Virtual Breakroom Chats Monday morning, March 30th, Sr. Associate Dean of Administration & Finance, Melissa Rivera, hosted a virtual coffee/tea break with staff in her department to stay connected and relieve feelings of isolation. It was great to see so many coworkers, even if only on a small monitor. Employees updated each other on how the work-from-home transition was going, what their furry family members thought of all the extra attention these days, what television/Netflix series are binge worthy, how to navigate shopping at the big warehouse stores while self-distancing, and what everyone has been doing to keep busy. Hint: Lots of screen time, take-out food and eating, some running and outdoor exercise, and very, very little reading. Look out for more virtual breaks invitations via email and, please share photos and details of your department’s remote team building efforts via email to the Newsletter committee!
A Rewritten Mission Inspired by his team, Associate Dean for Executive Education, Peter Methot has rewritten 4 R’s of our school mission in response to our telecommuting arrangement. Responsible – you do your job with autonomy and accuracy with strong ethical judgement. Resilient – you conduct yourselves with agility and poise, even when the circumstances are not enviable. Resourceful – you utilize creativity and collaboration to solve problems. Reinvent – you had to rethink and reprioritize what we do and how we do it in a whole new way.
