Good afternoon everyone and we are delighted to welcome you to Naas Racecourse for our William Hill Spring Festivals Trials Day.
Eddie Moran Owner Liaison
Before looking ahead to the rest of the day, I am sure I speak for everyone here today when I say we are all thinking of Michael, all his family and friends. It has been a heartbreaking week for those closest to Michael and the tributes and goodwill this week from all around the country and further afield is hopefully some small comfort at a very dark time. A week like this puts everything into perspective and we send all our love and prayers to everyone who has struggled these last number of days. A special mention today to Michael’s colleagues in the weighroom who are having to pick themselves up and continue racing.
As we look forward to today’s racing, we extend a big thank you to both our returning and new sponsors. We are especially delighted to welcome William Hill as the title sponsor of the day. They are sponsoring four races on the card, including the Winning Fair Juvenile Hurdle and the Nás na Ríogh Handicap Chase. William Hill has shown incredible support for racing on both sides of the Irish Sea, and we are thrilled to host them for sponsorship ahead of the Spring Festivals here at Naas.
At Naas, we are committed to providing the best possible track conditions for our runners, and a huge part of that is thanks to DAR Golf Construction. Their expertise ensures our ongoing track upgrades, and we’re delighted to have them with us today as sponsors of the Newlands Chase.
It’s also wonderful to welcome back the Pertemps Network Group as we host the final leg of their series. We look forward to cheering on today’s qualifiers as they book their place for the final at the Cheltenham Festival next month.
Finally, we are excited to share that Lily & Wild is expanding its presence at Naas. Along with their sponsorship today, from next week, you’ll be able to visit the Lily & Wild restaurant at The Post every day! Be sure to return soon and enjoy their fantastic brunch menu.
For those looking to enjoy an extra special day. Catering is available in The Panoramic Restaurant on the first floor of The Grandstand, which I would highly recommend, and the café is situated on the ground floor. The Post self-service restaurant is located beside the parade ring. There is a public bar on the ground floor of both The Grandstand and The Circle. There is also a coffee van in the enclosure between The Circle and Grandstand. Please approach a member of staff if you need any assistance or you can go to the Race Day office beside the entrance turnstiles, where they will be happy to help you. There is a Creche available on-site which you can find behind the Grandstand to the left at your entry point.
My email is below should you need to contact me with anything, please enjoy your day and have a safe journey home. Our next race day is in two weeks on Sunday March 9th where we have The Bar One Racing Leinster National as the day’s feature.
Aidan McGarry Manager
The Chairman, Directors and Management of Naas Racecourse would like to thank today’s sponsors:
At every meeting there are specially qualified equine veterinary surgeons on duty to look after the well-being of all the horses racing. There is a vet in attendance at the start of each race who follows the horses throughout the race and is quickly on hand if a casualty occurs. It is normal procedure to erect screens around any horse receiving veterinary treatment. This allows the veterinary surgeon some privacy to fully assess the horses’ injuries and racegoers should not assume the worst if screens are erected around an injured horse. The Blue Cross ambulance is always present to transport the horse back to the stable yard for further treatment if necessary. A secondary veterinary surgeon is in attendance in the stable yard to assess and treat any horse requiring such attention post race. The horses’ welfare is always our priority.
The Association of Irish Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons (AIRCVS)
We do not have an ATM on-site; however, we can provide cash back in our Raceday office. The Raceday office is located beside the turnstiles.
The Circle Bar is located on the ground floor of The Circle Building. The TOTE Bar is located on the ground floor of the Grandstand Building.
Bookmakers Ring is situated at the front of the Grandstand. Tote and Paddy Power shops are located in the Grandstand. Tote Operators are also located in The Post, The Circle, and The Panoramic Restaurant.
For opening hours following the day of racing please check at the Raceday office.
Creche facilities are run by Inspire Child Development Centre, located to the left as you enter via the turnstiles. The Creche is a free facility for our racegoers. It opens an hour before the first race and closes after the last race. The playground is situated below the Grandstand.
Changing facilities are situated on the bottom floor of The Grandstand and The Circle.
Located on the Second Floor of the Grandstand Building.
Toilet Facilities are situated on the ground floor of The Grandstand next to lower exit doors, by the men’s toilets, The Circle, and The Post. Parking is available directly outside the turnstiles. Our Parking attendants will be glad to assist you.
The Goffs Owners & Trainers Lounge is reserved for Owners & Trainers who have a runner on the day. The Lounge is located on the first floor of The Circle Building.

Selection PATTER MERCHANT
The 11yo Waittillitellyou won as he liked at Navan but the veteran will need a big career best if he is to follow up. Senior Chief is rated 13lb higher over fences and could go well, as could Heliko Conti, The Story So Far and the hat-trick seeking Bridie’s Beau. However, a chance is taken on the bottom weight JERIKO DE BAUNE. He’s 1lb wrong but his rider claims 5lb, he’ll handle the ground and if he repeats his staying on sixth at Navan he should be thereabouts. [Dave Stephens]
