Near Cape Yakataga in South Central Alaska, 154 mining claims span 11,320± acres centered on a gold-rich glacial stream. Over 15,000 ounces of placer gold were mined in the early 1900s, yet much remains untapped. Promising sampling and complex geology—including uplifted beaches and deep alluvial deposits—suggest strong potential. With steep stream gradients and active sediment movement, this site holds exciting prospects for modern exploration.
