Only 24% of cybersecurity jobs are held by women.
Cybersecurity is one of the fastest‑growing, highest‑ paying industries but women still hold less than a quarter of the roles. One career institute is on a mission to change that.
PC AGE Career Institute is now offering a $200/month stipend and a free computer aptitude test to help women from low‑income families explore and enter IT and cybersecurity careers, even with zero prior experience. With flexible training, women‑led workshops, and job placement support, this program removes the financial and mental barriers that often block women from thriving in tech.

is offering a $200/month stipend to help women from low‑income families train for careers in IT and Cybersecurity.
Despite explosive job growth, only 24% of cybersecurity jobs are held by women, a statistic that has barely moved in decades.
PC AGE wants to change that.
“We’re
not just offering training. We’re offering economic freedom.”
Zafar Khizer, President of PC AGE
In a bold effort to close the gender gap in one of the fastest‑growing, highest‑paying industries, PC AGE Career Institute
“Seventy years ago, accounting was a male‑ dominated profession. Today it’s majority female. There’s no reason IT and Cybersecurity can’t follow the same path — but we need to remove the barriers,” said Zafar Khizer, President of PC AGE. “This $200/month stipend is one way to make training accessible for women who are ready for a career change but can’t afford to wait.”
The stipend is available to women who qualify for federal Pell Grants, which provide up to about $9,860 in tuition assistance. PC AGE will redirect a portion of these funds to support students’ living expenses, such as commuting, food, or childcare — especially important for single mothers or women juggling part‑time jobs.
While accounting has shifted to being majority‑female, IT and Cybersecurity have remained stubbornly male. Why? Lack of early exposure, industry stereotypes, and poor marketing.
“Many women don’t realize cybersecurity includes roles like risk analysis, compliance, policy, and training — not just coding or hacking. These are perfect for women who are problem‑solvers and strong communicators,” said Khizer.
PC AGE’s program is designed for complete beginners, including those with no prior tech experience. The school offers both campus‑ based and live online training, making it accessible for women balancing work and family life.
What Makes PC AGE Different
• $200/month stipend for qualified students
• No prior IT experience needed
• Women‑led info sessions and career workshops
• Job placement support with starting salaries from **$40,000–$60,000**
• Career growth to $70,000–$100,000+ within 3–5 years
• Scientifically Validated Computer Aptitude Test: Know If You’re a Good Fit — Before You Enroll
To help women explore whether a tech career is right for them, PC AGE offers a scientifically validated Computer Aptitude Test at computeraptitude.com. This “IT IQ” test measures problem‑solving and analytical skills — no prior computer experience required — and is a proven predictor of success in IT and cybersecurity careers.
“You don’t need to know how to code. You need the right kind of mind — and we can help you discover if you have it,” Khizer added.

SkillStorm is bringing together Fortune 500 employers, universities, and government agencies to build tomorrow’s highly skilled tech workforce.
At a time when transitioning veterans face major hurdles in breaking into tech, SkillStorm is stepping up with a bold solution.
Launching on August 5, 2025, this GI Bill–approved program offers veterans certification tracks in Cloud Engineering and Cybersecurity, designed to open doors to high‑wage, future‑proof careers.
With training optimized for non‑tech professionals and support for over 200,000 transitioning military members, SkillStorm is offering fast‑tracked certification and clear career pathways—all fully funded.
SkillStorm, a leading U.S. talent tech accelerator, today unveiled two immersive certification tracks—Cloud Engineering and Cybersecurity—designed specifically for the military community through the DoD SkillBridge and GI Bill programs. The cohorts launch August 5, 2025, and are offered in both full‑time (9‑week) and part‑time (4–22 week evening) formats.
Meeting the Urgent Demand for Federal Tech Talent As federal agencies ramp up investments in cloud infrastructure, data center modernization, and AI‑powered decision systems—including recent initiatives led by Palantir and other key federal contractors— the need for cleared, certified talent is surging. Cybersecurity and cloud engineering roles are now mission‑critical across defense, intelligence, and civilian agencies.
SkillStorm’s new certification tracks are purpose‑built to meet this demand—preparing veterans not only for commercial tech roles but also for high‑impact positions supporting government modernization and national security initiatives.
“I really saw that SkillStorm was a great stepping stone to my first role as a civilian technologist,” said Kaden Godinez, U.S. Army veteran and recent graduate. “Having the support of SkillStorm in terms of a great curriculum combined with a really excellent instructor, and learning with a cohort of supportive and professional veterans. It was honestly the perfect way to make this transition. SkillStorm sets you up for success.”
Program Highlights
DoD SkillBridge–eligible track for active‑duty service members within 180 days of separation.
• GI Bill–approved part‑time track for veterans, military spouses, and civilians.
• Live online instruction, hands‑on labs, and 1:1 coaching culminating in industry certifications (AWS Solutions Architect
– Associate & CompTIA Security+).
• Direct pathways into federal and commercial roles through SkillStorm’s employer network.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, demand for cloud and cybersecurity talent is projected to outpace overall tech job growth by 21% between 2021 and 2031. Yet more than 200,000 service members transition to civilian life each year without clear, affordable routes into these careers. SkillStorm’s mission‑aligned programs close that gap by delivering market‑ready skills at zero out‑of‑pocket cost for most participants.
“Empowering service members with the tools and certifications needed to excel in high‑demand tech careers isn’t just our business— it’s our mission,” said Justin Vianello, CEO of SkillStorm. “By bridging the gap between military expertise and civilian technology roles, we’re not only transforming individual careers but also addressing a critical skills shortage faced by the tech industry today.”
The new tracks are delivered in collaboration with workforce‑ focused colleges and universities nationwide, aligning courses to existing degree pathways while providing localized student services.

