Treasure Time wins at the York Ebor Festival!

Our quality three-year-old gelding gave his owners a day to remember when he won a heritage handicap (worth £100,000) at the York Ebor Festival in August!
Since the last edition when he had just won for the first time at Newmarket in July, our three-year-old son of Time Test went down by only a neck in mid-July at the same track, before being a very unlucky fifth at Glorious Goodwood. So, he went into the race at York in great form and we were very hopeful he’d run well, although you can never be confident in these valuable handicaps at top meetings, when you often need a horsewho’sbetterthanahandicapperto winone!

Trev broke beautifully from his inside stall and jockeyTomMarquandsettledhimjustbetterthan mid division on the rail, racing enthusiastically throughout. Entering the final four furlongs, the racebegantodevelopandTomaskedhimtoget a bit closer. Inside the final three furlongs, he called upon Trev to show him a change of gear and this was when he began to lengthen. Meanwhile, Volterra and Mount Teide, the eventual second and third, appeared to have slipped the field, but Trev started motoring and begantogothroughthegears.

It was only until just over a furlong from home when it started to sink in that he could be about to reel the leaders in - and the rest was an absolute joy to watch, as he showed a stunning turn of foot, powering down the outside and ultimately securing a pretty cosy victory in the end-somethingyoudidn'tthinkyou'dseeasyou willed him to 'please get there' all the way to the line! Racing TV commentator Stuart Machin described him during the latter stages as 'thunderingoverthetop'-incredible!

Not only was it a memorable day celebrating RaceShare’s biggest win to date, but over 130 owners were on track in our private facility generously given to usbyWilliamDerbyandtheteamatYork Racecourse! To have so many owners there - with a large number in the winner’s enclosure to cheer him home aftertherace-wasamazing.

After York, Treasure Time’s next big race assignment was another huge Flat fixturethe Doncaster St Leger meeting in mid-September!
Thistime, wewerefavouriteonStLegerday itself (the Saturday) - heading to the races withaleadingchanceonacardthatfeatures thefinalBritishClassicoftheseasonissome feeling! Unfortunately, the hard luck from Glorious Goodwood returned and Trev found himself shortofroomatacrucialstagebehindawall ofrunners.JockeyCierenFallonswitchedleft to try and get a gap, but was forced to then switch right before doing so, whilst the all-the-waywinnerwasimpossibletocatch.

So, when he eventually found daylight and poweredhomeforfourth-againshowingoff an electric turn of foot in softer ground conditions - it was another case of what couldhavebeen!

However, that’s racing and every single one of his owners was still so proud of him - and proud to be involved in such a qualityanimal.
Thanks to Doncaster Racecourse - we wereonceagainabletoofferallownersa private facility for the afternoon and, this time,over270joinedusontheday!
Each owner paid £40 for a general admission ticket to gain entrance to the track (discounted from £65 on the track’s busiest day of the year!) and had free access to the facility with amazing views of the course. First RaceShare100 jumper finishes thirdonhurdlesdebut!
Our first ever jumper for RaceShare100 (our new offering launched in May comprising only 100 shares) was an £85,000 purchase called Marlacoo, who had won a bumper on his only start at Down Royal in Ireland. The four-year-old joined Tom Lacey in Herefordshire and, after a summer break, was pleasing his traineraheadofhisdebutoverobstacles atWarwicklastweek.

We were delighted to see him give the odds-on favourite a real run for his money, challenging deep into the home straight, with jockey Stan Sheppard commenting afterwards that he thought he might win! He finished third and was only beaten two and a half lengths, so thiswasagreatstartandwecan’twaitto see how he progresses this Jumps season.

RaceShare100 filly Ann Terry finishes an excellentsecond!

Our first ever Flat purchase for the RaceShare100 syndicate was a two-year-old filly bought at the breeze-ups and subsequently named Ann Terry - by one of her owners, Mark - in memory of his sister AnnandbrotherTerry.
The daughter of Mohaather made a really promisingstarttolifewhenthirdonherdebut and bounced back from a couple of lesser runs recently when an excellent second at Pontefractononlyherfourthcareerstart.
She was away smartly from the gates and led for much of the way. She was joined by the favourite, who had some good recent form, and the pair were locked in battle down the home straight. That horse fended her off in the closing stages, but it was a very good effort and we are hopeful it won’t be long before she’s walking into the winner’s enclosureforherowners.
La Pulga wins for the second time in 2024!

August was some month for this little warrior, as he ran and was placed in the Racing League series three times! This event is fiercely competitive due to the excellent prize money on offer and it involves teams from across Britain, with tworunnersineachracefromeachteam.

La Pulga’s first assignment was at Wolverhampton, where he finished a solid third behind a runaway winner, before producing his best of the three efforts when half a length second at Newcastle to the useful Kamboo, who hadrunintheDerbythissummer!
That gutsy showing was followed by another third place finish - this time at Southwell - when beaten two and a half lengths!

We were therefore fairly confident that he would make a bold bid when sent to Thirsk in early September and so it proved, as he deservedly got his head back in front with a rather comfortablevictory! He was able to dominate the race from the front andpulledoutmoreasthechallengersappeared inthehomestraight.RiddenbyJasonHartforthe firsttimesincehissecondplaceatNewcastlelast October, it was great to get his second victory of the season on the board making 2024 already a more successful campaign than 2023 - with hopefullymoretocomethisautumn!

Buccabayjoinsthesquad!
Our buying team headed to the July horses-in-training sale at Tattersalls and weredelightedtopickupanotherquality handicapper called Buccabay for £65,000!

The son of Saxon Warrior already had a productive summer for previous connections, having finished a neck second at Ascot on his reappearance, before winning an 18-runner Saturday handicap at Haydock in May in good style!
After a break following the sales, his trainer Stuart Williams sent him to Yarmouth for his RaceShare debut and weexpecthimtocomeonplentyforthat
first run in nearly three months, so we look forward to the rest of the autumn withhim!

RaceShareheroScampiretires!
As one horse joined the team, unfortunately another left us and sadly it was the legend that isScampi! Unfortunately, he was found to have swelling in his leg following routine exercise and a subsequent scan showed that he would be at riskwithanyfurtherracing.
He was RaceShare’s first winner, back in May 2023attheYorkDantemeetingwhenspringing a 16/1 surprise and also won at the Shergar Cup inaterrificfirstseasonforRaceShare.

We are delighted to say that Pam and Kevin at New Beginnings in York have given him the perfectretirementhomeandthehopeisthathe will become an equine ambassador for York Racecourse starting next year, where he will attend race meetings and meet the general public to show off how special these athletes are! A special next chapter in an equally special storywithScampi.
