a super simple way to receive payments and Amazon.com has its own payment structure called Amazon Payments.
One of the beauties of Amazon is that most people already have their credit card already on file with Amazon.
All they have to do is click’ Add to Cart’ and their credit card information is already stored there. It makes it very easy.
In fact, Amazon even has ‘One-Click’ purchase where you just click once and your purchase is done and it’s on its way to you.
In a recent study, 95% of those surveyed said that they had made a purchase on Amazon.com in the previous year. That’s a pretty amazing statistic and, you know, if 95% of the population is shopping on Amazon, well, I think I should be selling there, wouldn’t you agree?
Another great benefit of selling on eBay and Amazon is a program by Amazon called ‘Fulfilment by Amazon’, or Amazon FBA.
Fulfilment by Amazon is a program that allows you to ship all your merchandise to Amazon and then, whenever one of your items sells, Amazon actually picks, packs and ships out those items for you!
By using Fulfilment by Amazon, you no longer have to do one of the more time-consuming parts of the ecommerce work, which is the entire shipping side of the equation! (which, frankly is a pretty significant amount of work)
I’ve been selling on eBay and Amazon since 1999 and one of the parts that I used to hate was shipping.
It used to bother me so much because of the sheer amount of time that it took – time that I could be using to find more deals, to make more money, or to build other businesses.
Now, with Amazon FBA, that huge responsibility is gone!
You don’t need to worry about shipping anymore.
It’s a very simple process… What you do is you take all your merchandise that you listed on Amazon and you ship it to Amazon in bulk. (in bigger boxes)
And, you even get to use Amazon’s incredibly low UPS shipping rates, (because they have some of the best shipping rates in the nation) and you’re shipping it to their warehouses; their distribution centers.
Then, when those items sell, Amazon does the picking, packing and shipping for you!
Now, what you’ve just done is you’ve automated the whole shipping side of your business!
Now all you have to do is just get good at finding deals and shipping them off to Amazon. It’s really an amazing program!
The other good news is, even if you’re an eBay seller, you can still use Fulfilment by Amazon to get your eBay products shipped.
So, in effect, Amazon becomes your fulfillment center, no matter where the items are being sold from! (they don’t have to be sold on Amazon in order for you to benefit from FBA)
What happens is you ship all of your merchandise to the Amazon distribution center and then, when an eBay item sells, you just log in to your Amazon FBA account and you create a ship order and that item gets picked, packed and shipped to your eBay customer!
This would have been a dream come true when I first started in this business, to have a whole professional company shipping my product out for me!
Do you know how powerful and amazing that is? For that reason, there are people making not just a hundred thousand a year doing this - there are people actually making a hundred thousand a month doing Amazon FBA!
That’s because, when you take the shipping part out of the equation, and that time consuming task is no longer your responsibility, you can do amazing things by just buying and selling, buying and selling, buying and selling. It’s a very, very powerful business model!
Ok, so now, what are the “cons” (negatives) of this type of business; selling physical products on the internet?
The main thing is it can be time consuming.
It can be time consuming to source products.
It can be time consuming to ship products if you’re shipping products out yourself. (this is called Merchant Fulfilled as opposed to Fulfilled By Amazon)
It can be time consuming to find new deals.
It can be time consuming to try to compete with other sellers in the eBay and Amazon marketplace. Those are some of the negatives.
The other negatives are that there are some fees involved when you sell on these sites...
You have to pay eBay fees. You have to pay PayPal fees. With Amazon, there’s a flat percentage fee that you have to pay, based on the type of product you’re selling.

I love selling information products online!
There is nothing that gets me more excited that when I check my email and I see that some money has been deposited in my PayPal account because somebody purchased one of my information products.
Right now, I have probably close to two dozen information products that I’ve created and that are being sold online.
These products all bring me an income in different ways.
You know, it’s very, very exciting (and very easy) to create a product which actually teaches somebody a skill or helps somebody with a problem that they need a solution for.
You can turn that solution into an ebook, a video course or an audio course. (By the way, it’s very easy to do this) Then, you just sell it over and over and over and over again for an ongoing income stream!

There are some great opportunities emerging with online teaching.

