BLOGGER OF THE MONTH

EDITORS Letter

Dear Readers,

As we step into another beautiful issue filled with creativity, elegance, and bold expression, I want to take a brief moment to speak to you, not just as the editor of this magazine, but as a person.

Behind the glamour and glossy pages, I’ve been quietly fighting some personal battles. Living alone again brings a kind of silence that not everyone understands, and recently I’ve also been facing challenges with my health and finances. It’s not always easy to balance life’s weight with the world of fashion that often demands perfection. Still, this space, this magazine, remains my sanctuary and source of strength, together with Ess that is a real mental support. And while I don’t always feel lucky in life, I truly hope that you are finding your own blessings, in both big and small ways.

In this issue, we explore the minimalist power of monochromatic fashion, and dive into the viral obsession with TikTok’s Birkin-inspired bags, two style directions that prove simplicity and status can coexist beautifully. We are proud to feature the phenomenal Martina Fiertze, and also show the images through the lens of the incredibly talented Dadi88, who brings light and soul into every frame.

To all the fashionistas reading this: consider this your call to action! We’re launching a bold new Styling Challenge, and we want to see your take on Aqua fashion. Do you dare to send in your look? We dare you to try. Show us what you’ve got, and don’t hold back.

With all my heart,

BonieFacio

AIM AGENCY PRESENTS TIK TOKS BIRKIN BAGS

INTERVIEW WITH .... NAARNISSE

VANESSAJANE

Model Martina Fiertze

With her bold presence, distinctive avant-garde flair, and unwavering professionalism, Martina has become a beloved and respected figure on the virtual runway. What sets her apart isn’t just her striking appearance, but the depth of experience and integrity she brings to the industry.

Her journey into Second Life began like many others, curious and open-minded. Initially working as a club host and stand model, she quickly discovered her love for fashion and self-expression. She launched her own clothing brand, MFCreation*, and soon transitioned into professional modeling after being scouted by an agency. Since then, she has graced the stages of numerous fashion shows.

But Martina’s contribution to the fashion world of SL goes far beyond appearances. She is a passionate learner, having completed several formal training programs and diplomas in styling. She actively encourages aspiring models to pursue education and self-development, believing that true elegance comes from preparation, persistence, and self-awareness. Her positive energy and humility have made her not only a modeling icon, but also a mentor and role model for the next generation of virtual fashion talent.

In this interview, Martina opens up about her inspirations, career highlights, favorite styles, and even the unexpected moments that made her laugh.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to talk to us. Our readers are very interested in who you are, where you come from. Can u tell us a little bit about who is behind the avatar?

I’m a 55-year-old woman from Germany. While I may be a bit older than many in SL, I think that brings a unique perspective and experience to everything I do in-world.

What was your first job intention when you came into second life? How did you feel about the fashion industry?

My journey started as a host in a club, and later I worked as a stand model in a shop. Eventually, I began creating clothing under my own brand, MFCreation. But when mesh bodies began to dominate the market, I decided to stop designing and explore other creative outlets in fashion.

What are your hobbies and interests besides Second Life?

Honestly, SL itself has become my hobby. There’s just so much to discover, experience, and learn—it’s endlessly engaging.

Let’s get into your favorites. 1. What is your favorite personal style? 2. Who are your favorite designers? 3. Who are your favorite places to visit? What is your favorite Movie?

Personal style: Definitely avant-garde. I love the bold and artistic.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? How did you decide to be a professional model? Who or what inspired you?

My late mother played a huge role. She was part of SL herself and always encouraged me to pursue modeling here. Fashion has always been a passion of mine, both in real life and virtually. My professional path began when a modeling agency invited me to join. From there, I participated in pageants, won titles, and never looked back.

Are u currently in an Agency? When did you sign with an agency? What agencies are you currently part of?

Favorite designer: Dernier.

Places to visit: Calas Galadhon is at the top of my list, peaceful and beautiful.

Favorite movie: Flow, a unique and captivating film unlike anything else.