Money doesn’t just live in our wallets. It lives in our relationships, our health, in the food we eat, in how we spend our time… It determines how many options we have. It can be a constant source of stress or it can give us the freedom to live life on our own terms.
Most people carry their financial challenges in solitude. It wasn’t spoken of in their home growing up and they don’t talk about it now. Don’t worry. I won’t pressure you to break your silence. Instead, I come bearing a safe, anonymous space for you to share your concerns freely and receive compassionate, expert financial guidance. This is a place where judgment has no home, and your struggles are met with empathy, understanding and actionable solutions.
Q: My fiancé just confessed he has $60,000 in student loans... three weeks before our wedding. I had no idea. I feel blindsided. Am I wrong for wanting to call the whole thing off?
A: You’re not wrong for feeling betrayed. This isn’t just about debt—it’s about trust

and transparency. Marriage is a financial partnership, and entering it blind sets both of you up for resentment, miscommunication, and long term stress.
Ask yourself: Can you build a future with someone who hid something this big?
Postpone the wedding if needed—not as
punishment, but to rebuild honesty and get clear on your joint financial picture. Debt can be dealt with. Deception? That’s harder to budget around.
Q: I lent my best friend $2,500 a year ago. She still hasn’t paid me back. Every time I bring it up, she

changes the subject. I’m starting to resent her—badly.
A: That resentment is completely valid, and it’s eating away at your trust. When money and silence mix, even strong relationships can crumble. Be direct. Say, “I need to talk about the loan—it’s
weighing on me and affecting our friendship.” Offer a simple repayment plan, or if you’re able, forgive a portion. But either way, get clarity. Friendship doesn’t mean being financially taken advantage of.
Q: I’m 42, divorced, and starting completely over financially. My savings are gone, and I feel like a failure. Everyone else seems ahead of me.
A: First—you’re not a failure, and comparison is the thief of peace. You’re human and your story isn’t over. Life detours are part of the story, not the end of it. Plenty of people rebuild later in life and come back stronger. Start with one win: open a savings account, build a small cushion, track your spending. This next chapter can be smarter, calmer, and yours. And that strength? That’s something not everyone else has. Remember that financial wellness is a journey, not a destination. The goal is really just to be 1% better today than you were yesterday. You’re not alone in this journey—reach out, let us know what’s keeping you up at night. We’re here to support you.