Udemy.com is the world’s largest online learning platform and currently has 4 million students from all over the world!
These students are learning anything from web programming, to how to build an app, to how to sell on eBay, to yoga, baking, cooking.
All kinds of things are being taught on this website called Udemy! It’s a very exciting opportunity…
When you publish your course on Udemy, on whatever topic you want, students come along and enroll in your course and that’s when you make money.
You’re teaching via video, but the great thing is, you create the video course once and then people enroll in your course continuously and you make a passive income, in other words, residual income.
This is an amazing opportunity for anyone who has skills and wants to teach them by creating a video course. (and as I said, it is super-easy to create these courses!)
The Traditional Information Product Model
Besides online teaching on Udemy and other learning platforms, you can also publish information products in the more traditional way.
This means that you will create a digital product - like an ebook, an audio course or a video course (or a combination of all three) - and then you put your digital product up for sale on a website.
Next, you add a payment button so that people can buy it from you. (this can be done via PayPal, Clickbank, JVZoo or any of a host of other online payment processor companies)
So, when somebody comes to your website, they’ll read the sales letter and if it sounds great, they’ll click the payment button, which sends their payment into your account.
As soon as they make their payment to you, they’re taken to a “secret” page (the download page) and this page contains the product.
On this page, they can either download the product or they can even just view it right on that page.
It's a secret page, that’s only revealed to them after they pay.
When they do that, now they get to consume your product instantly and you get a residual or passive income.
I’ve got to tell you, it’s so exciting to see payment notifications coming into my email (and my PayPal account) and sometimes I even see multiple payments within the same minute from digital information products that I’m selling or courses that I’ve published on Udemy!
It really is one of the best ways to build a massive, passive income, by just publishing information products.
Pros And Cons Of Being An Infopreneur
Let’s talk about the pros first.
The primary benefit to being an information products publisher is that you can build a residual income.
You can build it to a point where you really don’t have to work a job anymore and yet the money still comes in regularly and consistently!
And, you can create as many digital information products as you want or as many online courses as you want.
You also get all the standard benefits of being a work-from-home business owner: you can work your hours work when want work as much or as little as you want
There’s also an added benefit… If you build an email list of your prospects and customers, you are effectively building an audience that you can promote your future products to. That’s really exciting!
That’s where it gets really awesome because the next time you have a product, all you have to do is simply send an email to your entire list, letting them know that you’ve just released your new product and letting them know where they can buy it.

Not only that, but the truth is, you don’t have to be a top expert in a topic in order to teach that topic.
I was talking to a friend of mine who used to be a teacher and he said that, even though he had no interest in American history, he taught it and he taught it well because the bottom line is, teaching does not require that you be an expert or even that you have passion in a particular topic!
A lot of people think (when they’re looking at information product marketing) that they have to be a top expert or an incredible guru in that field. But that’s not the case.

Legitimate Home Based Business #4 Affiliate Marketing
Put simply, affiliate marketing is when you sell other people’s products in exchange for a commission.
The way affiliate marketing typically works is you have a website, (this may be a blog where you write about things that you are passionate about, and where you review and / or recommend other people’s products.
When you make a recommendation, you use a special link called an “affiliate link” and when a visitor clicks on that link, it tracks the eventual sales so that you get credit (and you get paid) when that visitor actually buys the product through your special link.
That is affiliate marketing at its core, basically, you are getting paid to recommend and refer products to your visitors and you’re getting paid a commission for that.
Now, commissions can range anywhere from 3% to 10%, all the way up to even 100% commissions, depending on the type of product you’re recommending.
Usually, when you sell physical products, you’ll make up to about a 10% or 15% commission. Also, some service-related products may also pay a 10 to 15% commission. However, when you get into digital products, the commissions can be much higher. The standard commission rate for digital products is 50%.
But, in certain situations, you can even receive as much as 100% of the sale up front, because the customer is so valuable to the vendor that the vendor doesn’t mind paying 100% commission for that lead because they’ll end up making far more money on the upsells and back-end sales.
Basically, this means that they’ve developed a sales funnel (what we call the entire sales process, that a customer goes through, from start to finish) that allows them to make a lot more money than that initial, up-front commission on the back-end sales or other sales that they may make to that same customer.
Therefore, it is worth it for them to pay out 100% commission on the frontend product in order to make the much bigger sale on the back-end sales.
A good example of this is the eBay infomercial that I was a part of. In the eBay infomercial, my “How To eBay” book and DVD set sold for $19.95.
The infomercial company actually lost money on that initial $19.95. In other words, over and above that 19.95, they had to pay an additional $40, $50 or even $60 dollars (per sale) in order to cover the TV air time!
So, the campaign was negative on the front-end sales… But, once they received those sales, they would then offer coaching to those customers.
And, even though a relatively small number of customers decided to buy coaching, they had enough customers buying the higher-end coaching sale that this is where they really made their money.
So, for the infomercial company, it was worth paying out $60 or $80 dollars per order, (over and above the amount they took in) in order to have a chance to sell a $1,000 to $4,000 dollar coaching package.
That’s one example where a digital product vendor will often pay 50%, 75% or even 100% commission on the front end product.
They can only do this when they have a sales funnel that is so well developed that they know their numbers - and they know that they can afford to pay out 100% of the front-end sale, because they know they are going to make so much more on the up sells and on the back-end sales.
Getting back to affiliate marketing, the ability to sell other people’s products in exchange for a commission is a really exciting opportunity, because all you have to do is get good at reviewing / recommending products…
You can do this on a blog or on a website and build up an audience and a following. And then, each time you have a new review or a new recommendation, your audience takes your recommendation and buys it and you make commissions.
There are other ways to do affiliate marketing, for example, you could just buy advertising straight to an affiliate deal using your special affiliate link. (this is called direct-linking) Typically this is done by buying advertising online and you simply advertise somebody else’s product by using your special affiliate link.
Since you get paid for every one that sells, basically what you are doing is hoping that the amount going out for advertising is a lot less than the amount coming back in, in commissions.
So for example, let say I decide to promote an eBook about weight loss.
I might buy advertising on a variety of weight loss forums or message boards.
I can promote that eBook using my special affiliate link. If I spend $100 in advertising for the day, but I made $200 in affiliate commissions for the day, then that’s a really good return, right?
So basically, you made back your $100 that you paid for the ads, plus you made a $100 profit. That is something that you can scale. (grow)
You can continue to grow it by reinvesting your profits and buying more and more advertising.
So that is another way to do affiliate marketing. It’s basically arbitrage.
Pros And Cons Of Affiliate Marketing
Let’s look at the pros and cons of affiliate marketing…
There are a lot of benefits to affiliate marketing. For example, since you’re not the product vendor, you do not have to deal with customer service. You do not have to answer customer questions. You do not have to deal with fulfillment of the product. You do not have to deal with refunds or returns.
If a refund or return is made, that would be charged to you, but you do not deal with any of the customer service issues that go with selling a product.
You can just focus on writing and blogging about different products and writing reviews and everything else is taken care of for you.
If you decide to get involved in the arbitrage scenario, that can also be a hands-free opportunity because once you’ve set it up, you can then keep an eye on your stats and just keep the ad payments flowing to your advertising networks. Now you basically have one big profit loop that you can grow and grow.
What are the negatives of affiliate marketing?
One of the negatives is, if you do not build an email list (your own audience) out of this activity, then you are really giving away the most valuable part of the online marketing equation.
Basically, you are giving away the lead - that customer, who can actually be far more valuable to you in the long run than just that one-time commission.
The bottom line is, if all you do is focus on making those one-time commissions, then every day you are starting from “zero�, because you are not building an audience that you can sell to over and over again. So, if you are going to do affiliate marketing, I would strongly recommend that, before you send people to that offer, you have them opt in to an email list.
That way, you capture that audience for yourself and you can market to them over and over again.
That is my main warning, no matter which of these businesses you do - you want to always build an email list. Always, always, always find a way to build an email list in any one of these businesses that you get involved in, because over time and even in the immediate, that email list could be like gold for you.