Can you share the funniest or most interesting story that happened to you since you became a model? One of the most fun moments was when I modeled as a Dinkie—a tiny, adorable avatar. I was a cheerleader and even wrote a story to go along with it. The audience loved it and laughed so much. It was a reminder to never take yourself too seriously and to always have fun with creativity.

What do you think makes your stand out? Can you share a story?

I can only say that I give more than 100% in everything I do. And I just think most people know that too.

Tell us about your education: Have you attended fashion modeling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken? Does it costs a lot of money? or can you teach yourself?

Yes, I’ve completed two certified modeling training programs and earned a diploma in styling. I’ve invested quite a bit in learning. Pageants also teach you a lot. I believe in combining formal education with experience and staying open to learning at every stage. And I’m still open today also if I can take part in a course to find out what might have changed in the modeling industry.

What advice would you give someone starting out?

Start with solid training. Then use competitions and castings to test what you’ve learned and find out what still needs improvement. Be patient, stay dedicated, and never stop learning.

What advice would you give someone starting out?

In any case, he should undergo training and apply what he has learned in competitions to find out to what extent he can then implement what he has learned or whether he may need to work on it even more.

If you could change one thing about the SL fashion world, what would it be? I’m actually very happy with where it is. There’s so much variety and creativity. I just hope fashion shows continue to thrive because they bring the community together in powerful ways.

Any final words for our readers or aspiring models?

If you’ve ever dreamed of modeling in SL, go for it. Give it a try. There’s nothing to lose and so much to gain.

Meet DADI88: Visual Storyteller, Blogger & Second Life Creative

DADI88 began her journey in Second Life as a passionate photographer, participating in virtual exhibitions since 2017. In 2022, she launched her blog—a creative space born out of curiosity and a love for visual storytelling. What started as a personal passion has grown into a respected platform where she showcases handpicked collaborations with brands she genuinely connects with, such as E-CLIPSE DESIGN, HEXED, ADD, and Arabic Tattoo Studio.

Her blogging process is driven by inspiration, each product sparks a unique concept, blending photography with a narrative that enhances its story. DADI88 is known for her authentic approach: she enhances the product without over-editing, always keeping the focus on the creator’s work. She’s deeply committed to the brands she represents, honoring their trust with consistency, professionalism, and heart.

Posting two to three times per week, DADI88 stays active and engaged with her audience across multiple platforms, including Primfeed, which plays a key role in boosting visibility. She doesn’t define her style, each post is a fresh canvas, shaped by the mood and meaning behind the items she features.

For DADI88, blogging isn’t about trends or numbers, it’s about doing what she loves, staying true to her creative vision, and growing through meaningful connections in the Second Life fashion community. Her dream? To keep creating, collaborating, and inspiring, one post at a time.

https://dadi88photographer.blogspot.com/

Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?

I began my creative journey in Second Life as a photographer, and since 2017 I’ve been actively participating in virtual photography exhibitions. In 2022, I launched my blog as a platform to share my collaborations with various stores and brands within the Second Life community. Photography is not just a passion for me—it’s a way of expressing myself and connecting with others. I strive to bring that passion into every project I take on, blending visual storytelling with meaningful partnerships.

Describe how did you first get into blogging?

I started my blog in 2022 without any specific goals in mind—just for the sheer joy of doing it. It was a personal space to share what I love. That hasn’t changed much, except that now there are people who appreciate and follow my work. What I enjoy most are the collaborations I’ve built along the way. I love giving context to each product I feature, turning every post into a small story that blends creativity and intention.

Can you tell me some of your strengths that really helped you in blogging?

One of my key strengths is the ability to highlight a product’s unique features in a natural and visually appealing way. I focus on enhancing the product without relying too heavily on editing, which helps maintain authenticity and keeps the spotlight where it belongs.

What was your greatest failure and what did you learn from that?

In the context of Second Life, I don’t really see things as failures. Every experience is an opportunity to grow and express creativity in new ways. Putting yourself out there, experimenting, and learning through the process is what truly matters. It’s all part of the creative journey.

Second Life is a big place, do you have any other interests besides blogging?