Seeking Civic Tech: ACLS Digital Justice Grants Award Up to $125K to Grassroots Teams
ACLS Digital Justice Grants, Applications due: November 20, 2025 9:00 PM EST. Images of past winning projects.
Digital equity is about more than access—it’s about systemic justice. The ACLS (American Council of Learned Societies) is now accepting applications for its 2025 Digital Justice Seed and Development Grants, focused on community led projects that tackle issues of accountability, reparations, public health, and restorative justice through digital innovation.
With awards ranging from $60,000 to $125,000, this program empowers nonprofit and grassroots organizations—especially those led by marginalized or underserved communities, to create or scale platforms that redefine digital rights and civic engagement.
The American Council of Learned Societies invites applications for the 2025 competition of the ACLS Digital Justice Grants Program. Generously funded by the Mellon Foundation, this program supports digital projects across the humanities and social sciences that critically engage with the interests and histories of people of color and other historically marginalized communities through the ethical use of digital tools and methods. The program offers two kinds of grants: Digital Justice Seed Grants for start up projects, ranging from $10,000 $25,000 and Digital Justice Development
Grants, ranging from $50,000 $100,000, for projects that have advanced beyond the proof of concept phase. The deadline for applications is November 20, 2025, 9:00 PM EST.
The program seeks to address the inequities in the distribution of access to tools and support for digital work among scholars across various fields, those working with under utilized or understudied source materials, and those in institutions with less support for digital projects. It promotes inclusion and sustainability by extending the opportunity to participate in the digital transformation of humanistic inquiry to a greater number of humanities scholars and projects. Additionally, all grant recipients can receive general financial planning coaching from the Nonprofit Finance Fund to plan for the long term stewardship and sustainability of their projects.
ACLS Digital Justice Grants support projects that pursue the following activities:
Critically engage with the interests and histories of people of color and other historically marginalized communities, including (but not limited to) Black, Latinx, and Indigenous communities; people with disabilities; and queer, trans, and gender nonconforming people through the ethical use of digital tools and methods. Cultivate greater openness to new sources of knowledge and strategic approaches to content building and knowledge dissemination.
Wine was never just wine for Lynn Dowdell. It was laughter dancing through her grandmother’s house, hands curled around crystal, secrets uncorked and memories swirling rich as burgundy. It was discovering that luxury isn’t something worn — it’s felt. It’s the hush that falls when you’re fully seen, the slow pull of time when stories pour as easily as the cabernet.
So she built Vin Collective not just as a brand, but as an open door. An invitation to belong. A place where culture, craft, and connection meet at the table — elegantly, effortlessly, intentionally. Because for Lynn, true success isn’t counted in bottles opened, but in bridges built — across families, across cultures, across hearts. Here’s to legacy, luxury, and living stories worth sipping.
Founder’s Journey & Origins
1. Let’s rewind a bit. Before VIN Collective — what was your relationship with wine, and did you ever imagine building a business around it?
Wine has always been part of my life, not just as a beverage, but as an experience. At a young age through family Sunday dinners, I saw how a well‑chosen glass could turn a moment into a memory, and I was drawn to the emotion, elegance, and story behind every bottle. I never imagined building a business around it, but I always knew I wanted to create meaningful experiences. Vin Collective became the natural intersection of my passion, purpose, and a deep respect for entertaining and hospitality.
2. Was there a pivotal moment or realization that made you say, “This is more than a passion —it’s a business”?
Yes. I curated a private tasting experience for a group that included both wine novices and connoisseurs. Watching them engage, ask questions, and light up with curiosity and joy, that’s when I realized: this isn’t just something I love. It’s something I do well. And more importantly, it fills a gap. That was the moment I transitioned from passion to purpose, and then to profit.
3. What part of your background (personal or professional) most prepared you for entrepreneurship — even if it didn’t look like it at the time?
During my childhood, my life was filled with family members who owned their own businesses and worked hard to make sure that their families were taken care of. I hosted my own kiddie disco at the age of 6. I was a greeter or concierge of sorts as a young child in my great‑aunts beauty and barber salon. I ran a beauty supply store and snack shop all before the age of 14. I guess you can say the entrepreneurial spirit was a part of my

upbringing. Spending over two decades in customer service, operations, and leadership taught me everything about listening, elevating the client experience, and leading with empathy. Those weren’t just “jobs”, they were training grounds. They taught me how to build trust, adapt quickly, and deliver excellence, all of which became the heartbeat of Vin Collective.
Business Building & Brand Strategy
4. VIN Collective stands out visually and conceptually. How did you shape the brand’s identity — and what did you want it to feel like?
I wanted Vin Collective to feel like a whispered invitation into something special and refined, but not rigid. The brand identity is rooted in elevated simplicity: deep red wine tones, intentional language, and a touch of indulgence. It’s designed to feel luxurious yet approachable. Every element, from visuals to verbiage, is curated to say: you belong here.

5. What’s been the biggest lesson you’ve learned from building in a niche industry like wine?
That expertise is important, but experience is everything. People remember how you made them feel, not just what you poured. In a niche like wine, staying relevant means being both educator and storyteller helping people feel seen, not small.
6. From sourcing to storytelling, wine has many layers. How do you balance the business side with the artistry of it all?
I view them as intertwined. The business demands structure, logistics, pricing, scalability, but the artistry is what breathes life into it. I honor both. When I choose a wine or a spirituous liquor, I’m not just thinking about tannins, terroir or the aging process. I’m thinking about how it tells a story on a table, how it fits a mood, a moment. That balance keeps the business grounded, yet inspired.
7. As a woman navigating a male‑dominated space, what have you learned about commanding respect while staying authentic?
That presence and purpose speak louder than ego. I’ve learned to lead with both grace and grit, to be assertive without dimming my warmth or my light. Authenticity isn’t a weakness. It’s a superpower. And when I stand firmly in my values, I attract the right partnerships, the right rooms, the right energy.
8. How has building VIN changed you as a leader — or even as a person?
Building Vin Collective has made me more intentional. More discerning. More open. I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about creating the kind of environment where curiosity, collaboration, and creativity thrive. Personally, it’s taught me to trust myself more, to know that what I bring to the table is not only valid but valuable.
9. What boundaries have you had to set in business to protect your peace and purpose?
I’ve learned to say no to opportunities that don’t align with my brand or values, even if they come with a shiny offer. I protect my energy, my time, and my standards. That means prioritizing rest, quality over quantity, and trusting my gut. I built this from a place of passion, and I refuse to let it become just another hustle.

