Aidan McGarry Racecourse Manager Eddie Moran Owner Liaison
Good afternoon, everybody and welcome to Naas Racecourse for another quality day of flat racing and we are delighted to have the €100,000 TallyHo Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes as todays feature race. A big thank you to the O’Callaghan Family of Tally-Ho Stud for their continued partnership here at Naas Racecourse.
Tally-Ho Stud just outside Mullingar is one of the leading stallion stud farms in the country as well as one of Europe’s leading sale consignors. When you think Tally-Ho, you think speed. The array of stallions they have produce fast and sound horses that consistently win top races around the world.
The Irish EBF are sponsoring three exciting two-year-old maidens, including a race that has previously produced top-class winners such as Garden of Eden, who went on to land the Naas Oaks Trial and the prestigious Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot. Be sure to mark your cards!
We are also thrilled to welcome back our friends from the Hartes Group, proud owners of three of Kildare’s finest gastropubs - The Ballymore Inn, The Dewdrop Inn & Brewhouse, and Hartes of Kildare Town - along with their outstanding artisan grocery store, Firecastle. All three venues are multi award-winning and the perfect places to round off a great day at the races. Don’t forget to use the 15% discount voucher included in your racecard at their restaurants. Many thanks to the Hartes Group team, and we hope you enjoy your day with us.
Finally, we are delighted to acknowledge TRM, who sponsor our concluding race of the afternoon. As one of Europe’s leading manufacturers and distributors of nutritional feed supplements and equine healthcare products, their continued support of Naas Racecourse is hugely appreciated.
A big welcome today to all our hospitality guests today, including a large group from the Retired Members of the Irish Stable Staff Association. They have done tremendous work over the years and it is a pleasure to have them with us today. To all our other racegoers, there are plenty of hospitality options available in the Post Restaurant today run by our caterers Lily & Wild. The café on the ground floor of the Grandstand has lots of sweet treats while the public bar is located on the ground floor of The Circle building.
We race next on Thursday the 18th September for our Juvenile Raceday as we see a full card of 2-year-olds and potential future champions. Enjoy your day and have a safe journey home.
Best Wishes
Aidan McGarry Manager amcgarry@naasracecourse.com

With an official rating of 86 and Nicola Burns claiming 7lb into the bargain, LUNA MIA should be hard to beat, especially if the addition of cheekpieces has a positive effect. Elly Bay has been placed on both starts, and Conqueering Marin reached the money first time, though soundly beaten. They may face competition for the place money from Hazrama and Remember That. No match for a smart filly here in June, DAWN ROMANCE is worth another chance despite having failed to cope with a 50-1 shot at Cork ten days ago. She should be a little sharper now and is preferred to You’ll Think Of Me, who can be expected to show the benefit of an initial outing at the Curragh five weeks ago. A return to maiden company should do the trick for UNBREAKABLE DUKE who ran a fine race in smart company in the C&D Ballyhane Stakes. In theory, he has a 10lb advantage over Fresh Fade, the only other member of this field that could be confidently identified as a likely danger on what we have seen so far. Nothing is set in stone here but racing towards the stands side was of benefit in sprints at the last meeting. LISMACBRYAN did well to finish fourth that day having gravitated towards the high numbers from a single-figure stall. Lismacbryan Hill was only 13-2 for that same race and not helped by her track position, and neither was Ballysax Lil’ Mick who then came out and won at Tipperary. They all have chances, as do many others in what looks a minefield. [Alistair Jones] Source: Racing Post

It wouldn’t be a surprise should recent Church Mountain defy his 11lb rise and check the market as regards his stablemate Crooked Path who is making his handicap debut. Lady Tartaraghan are others with chances but perhaps handicaps will trigger a spike in fortune for the well, who could yet benefit from blinkers as it was her debut on slow ground when sporting them once before. An interesting race, principally due to the presence of REYENZI. He has been his own worst enemy in Group races the last twice but a gelding operation could sort him out and it would be no surprise to see him back at Pattern level should all go well on this handicap debut. Cap Saint Martin is another who could benefit from being gelded, as might Reyenzi’s stablemate Tashir Molto Amichi didn’t get the breaks here last time and he won’t remain a maiden for long.[Alistair Jones] Source: Racing Post
