THE GUINNESS GALWAY HURDLE HANDICAP OF €270,000 (GRADE 3) (Generously sponsored by Guinness) Winner will receive €162,000 (Penalty Value: €159,300), Second will receive €54,000, Third will receive €27,000, Fourth will receive €13,500, Fifth will receive €8,100, Sixth will receive €5,400. An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards that have run at least four times in hurdle races up to and including 20th July 2025. About 2 miles 11 yards. €1,350 to enter on July 16th €1,080 extra if forfeit not declared by July 24th and €270 extra if declared to run. PenaltiesWinner of a hurdle race or hurdle races after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper. In the event of the top weight remaining prior to the preliminary ballot being less than 11st 12lb, it shall be raised to that weight and all of the other horses shall be raised by an equal amount. (Penalties incurred by winning after the calculation of the weights shall be added to the weight of the horse as originally published before the raising of weights). The preliminary ballot will then be made in accordance with HRI Directive 10 except the winner of The QuinnBet ‘Bellewstown’ Handicap Hurdle at Bellewstown on July 5th, 2025 which shall be exempt from the ballot if their weight is 10st or above. The IHRB have suspended the relevant sections of Rules 194 and 195 for the purpose of this race. The following procedures will apply for reserves. There will be a maximum of three reserves at time of Declaration on Tuesday, 29th July. Should one or more horses be declared non-runners to the IHRB by 10.00 a.m. Wednesday, 30th July, these non-runners will be replaced in the race by those reserves which have been declared to the I.H.R.B. by 10.00 a.m. Wednesday, 30th July in their order of priority. There shall be no reserves in the race after this time and any horse which has not obtained a place in the race at this time will be automatically removed from the race as a reserve. Declarations of riders for any reserve which obtains a place in the race and for which a rider has not already been declared must be made by 10.00 a.m. Wednesday, 30th July.
