Aidan McGarry Racecourse Manager

On behalf of the board and team at Naas Racecourse, we are delighted to welcome you today to our first jumps fixture of the new season. The Return of the Jumps is always an exciting time of year and with a card featuring the Barberstown Castle Chase (Grade 3) and the SIS Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle (Listed), we look set for a high-class day of jumps racing to kick start the season.
Moran Owner Liaison
The continued support of Barberstown Castle today is hugely appreciated and we are delighted to welcome Amanda Torrens and the team as our feature sponsor of the day. Based a little over 20 minutes from Naas, just outside Straffan, Barberstown Castle is a beautiful place to enjoyed fabulous food, and service in a special setting.
We are delighted to welcome SIS as new sponsors to Naas Racecourse and their backing of the valuable SIS Brown Lad Handicap Hurdle has been rewarded with a competitive field. We are thrilled to have Overlander Horseboxes back sponsoring today and you will see one of their boxes parked in the enclosure. The perfect combination of style and safety, the latter being incredibly important when transporting thoroughbreds across the country and the world. As a local company it is brilliant to have them, and the national hunt horses, back ‘on board’!
We also have local support from David Mongey’s Mongey Communications, whose work you will know well by the great big screens around the course and at other big sporting events throughout Europe, along with Oliver McKiernan’s Cavan Developments in their support of St Mary’s GAA who are holding their fundraiser in the Panoramic Restaurant today. Oliver is a family businessman building many houses in the area, he is also a trainer and his horses have a habit of running very well in his sponsored races, so keep an eye on his runners today.
The Irish European Breeders’ Fund continues to provide a vital boost to prizemoney all year round for owners across both codes and we have two strong races on the card for them today. Thanks to Nessa Joyce and the board of the Irish EBF for their continued backing of our National Hunt season here at Naas. Finally, amongst our sponsors, we also welcome back Gavin Lynch Racing, make sure to visit www.gavinlynchracing.com, where all of Gavin’s race previews, reviews and selections can be found. A huge fan of National Hunt Racing, Gavin is well known as one of Ireland’s top tipsters as well as the founder of Curragh To Curragh Charity Cycle, a charity that continues to raise huge sums of money for cancer research.
A big thank you to the owners, trainers, and stable staff of today’s runners, we wish everyone the best, both on and off the track. Last weekend, Naas Racecourse collected the Racecourse of the Year Award at the Association of Irish Racehorse Owners Awards for the fourth year in a row. This is a huge honour for Naas Racecourse and we thank all the owners around the country who voted for us. The management and board of Naas would also like to as those who work to make the owner and customer experience here at Naas so special – from the small teams in the office and track, to the casual raceday team who provide great support. Their hard work does not go unnoticed and we are very lucky to have them.
Today’s race meeting is our penultimate of the year and we are already looking forward to our Christmas Party Race Day on December 15th. There are many hospitality options available to kick-start the festive season, so be sure to visit www.naasracecourse.com for all ticket options, as well as to view our Christmas gifts, ranging from gift vouchers to racecourse memberships which our now on sale.
Best Wishes
Aidan McGarry Manager amcgarry@naasracecourse.com

As Chairman, I would like to welcome you all here today to our annual Corporate Race Day. The day is always an extremely enjoyable day providing an ideal opportunity for our members and friends to socialise and mingle in the comforting surroundings of Naas Racecourse.
I am particularly looking forward to the second race of the day, The Cavan Developments Home Builders Supporting St Marys GAA Maiden Hurdle.
A special thanks to Oliver Mc Kiernan and family who are great friends and have been loyal supporters of St Marys for many years. Oliver and Carmel, your ongoing support is very much appreciated and valued.

St Mary ’s GAA Club is one of the oldest GAA clubs in Dublin, founded in 1906, we promote Gaelic Football in the areas of Saggart, Rathcoole, Citywest and Brittas. These areas have had massive surges in population recently which has been mirrored by our increase in new juvenile members. However, our increasing membership numbers place a demand on already stretched resources which means fundraising days like today are vital to the Club.
We are delighted to announce the most ambitious development project in the history of our club.
Construction is set to begin early in 2026 on a brand-new all-weather astro pitch at our club grounds in Saggart, along with a full upgrade of our main pitch to a state-ofthe-art, sand-based grass surface.
This investment will transform our facilities, allowing all our playing members to train and compete year-round, regardless of weather conditions.
The total cost of the project is estimated at €805,000. Thanks to the incredible support of our members, corporate sponsors, and grant funding, this entire development will be completely self-financed.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who continues to support the growth and future of our club. Below is an artist ’s impression of what our new club grounds will look like once the works are complete — a facility that will serve generations to come.

I want to express our sincere thanks to our Members and friends who supported today ’s event, without your generosity we could not operate. A special word of thanks to the organising Committee for arranging every aspect of this event … Thanks Bren, Dave and Sharon, not an easy task and again you went over and above to make sure it would be a success, much appreciated.
Lastly Thanks to Niamh & Milly and Naas Racecourse for their warm welcome and hospitality, always a superb service here.
I hope you all have a fantastic day and look forward to chatting to you all throughout the day

The top-rated of these is POSITIVE ENERGY courtesy of a heavy ground debut hurdles win and although he disappointed on his subsequent start, softer conditions will suit here and the booking of Paul Townend is a positive. The selection would give Our Lucky Lady 25lb on the Flat, but she has been turned inside out over timber and confirmed her debut promise when easily winning last time, yet softer conditions are a question mark. Similar ground concerns arise for the dependable bumper performer Hopeful Hero, while Tir Og is also a model of consistency. [Denis Harney]

Selection FRUIT DE MER
Demoted to second after causing interference on bumper debut at Limerick, FRUIT DE MER was an easy point-to-point winner and can make amends on his first try over hurdles. Newbrook Diamond makes his rules debut after being bought by connections following a point-to-point win on his second attempt and he should give the selection most to do. [Denis Harney]

Selection SYSKO
It hardly needs to be said that topclass chaser Spillane’s Tower sticks out a mile, but there is probably value in opposing him in view of the fact that his technique has not been publicly tested for so long. With 7lb claimed off bottom weight THE NAGGER REIDY is suggested as a viable each-way alternative. Sysko and Letos appeal as likely future handicap winners and could feature in an intriguing contest, along with Leopardstown Chase winner Backtonormal. [Alan Sweetman]

This is puzzling despite the compact field. The conditions of the race sway the vote in the direction of INTHEPOCKET who runs well fresh and comes from a bang-in-form top stable. Besides, at this stage, he may be more comfortable at this trip than Champ Kiely, who signed off in the spring with a 3m1f Grade 1 win. Only By Night had smart 2m form as a novice. Ile Atlantique blotted his record before the break. [Alan Sweetman] Source: Racing Post
