Golden Maverick hit the track for the first time in RaceShare silks in early February, having joined the team at the Tattersalls Horses-in-Training Sale last October. His trainer Jamie Snowden sent him up north from Lambourn to Catterick for a maiden hurdle, where his jumping was novicey but ultimatelyheputinapromisingdebuttofinish second behind a horse with proven form. Less than three weeks later, he encountered tough conditions at Ludlow, but again ran a really encouraging race, with improved jumping and he stayed on particularly well in thehomestraighttofinishaclosethird!

Golden Maverick (contd…)
So, with those two runs under his belt, we were hopeful it would be third time lucky, and so it proved! Itwasaselectfieldthatlinedupat Haydock and market support continued in the lead-up to the race. Thankfully, everything came together and favouritism was justified for our son of Zarak. The future looks bright for our boy, who is now a six-time winner underbothcodes!

First stable visits of the year!

Stable visit season is in full flow at RaceShare and we began in March with a visit to Venetia Williams’ Aramstone Stables in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside to see Jolly Nellerie. Around 100 owners and their guests spent time on the gallops watchingJollyandlookingaroundtheyard.
For all our owners, we film all of our stable visits in full so we are their eyes and ears if they cannot make the date. These feature length films are an importantpartoftheoverallRaceShareexperience.

First stable visits of the year!

Three weeks later we headed to Oxfordshire to visit the yard of Eve Johnson Houghton’s. Talk about stunning countryside, Eve’s Woodway Stables boast 200 acres of untouched turf downland gallops and it really is an incredible settingtotrainracehorses.WesawRobustoinall hisglorycanteringupthegallopsaheadofwhat will hopefully be a long and fruitful year for him, having been on the up all of last year for his previoustrainer.

First stable visits of the year!
The latest stable visit, at the time of publishing, was to Charlie Johnston’s serious setup in Middleham, North Yorkshire, home of our boy La Pulga. He could hardly have looked in better condition and Charlie was really generous with his time. Stable visit season continues into April, with trips upcoming to the yards ofJamieSnowden,WilliamHaggas,John& SeanQuinnandAndrewBalding!

The Flat is back!

The2024Flatturfseasonbeganattheend ofMarchandthatmeansit’snotlonguntil we see our five horses returning to the trackinthatsphere.
They include our flag-bearer Scampi, who excelled in our first year on the track, winning twice including at the prestigious YorkDantemeetingandatAscot’sShergar Cup. He has spent time in pre-training in WiltshirewithJamieMagee, whohasdone agreatjobwithhimandbeenreallyhappy with his progress. Our now six-year-old is likely to be aimed at many of the top Saturday handicaps, just as he was in the lastcampaign.Hehitthecrossbaracouple of times last season and we have high hopes for another good year with this popular horse, who seems to have captured the imagination of the general racingpublic!
The Flat is back!
Our newest recruit Robusto is not far off his first start in RaceShare silks, havingjoinedtheteamfromthesame sale as Golden Maverick. The former Sir Mark Prescott horse joined the yard of Eve Johnson Houghton, who is looking forward to getting started withhim.
Robusto was a four-time winner from
12 starts for Sir Mark, improving from an official mark of 58 to 81. His last start at Lingfield was that fourth victory, where he stretched out with real promise as they crossed the line, foranultimatelycosysuccess.
Let’s see if he can continue to progress through the grades in RaceShare silks this year - we are all eagertoseehowhegetson!

The Flat is back!
TreasureTimeisthesortofhorsethatmakesyou wish for the winter to be over, because he showed so much promise when we last saw him andisstillanunknownquantity.
Having made an inauspicious debut at Newbury last June, he put that well behind him when he returnedtothetrackinOctoberatKempton. This novice race assignment looked a hot one on paper, so to see him go through the gears in the home straight, before really putting the afterburners on close home and pushing the winner all the way to the line, was so encouraging! Defeated by only a neck, that second place - which was not expected on the night - made us dream of success in higher gradesthisseason! OursonofTimeTestisinfulltrainingandcoming along really nicely. The William Haggas team are lookingforwardtohimthisseason, forsure!

The Flat is back!
La Pulga was another winner in our first yearonthetrackin2023whenboltingup at Hamilton in June and he is also nearing a first run of the year. The weather is not helping in that respect, because he proved over the course of last season whenfacingavarietyofconditions, thathe performsbestongoodground.
We can already sense that means a bit of a waiting game for him this spring, particularly as we look out and see pouringrainaswewritethis-butperhaps instead that could mean a return to the all-weather and maybe a return to Newcastle, where he ran so well to finish second on his debut on an artificial surface, backinOctober.
Havingrun12timeslastyear,he’slikelyto haveanotherbusyseasonandhopefullya second victory - and fifth in his career - is justaroundthecornerforhisowners!

The Flat is back!

Completing the quintet of Flat prospects for this year is Red Mirage, who perhaps could befirstofthemalltoreturntotheracecourse.
John&SeanQuinnhavealreadyearmarkeda race for him at Southwell on April 11, which is just around the corner now. Wherever he heads for his seasonal debut, we can hope for a promising performance for three reasons: firstly, because he has had a wind operation this year, secondly because he dropped 12lbs below his last winning mark after a tough 2023 and, thirdly, he tends to runhisbestraceswhenfresh.

Big Red, as he is affectionately known, is a good example of racehorses not always delivering, butthatcanhappenandallismost certainly not lost with him - hopefully, he can provethatthisyear!

Launching our new partnership withRacingTV!
In January, in partnership with RaceShare, Racing TV officially launched a syndicate horse, LirSpeciale, totheirmembers.Thisexcitingnew venture involves a free share in the horse if you are a Racing TV subscriber. We at RaceShare run the syndicate, organising events and sending updates to the owners just like our otherhorses!
Lir Speciale was a 50,000gns purchase at the Tattersalls Horses-in-Training Sale in October and he has some high quality form to his name. He is a four-time winner from 12 starts and ran predominantly over 7f last year, but we feel he has untapped potential over sprint trips and it will be fascinating to see how he gets on this season.
Visit racingtv.com/syndicate for more information!