This type of business is perfect for somebody who likes numbers and likes statistics and likes analyzing numbers. It’s also great for someone who is good at writing, especially writing reviews. If you are good at writing ads, then you may like the arbitrage direction.
By the way, there are many different ways to approach affiliate marketing, but this is the type of personality that would be best suited for affiliate marketing.
It would be somebody who does not really want to deal with products, does not really want to deal with customers.
They just want to make money, but they want to use their analytical mind, and they are good at analyzing stats, and may even develop the ability to test different approaches - one against the other.

The other plus is that you’re actually helping businesses generate more business and that’s a good feeling – you’re helping them generate new business.
You are helping their business to prosper and thrive and you are partnering, so to speak, with these small businesses.
What about the negatives?
Well, it can often feel like you have a boss, because the business owner wants to see great results and they’ll be following up with you.
This makes the relationship feel like you have a boss. That’s the type of relationship you’ve got when you do offline marketing.
They are (in effect) your boss!
They are paying you for results. They are paying you to get them new customers, so you have to be able to deliver on that.
You have to know what you’re doing and you have to have the right training to be able to do that.
Another negative about this business is, you’ve got to have some people skills because you’ve got to be willing to meet with the business owners face-to-face. Even though there are a lot of “offline marketing” training programs that say you do not have to meet with the business owner face-to-face, I’d have to disagree with that.
Business owners are “face-to-face” people and if they are going to hire somebody (especially if they are paying somebody thousands of dollars to improve their business) they are going to want to meet with you, not only face-to-face, but over the phone too, and they will want constant updates, too!
You’ve got to be a bit of a salesperson to do offline marketing. (or hire a salesperson to get the deals and deal with customers for you)
You’ve got to be able to have some good people skills - not only to acquire the client but also to keep the client happy.
And, of course, you’ve got to know your way around internet marketing and the various solutions that can help that business owner.
On the bright side, you do not have to do all of the work yourself.
You could use the “agency model”, where you have a graphic artist, (on call) you have a web designer, (on call) you have an SEO person, (on call) or you could even outsource several different activities to different freelancing websites, where you can basically direct and manage it and have other people that are specialists in those things do the actual work.
For example, my web designer is in the Philippines (he’s been with me for 4 years) and we’ve probably built 50 or 60 websites together.
We work really well together and it’s worked out really well because, now that we’ve been working so long together, we’re a team. He understands what I want done.
We worked our way into a really good working relationship, that way.
You can basically be the “agency manager” and then outsource all these different services that your business owner needs. Those are some of the pros and cons.

What kind of person is good for this business?
As I mentioned, you’ve got to be a people person.
You’ve got to be open to being told what to do and even, in some cases, how to do it.
In other words, you’ve got to be willing to have a boss-type relationship.
You’ve got to know what you’re doing to really get great results for the business owner.
And, of course, this is not the type of business where you are hands-free and can just sit at your desk and collect commissions…
This is quite the opposite of affiliate marketing or Infopreneuring in that sense, but it pays extremely well – per client - and to the extent that you can get great results for your clients, you are going to do fantastically well with it. (many people make six-figure incomes doing offline marketing)
