 100 kilometer aan ruiter- en menpaden tot je beschikking.

Deze 2 uur durende route begint bij De Smulhoeve in Kaatsheuvel. Rondom de duinen vind je tevens diverse andere maneges van waaruit je deze route uitstekend kunt starten.

De Loonse en Drunense Duinen: a wonderful place to enjoy the woods, heathland and wide sandy plains at a leisurely pace on horseback. Or perhaps you would prefer to gallop across the sand.

To trot through this area you need an equestrian pass. If you have one, there are no less than 100 kilometres of bridleways and bridle paths.

This 2-hour ride starts at De Smulhoeve in Kaatsheuvel. There are a number of other stables around the dunes from where you can start this route.

DE SMULHOEVE

Het is het start- en eindpunt van deze route: De Smulhoeve. Een belevenisboerderij gelegen in Kaatsheuvel. Je kunt hier pony’s verzorgen, een eind gaan rijden op een pony, wandelen met alpaca’s en kamperen in een luxe tent met eigen sanitair. Een fijne uitvalsbasis voor als je meerdere dagen wilt genieten van de omgeving.

DE SMULHOEVE

It is the starting and finishing point of this route: De Smulhoeve. An adventure farm located in Kaatsheuvel. Here you can groom ponies, go for a pony ride, walk with alpacas and camp in a luxury tent with your own sanitary facilities. A good base if you want to enjoy the area for several days.

MTB-ROUTE (23,5KM)

De Loonse en Drunense Duinen

Lekker met je mountainbike door de modder scheuren in een uniek natuurgebied. Wie wil dat nou niet? Deze zwarte route is een technisch ‘middelzware’ route welke geschikt is voor de geoefende mountainbiker. Je fietst door smalle bospaadjes en zandvlaktes en komt de nodige hellingen tegen.

Lijkt de zwarte route je nog nét te uitdagend, dan vind je op onze website de meer toegankelijke groene route van 16 km. Beide routes zijn gemarkeerd met het internationale MTB-teken. En ben je van de mountainbike trail wel erg vies geworden? Stap bij De Rustende Jager dan gerust onder een van de douches.

Tearing through the mud on a mountain bike in a unique nature reserve. Who wouldn’t want to? This black route is a ‘medium’ technical route suitable for experienced mountain bikers. You will cycle through narrow forest paths and sandy plains, with the necessary hills.

If the black route is still a bit too challenging for you, you can find the more accessible 16 km green route on our website. Both routes are signposted with the international MTB sign. And if you get really dirty on the mountain bike trail? Then head for one of the showers at De Rustende Jager.

DE RUSTENDE JAGER

Dit eetcafé zit vaak vol wandelaars, ruiters, fietsers en mountainbikers. De gastvrije en gemoedelijke sfeer zorgt ervoor dat je na je inspanning even heerlijk kunt genieten van een drankje en een hapje. Proef ook eens de specialiteit van het huis: Brabantse Broeder, een heerlijk zoet brood dat perfect combineert met een cappuccino. Ook kun je hier terecht voor het huren van mountainbikes en diverse andere fietsen.

DE RUSTENDE JAGER

This eatery is often packed with walkers, horse riders, cyclists and mountain bikers. The hospitable and friendly atmosphere ensures that you can enjoy a drink and a bite to eat after your exertions. Try the house speciality: Brabantse Broeder, a delicious sweet bread that goes perfectly with a cappuccino. You can also hire mountain bikes and various other bicycles here.

De Annahoeve

TOP - TOP -

Boerderijwinkel De Annahoeve in De Moer is Natuur-Inclusief. Dat wil zeggen dat zij veel rekening houden met de natuur en dat biodiversiteit extra wordt gestimuleerd. Onder andere door de plaatsing van nestkasten, bijenkasten en insectenhotels. Rondom de weilanden wordt een haag geplaatst en er komt een vogelbosje. Bestrijdingsmiddelen worden niet gebruikt. De koeien en scharrelkippen lopen meestal buiten, het grasland is kruidenrijk en er is een poel die regenwater van de stal opvangt. Dit alles resulteert in de lekkerste en eerlijkste producten zoals zuivel, vlees, eieren en honing. Kom langs en proef de passie van dit planetproof gecertificeerde bedrijf.

De Annahoeve

The farm shop De Annahoeve in De Moer is nature-inclusive. This means that they take a lot of care of nature and promote biodiversity. This includes the installation of nesting boxes, beehives and insect hotels. The meadows are hedged and there is a bird forest. No pesticides are used. The cows and free-range chickens spend most of their time outdoors, the grassland is rich in herbs and there is a pool that collects rainwater from the barn. All this results in the tastiest and fairest products such as milk, meat, eggs and honey. Come and taste the passion of this Planetproof certified farm.

De Hoge Heide

Naast het enorme aanbod aan gezellige en sportieve activiteiten dat De Hoge Heide in Vlijmen biedt, kun je er ook terecht voor klimaatbewust, goed en vers eten. Zo zijn zoveel mogelijk ingrediënten afkomstig van lokale leveranciers en wordt alles dagvers bereid. En mensen zijn niet de enige bezoekers van deze feestlocatie; door een samenwerking met imkerij Jolanda’s Honinghuisje uit Sprang Capelle bouwen er maar liefst 16 bijenvolken hun eigen feestje op het dak! Zij bestuiven planten in natuurgebied het Vlijmens Ven en maken de verrukkelijkste honing, die De Hoge Heide natuurlijk bij de thee en in de gerechten gebruikt.

De Hoge Heide

In addition to the wide range of fun and sporting activities that De Hoge Heide in Vlijmen has to offer, you can also go there for good, fresh, climate-friendly food. As many ingredients as possible come from local suppliers and everything is prepared fresh every day. And people are not the only visitors to this party location; thanks to a collaboration with beekeeper Jolanda’s Honinghuisje from Sprang Capelle, no fewer than 16 bee colonies are building their own party on the roof! They pollinate plants in the Vlijmens Ven nature reserve and produce the most delicious honey, which De Hoge Heide naturally uses in tea and dishes.