Absolutely! Beyond blogging, I have a deep passion for photography in all its forms, it’s my favorite way to tell stories visually. I’m also active as a manager and host, which allows me to connect with the community in different and meaningful ways.

Why did you start blogging? Describe your writing process, from concept to publishing. How do you stay motivated? It all began with curiosity and a love for experimenting, especially in Second Life, where creativity has no limits. I started blogging to explore new ways of expressing myself visually and artistically. My process usually starts with inspiration from a product or scene. From there, I build a concept, create the visuals, and then write the post to give it context and personality. What keeps me motivated is simple: the genuine enjoyment I get from creating. As long as it brings me joy, I’ll keep doing it.

How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?

My main motivation is the genuine pleasure I get from blogging, it’s something I truly enjoy. But what also drives me is the responsibility I feel toward the creators and stores that have trusted me with their work. I deeply respect the effort behind every product, and I want to honor that by giving my best. Their trust deserves my full commitment, and that keeps me going.

How do you attract new readers? What methods have you used, and how have they impacted your blog traffic? What do you think is the best social media strategy for gaining more visitors? To attract new readers, I always share my blog posts across multiple social media platforms. Cross-posting helps extend my reach and visibility. One platform that’s especially effective is Primfeed—it consistently drives strong engagement and boosts views. In my experience, the best social media strategy is to stay consistent, use high-quality visuals, and engage actively with the community. It’s not just about promoting content, but also about creating genuine connections.

How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers? What would you like to achieve in the future? Any dreams? I usually publish 2 to 3 blog posts per week, keeping a steady rhythm that allows me to stay creative without feeling rushed. I enjoy interacting with my followers through comments and social media, it’s always rewarding to connect with people who appreciate what I do. As for the future, my biggest goal is simply to keep doing what I love. If I can continue growing, collaborating, and staying inspired, that’s already a dream come true.

The fashion industry has a lot of bloggers, how do you connect with designers or choose who to blog for? Most of my collaborations begin through BLOGOTEX, though I’ve also been contacted directly by designers. When it comes to choosing who to blog for, I always follow my personal taste. I believe authenticity is key, and I wouldn’t feel comfortable promoting something I don’t genuinely like. My goal is to stay true to my style and only showcase pieces that inspire me creatively.

We bloggers know that blogging is time-consuming and a lot of work. How do you stay organized with your posts? I stay organized by focusing on one product per post and spacing out my content, usually leaving two to three days between each entry. I make it a priority to stay well ahead of deadlines, because I really dislike being late. Planning ahead helps me maintain both quality and consistency, without feeling overwhelmed.

How would you describe your personal style, and is there someone who inspires your fashion choices?

I wouldn’t say I have one fixed style, my look changes depending on the product and the story it inspires. I enjoy adapting and experimenting, letting each item guide the mood and aesthetic of the post. Rather than following one specific fashion icon, I draw inspiration from creativity itself, anything that sparks an idea or emotion.

Questions

... Is Second Life Losing Its Soul?

A Community’s Growing Concern About Commercialization and Connection.

Second Life began as more than just a virtual world, it was a revolutionary idea. A place where creativity, freedom, and connection thrived beyond the limits of geography, economics, and even identity. For many, it was a sanctuary: a digital escape from real-world pressures, where imagination ruled and community spirit flourished. A world where anyone, regardless of background or bank account, could create, connect, and escape. It was a digital utopia for those seeking freedom from the limitations of the real world.

But that dream feels increasingly out of reach. But today, that vision feels increasingly under threat.

From Sanctuary to Marketplace.... From Playground to Paywall

Longtime residents of Second Life have recently voiced growing disillusionment with the platform’s direction. What was once a space for shared creativity and social connection is becoming more commercialized, and for many, less accessible. As the cost of participating meaningfully continues to rise, so too does the sense that Second Life is no longer a refuge, but a reflection of the very world it was meant to offer relief from. Once a haven for creativity and meaningful social interaction, Second Life is now, to some, beginning to mirror the financial pressures of real life.

