We have two campuses in the heart of the Richmond and Surbiton communities. We offer a broad and diverse range of qualification, vocational, leisure, wellbeing and business courses for all members of the community at Parkshot, alongside women-only courses, leisure classes and a new programme for adults with disabilities at Hillcroft.

PARKSHOT, RICHMOND Our Parkshot campus is perfectly located just two minutes from Richmond station and has superb facilities including a specialist art school, exhibition and gallery space, dedicated business school, graphic design and IT suites, 120-seat theatre and a cafĂŠ.

An exciting project to support women and girls back into education. Our Big Lottery Funded Initiative aims to empower women and girls to take control of their lives by building confidence, improving wellbeing and developing new skills.

HILLCROFT, SURBITON Our Hillcroft campus is just two minutes from Surbiton train station.

At Hillcroft our Women’s Education programme is designed to support women back into learning to improve their life opportunities; including progressing to higher level study or employment.

Courses are available during the day and we also offer a residential option for those who might find the dedicated time to study in a supported environment beneficial.

The campus also runs a host of community leisure courses open to learners of all genders, alongside a specialist programme for adults with learning difficulties/or disabilities.

1. ONLINE • Find your course. Browse through the options on the website, or simply type the name of your course or the course code in the search bar at RHACC.AC.UK • Click on the right day or time for you • Click on Apply/Enrol now and complete the online form

2. FEES AND DISCOUNTS You will be asked about your income and entitlement to a discount or concession – we then apply the discount straight to the checkout.

3. IN PERSON Call into our campuses in Parkshot or Surbiton and complete your enrolment with an adviser.

4. GET STARTED Once you have completed your enrolment you will be given details of the course start times and what you need to bring. All you have to do next is just turn up and enjoy!*

*You must be able to provide evidence of your entitlement to the discount/concession you claim.

LEARNING SUPPORT We make sure that students with disabilities and learning difficulties have all the support they need to be able to access and complete their course. Learning support is provided for students on qualification courses who have a learning difficulty and/or disability.

LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRES Our Learning Resource Centres offer much more than just books – they are a space for quiet study outside the classroom to focus on assignments, research projects and exam preparation. We offer a full lending library, photocopying, additional learning support software, and IT support.

50% DISCOUNT

FREE ENGLISH AND MATHS COURSES If you don’t already have a GCSE grade C/4 or above, then English and Maths courses up to and including Level 2/GCSE are free.

If you have an income of less than £27,000 and you: • Are unemployed and on benefits

• Are over 65 and living alone

FREE FIRST FULL LEVEL 2 OR 3 COURSE

• Have learning difficulties or disabilities

FOR 19–23 YEAR OLDS

• Have mental health difficulties

If you are aged between 19 and 23 and are studying for your first full Level 2 or 3 course then the course is free.

• Are employed and receiving income related benefits • Are a carer

25% DISCOUNT If you are aged 70 or over.

To receive your discount you just self-declare online or in person and this will be applied at time of payment.

CONCESSIONS There are also concessions for qualification courses – these are shown in this guide with Courses are reduced or free if you are: • Receiving Jobseeker’s Allowance including National Insurance credits only.

• Receiving Employment and Support Allowance and in a working related activity group.

• Earning less than £338 per month and intend to progress into employment and are in receipt of Universal Credit, Council Tax Benefit,** Housing Benefit or Income Support.

• Unemployed and are a financial dependent of someone in receipt of Working Tax Credit.

• If you are employed and earning less than £15,736.50 per year, courses marked with a may be free.

**Not applicable for 25% single occupancy.

CRÈCHE OUR CRÈCHE IS FOR CHILDREN AGED SIX MONTHS TO FOUR YEARS. The crèche is open term time, 9am to 5pm with full day and half day sessions available. Bursary support is available to help pay for childcare costs for eligible learners.

ESOL AND EFL Learn English with our friendly ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classes.

WHICH COURSE, ESOL OR EFL? English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

How long are the courses?

ESOL courses help you to use English for everyday life, communicate with others, improve your skills for work or help your children in school. ESOL courses are for people who are living and want to stay in the UK. All our courses look at topics related to living and working in the UK. We cover Reading, Writing and Speaking and Listening so you can work on the skills you need.

Courses run for three terms per year, 10–13 weeks per term, so you can join a class when it suits you and progress up the levels at your own pace. You can also join our short courses which run for five to six weeks.

English as a Foreign Language (EFL) If you are looking for an internationally recognised qualification such as the Cambridge PET, FCE, CAE, CPE or IELTS, an EFL course is the course for you. Our courses start from Pre-Intermediate level all the way up to Proficiency.

Where are the courses held?

Courses are held at our main centres in Parkshot and Hillcroft and also at a range of community venues in Richmond.

How do I enrol?

We start with a Step into English session where you will have an assessment and interview so we can decide on the right level course for you.

FEES, DISCOUNTS AND LOANS To make our courses more accessible to more people we have expanded our discounts and concessions.

DIFFERENT WAYS TO PAY

DISCOUNTS

PAY-AS-YOU-GO (PAYG)

COURSES MARKED WITH

You can try some of our leisure courses on a pay-as-you-go basis.

50% discount if you have an income of less than £27,000 and you:

INSTALMENTS

• Are unemployed and on benefits.

You can spread the cost of your course over multiple payments:

• Are employed and receiving income related benefits.

Paying in two parts:

• Are over 65 and living alone.

Only available to courses that run for one term only and are a minimum of 10 weeks long.

• Have learning difficulties or disabilities.

Paying by instalments: • Courses over £150 can be paid in three instalments.

• Are a carer.

• Have mental health difficulties.

25% discount if you are aged 70 or over.

• Courses over £300 can be paid in five instalments.

To receive your discount you just self-declare online or in person.

• Courses that run over two years may be paid in 10 instalments.

CONCESSIONS

BURSARY AND LOANS HELP WITH COSTS OF ATTENDING COLLEGE We have a college bursary that can help students experiencing hardship. We may be able to provide support with the cost of fees, residential costs, travel to college, course materials and childcare payments.

NOTE: You will have to provide evidence of eligibility at enrolment. Discounts and concessions can only be applied at the time of enrolment and cannot be applied for retrospectively.

QUALIFICATIONS COURSES MARKED WITH Courses are reduced or free if you are: • Receiving Jobseeker’s Allowance including National Insurance credits only.

• Receiving Employment and Support Allowance and in a working related activity group.

• Earning less than £338 per month and intend to progress into employment and are in receipt of Universal Credit, Council Tax Benefit,* Housing Benefit or Income Support.

ADVANCED LEARNER LOANS MARKED WITH

• Unemployed and are a financial dependent of someone in receipt of Working Tax Credit.

If you are 19+ and studying for an eligible Level 3 or 4 course, then you can pay the fees with an Advanced Learner Loan which are only repaid when you earn over £25,000. Visit www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan

• If you are employed and earning less than £15,736.50 per year, courses marked with a may be free.

If you still have difficulty paying your fees, even if you are in receipt of one of the above bursaries, we have an additional bursary fund available. Simply tell us about your particular circumstances which make it difficult to afford the fees, travel or materials.

This might include, but is not restricted to, a learning difficulty, disability, low paid job, dependants, caring responsibilities etc.

FREE ENGLISH AND MATHS COURSES If you don’t already have a GCSE grade C/4 or above, then English and Maths courses up to and including Level 2/GCSE are free.

FREE FIRST FULL LEVEL 2 OR 3 COURSE FOR 19–23 YEAR OLDS If you are aged between 19 and 23 and are studying for your first full Level 2 or 3 course then the course is free. *Not applicable for 25% single occupancy.