“We chose to return to Chicago for the 2025 edition of Vinitaly.USA because the city is a strategic hub for trade in the United States,” said Adolfo Rebughini, General Manager of Veronafiere. “Vinitaly.USA is designed to strengthen commercial ties and promote Italian food and wine culture. Through the Vinitaly hub, we believe it is essential to continue investing in an evolved marketplace that brings together qualified professionals, importers, distributors, and buyers, and creates opportunities for education and market insight. This year, we are expanding the event’s offerings to include SOLEXPO, the new international olive oil trade show, and Vinitaly Tourism, our latest initiative dedicated to wine tourism.
These additions enrich the experience and spotlight other icons of ‘Made in Italy.’ Collaboration and resilience are the keys to navigating market uncertainty and securing a prosperous future for the Italian wine industry in the United States.”
The major innovation at Vinitaly.USA this year is the wine2wine Vinitaly Business Forum – Special Edition, held in the U.S. for the first time. As Italy’s leading wine business platform, wine2wine brings targeted content and topical dialogue to

10. Your brand feels intentional. How do you define success when it comes to impact, not just revenue?
Success is when a client tells me they felt seen during an experience, or when someone leaves with not just wine knowledge, but a new level of self confidence. That’s the impact. That’s legacy. It’s not just about the bottles opened, it’s

Wine Spectator’s continued collaboration is also elevating the Vinitaly. USA program. “With Wine Spectator’s presence in Chicago to unveil the list of wineries selected for OperaWine 2026, a new chapter in the global growth of Italian wine, led by Veronafiere and Vinitaly, is taking shape,” said Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere SpA. “Vinitaly. USA represents a natural extension of our mission: to stand alongside Italian producers in the world’s most important markets, offering real business opportunities, international visibility, and direct access to the top players in the wine industry. 11. How do you stay connected to the consumer — especially in a world of digital noise and instant gratification?
By staying personal. Every DM, every email, every tasting is an opportunity to build a real relationship. I listen more than I post. I ask questions. I follow up. And I never treat people like data points. Connection is the true currency, and I treat it that way.

“We’re proud to welcome Gatorade to the F1 ACADEMY family,” said Susie Wolff, Managing Director of F1 ACADEMY. “What has impressed me most about Gatorade is how seriously they’re investing in our drivers, not just as athletes, but as individuals with incredible potential. This isn’t a surface level sponsorship, it’s a deeply hands on partnership that brings world class hydration science and performance expertise directly to our paddock. With the world class expertise of Gatorade, not only will our drivers be better equipped to perform at their peak, but they’ll also gain knowledge and tools that will serve them throughout their careers.”
This collaboration follows PepsiCo’s recently announced multi year worldwide official partnership with F1, running until 2030. More details of the brand partnership and how Gatorade will be working with the F1 ACADEMY drivers will be shared in the lead up to the sponsorship’s official commencement in the 2026 Formula 1 Season.
“At PepsiCo, we believe in the power of platforms and partnerships to shape the future of sport – and to do so with purpose,” said Jane Wakely, PepsiCo’s Chief Consumer and Marketing Officer. “This historic global partnership with F1, one of the world’s fastest growing sports, is a bold step forward in our mission to fuel fandom, create culture driving moments and incredible brand experiences on a global scale.”
12. Have there been any unexpected moments of community — customers, collaborations, or feedback — that reminded you why you do this?
Absolutely. One guest told me a tasting experience I curated helped them reconnect with their cultural roots, it reminded them of their grandmother’s table. That stopped me in my tracks. It reminded me that what I do isn’t surface level. It’s soulful.

how do you want people to feel when they interact with your brand?
I want Vin Collective to be synonymous with elevated, inclusive experiences. Ten years from now, I want it to feel like a movement, not just a brand. A global name that celebrates culture, storytelling, and connection through wine. When people engage with Vin Collective, I want them to feel celebrated, not just served and remember that luxury is truly a state of mind.