There is an emerging pattern: more users are now relying on SL to help support real-life expenses, using it as a source of income for food, bills, and housing. While understandable, this shift has also contributed to a broader culture change. The virtual world once celebrated for its inclusivity and spontaneity now feels transactional, exclusive, and even isolating. While earning income through creativity is not inherently negative, the overwhelming presence of paywalls has shifted the tone. What used to be about collaboration and fun now feels like a constant transaction.

The Disappearing Social Fabric... The Erosion of Community

Many users reminisce about the earlier days of SL: when people gathered in sandboxes and public hangouts to chat, build, and collaborate purely for enjoyment. Where sandboxes once overflowed with spontaneous conversation and co-creation, many spaces now sit silent. Avatars stand idle in crowded rooms. Social events often feel scripted or superficial. For many, it’s a stark contrast to earlier days, when friendships formed effortlessly and shared experiences felt authentic.

Those spaces were filled with laughter, creativity, and genuine connection. Now, the landscape often feels cold, filled with silent avatars in overcrowded rooms, disengaged and AFKso

Some describe a loss of authenticity, where relationships feel fleeting and interactions superficial. Places once buzzing with activity now echo with emptiness, replaced by routine events and impersonal encounters.

Escaping Into... What, Exactly?

Second Life was never just a game. It was an escape, a mirror opposite to the real world, built on imagination and openness. But when the cost of participation rises and social spaces become transactional, that escape begins to blur into something uncomfortably familiar. Commerce has always been part of Second Life. Few would deny that creators deserve recognition and compensation for their work. But there is a growing sense that the current pricing culture has gone too far, with virtual goods and accessories demanding increasingly steep prices. When a single pair of shoes costs the equivalent of several real-world dollars, the question arises: who is this world really for?

While logging in may technically be free, full participation often requires a significant financial investment. Custom avatars, animations, skins, furniture, hardware, all of it adds up. And when only those with deep wallets can access the full experience, Second Life risks becoming a gated community rather than a global one.

A Call for Balance

None of this is to say that selling content is wrong. The issue is imbalance. When profit overtakes people, and when creativity is commodified to the point of exclusion, the world loses its soul. A space that was once about exploration, play, and connection becomes just another platform driven by economic pressure, the very kind users were hoping to leave behind.

There are still corners of SL where the old spirit lives on, places that remain open, welcoming, and built on shared values rather than sales. But they are becoming harder to find, and even harder to sustain.

The Real Question

The underlying concern is simple but profound: why are we letting this happen? Why are we watching a once-thriving, socially rich world drift into a mirror of real-life inequality and disconnection?

Second Life was never just about the pixels or the profits. It was about people. About freedom, joy, and possibility. If those things fade, then what are we left with? The community still has a choice. To create, connect, and collaborate, not just for money, but for meaning. Second Life still holds immense potential. The tools for creativity and connection are more powerful than ever. But if the platform is to remain a space of joy, imagination, and community, its users and developers must be willing to protect what made it special to begin with.

Because Second Life was never just about pixels, it was about people..

MODEL’S WORKSHOP INTERVIEW

Step into the layered world of World Undercroft, a name that’s as evocative as the avatar behind it. Known for a style that dances between avant-garde artistry and raw authenticity, World isn’t just a model—they’re a storyteller, a boundary-pusher, and a quiet force in Second Life’s fashion evolution. From iconic runway moments to deeply personal reflections on the state of the industry, World brings not just experience, but perspective. Whether dressed as a demon, a mermaid, or in the sleekest couture, World reminds us that fashion is freedom—and identity in SL should never be boxed in. In this feature, we go beyond the runway and into the mind of someone who helped shape the scene and still walks its edges with effortless grace.

**1.** How are you today? Good, thank you!

**2.** What motivated you to pursue a career in modeling within Second Life?

There were a couple of sparks that lit that fire. I randomly stumbled across a blog—or maybe it was a Flickr photo—of what was, at the time, the coolest avatar I’d ever seen. That image alone made me want to figure out how to achieve that look, with moderate success at first. But what really sealed the deal was a photo of Mimmi Boa wearing the classic Bliss Couture. Absolute perfection. On top of that, just the sheer creativity you can express through an avatar is still so much fun. That’s what pulled me in—and honestly, what keeps me here.

**3** As the winner of MISS VIRTUAL 2012, how do you perceive the evolution of the fashion industry since then? It’s a completely different atmosphere now compared to 2012. Back then, my country-themed outfit might have been one of the first mesh suits I ever bought. The excitement around modeling and fashion shows felt electric. I don’t think that same buzz really exists anymore, or maybe it’s just become too fragmented, with too many “bosses” and not enough real shows. I’ve written more about that in a Flickr post called “You Had to Be There,” if anyone wants a deeper dive.

**4** What aspects of participating in modeling competitions did you enjoy, and do you miss that experience? My favorite part has always been the creative challenge of building the outfit. That’s where the real joy is for me. I actually had to be talked into doing Mr. VW, same with many of the shows I’ve done. They all come with the same level of “show stress,” but I’ve never really craved the competition side. When Frolic returned a few years ago, he really had to push to get me back on the runway. I did it as a favor, but these days I’m more about doing good shows than chasing titles.

**5** You are also the COO of SlFierce. What inspired you to establish this? SlFierce actually started as a magazine way back in the day, created by folks who have long since moved on. It was handed off during a transitional period to Steele Sirnah, and now it’s more of a creative collective, a holding pattern of fun, talented people. When inspiration strikes, we might do a show or maybe even another “magazine.” It’s really just about the love of modeling and creativity now.

**6** They often say that gender is relevant. One of your quotes is that gender is irrelevant. Can you tell us how you came to this, and do you think that RL gender is still important in the fashion world? I’ve spent plenty of time running around as a demon, a robot, a vampire, or some troll dude. In a virtual world where you can be anything, why limit yourself with traditional labels? Whether I’m a male demon or a female one doesn’t matter. What matters is expression and authenticity. Just do what you want, be who you are, regardless of the avatar you’re wearing. If you catch me at Blake Sea in a mermaid avatar, dropping the same number of F-bombs, it’s still me. Just don’t be fake.

**7** What challenges have you encountered in the modeling industry, and how have you overcome them? Glad you asked about the industry and not my personal life, haha. Honestly, the biggest challenge is the fragmentation, those little cliques or ego-driven pockets. “If you’re in that agency, you can’t be in ours.” Or, “If you’re not my friend or treating me like royalty, you’re not welcome.” It’s all very petty. I’ve mostly dealt with it by staying on the periphery. I prefer to focus on putting on the best show possible and letting all the drama stay in the background.

**8** Could you share some memorable experiences from your modeling career that have significantly impacted you? Hands down, the people. They’re 95% of the impact. I think often about the ones who’ve come and gone, whether they left SL or RL entirely. The relationships matter most. But if I have to pick a modeling memory: one of the first big shows Steele Sirnah and I were cast in was with Solo Evane. At the time, it felt like we went from playing a local bar gig to performing at Madison Square Garden. We were so excited we’d teleport in early to rehearse and learn the stage inside and out. One day we showed up, and there was Mimmi Boa doing the same. A Miss Virtual World, practicing alone. That stuck with me. Don’t get lazy.

**9** Today we’re going to explore everything from casual to avant-garde. Do you think understanding different fashion styles is important?

You don’t need to dive into early Baroque if it’s not your thing. If gowns and suits are your lane and you’re happy there, great. But if you want to expand, work more, or respond quickly to styling requests, then having a broader fashion vocabulary helps. If someone needs a complete look in 15 minutes, you’ll want as much inspiration and experience to pull from as possible. Ideally, when someone’s looking for a model, you want to be the answer.

**10** How do you envision the future of virtual modeling and fashion in Second Life? Good question, and honestly, one I don’t have a solid answer to. I just hope shows don’t stay in this “for the love of modeling” zone forever. Passion is great, but so is growth and innovation. Beyond that? Just enjoy the creative ride. Challenge yourself. Fall in love with the process.
