Police say, Alvaro Javier Hidalgo, impersonated an officer while robbing nine people along the North Freeway and the North Loop.

Hidalgo flashed a badge, pointed a gun at the victims and took money, cell phones, and even a pickup truck.

Some of the victims were even pistol-whipped during the robbery and sustained injuries to their faces.

Hidalgo robbed another victim at a Katz Boutique just up the feeder road, according to police. Hidalgo was even brazen enough to car-jack the last victim and stole his red truck at gunpoint.

The letter goes on and on about people of Mexican descent - “you have a few days to be in this country” ... “you’re going to be shipped out of here” ... “If you don’t like it come see me.” The letter filled with threats to no one in particular, but it is still inexcusable to let a child read such racism, violence, and threats in any written form.

“They must have a lot of hatred toward Mexican people to write something like this,” added Hastings. “I don’t know what happened to make them write something like this but they must have a lot of hatred in their heart.”

H

ouston Police Officers lost a brother this week. Wilfred Navarro, Jr, 87, from Houston, passed away from natural causes on August 2, 2016.

Mr. Navarro was born in Houston, March 27, 1929. He grew up in Houston’s sixth ward, and Wilfred grew up within sight of the Houston Police Department (HPD) Headquarters, located at 61 Riesner St. at the time, where he would find his calling in life.

After service in the U.S. Navy, Wilfred began his career with HPD in 1950. Initially serving in the patrol division, W His career began in 1950 in HPD, after service in the US Navy, and included a stint at the original HPD community-policing center at Ripley House.

In 1955, Wilfred moved in hopes this would lay a foundation upon which his family could succeed. He worked tirelessly to support his family and a new home.

Wilfred and family were even founding members of the new-

ly established St. John Vianney Catholic Church in 1966. Wilfred was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an active parishioner.

In 1980, Mayor Jim Mc Conn appointed Mr. Navarro Chief of the Houston Airport Police Department. He remained in charge of police services at all the Houston airports and Ellington Field until his retirement in 2000. Chief Navarro dedicated 50 years of public service to the City of Houston. He was actively involved in a number of organizations related to his police career and was instrumental in negotiating the purchase of land on which the Houston Police Officers Union and the Houston Police Federal Credit Union buildings are situated.

Chief Navarro was a member of the Hispanic American Police Command Officers Association (HAPCOA). He served on the National Board of Directors and was elected, serving as its National President serving from 1991 to 1992.

TEXAS CHUPACABRA By: Jose Saenz

Owned by Phyllis Canion, this stuffed specimen is an accepted Texas Chupacabra, although experts say it is a coyote. The truth will become known.

F

or 10 years, legends of the blood-sucking monster have made rural life more interesting, fueled by a succession of alleged carcasses, and sightings. According to Ben Radford, researcher with the Center for Skeptical Inquiry and author of Tracking the Chupacabra, Texas is a big ole’“chupacabra factory,” one of the foremost states associated with the vampire-dog.

The chupacabra did not always live in Texas, and it did not always look like a dog, because in the 21 years since the first supposed sightings of the creature, it has been a spine-backed alien, a winged kangaroo or a goblin, or predatory monkey. Only the sea monkey saved face in this whole fiasco. Still, there is a common denominator: The chupacabra is constantly preying upon farm animals, and always leaving a trail of death.

In the summer of 1995, there was an explosion of livestock killings that baffled authorities, witnesses, and, well… livestock in the towns of rural Puerto Rico. The victims were found with instrument type and laser or burns associated with the wounds at their throats, seemingly empty of blood. Soon dark rumors spread throughout the island, and a name was born: chupacabra, the goatsucker extraordinaire. That August, as the panic was building to a fever pitch, a woman

named Madelyne Tolentino reported a bizarre sighting outside her mother’s house in Canovanas.

A long-limbed, earless creature with a spiny back appeared in the yard, she said, huge eyes staring through the window. Spooked by her scream, the thing leaped into the jungle.

In the wake of Tolentino’s account, aided by a sketch she later produced with local UFO researcher Jorge Martin, reports of bipedal, spiny and red-eyed creatures proliferated — over 200 in Puerto Rico alone. Some asserted that it was an escaped United States genetics experiment, or an alien collecting blood to spread AIDS. Its form fluctuated wildly — the number of spines on its back, whether it crept or leaped, or flew on bat wings, or floated through the air using psychokinesis. The first sighting in the continental United States took place a year later in Miami, with others appearing in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Spain and Portugal. Within a few years, the chupacabra had transformed into a full-blown global phenomenon.

However, the most radical change was yet to come. In 2000, Radford said, a Nicaraguan rancher shot and wounded something attacking his goats. A few days later, a ranch hand found the carcass — a hairless, rangy-looking canid. It was the first time an actual body had been associated

with the legend, and despite claims by the rancher and an overzealous media that it was a genetics experiment or a cross between a wolf and a crocodile, a cursory examination by anatomy specialists at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua revealed that it was a common dog, likely stricken with mange. The rancher protested, accusing the university of a conspiracy. However, a new model for the goatsucker had emerged — a skulking, monstrous canine, much like the ones Canion would collect in Cuero.

In 2004, 2007 and 2009, several chupacabra carcasses popped up in the central part of the state, many with warty skin and protruding teeth. All of them, including Canion’s, have been subjected to DNA testing, and the results have been the same: mangy, sickly coyotes or dogs.

This diagnosis does not satisfy Canion. “I have now done DNA at five different universities.

They do not match any animal in the archive,” she said. This is not true: as reported in Radford’s book, Texas State University researchers found that the DNA was a complete match for a coyote. Other labs concurred. However, Canion is undeterred. She is kept the carcass and skull in her freezer and has a taxidermy mount of the the gnarled, ugly creature on display.

When pressed, Canion said she does not know what her chupacabra is. She speculated that it is a hybrid with a Mexican wolf, or an escapee from some dog breeder in the area. Perhaps, she said, the chupacabra are a type of coyote, but of a rare sort and naturally hairless, maybe living underground and very fond of blood.

No matter the creature’s appearance, the chupacabra believers fixate on its alleged thirst for blood, pointing to drained livestock as evidence of its existence.

Most people are not familiar with forensic evidence: In dead animals, the drop in blood pressure leads to the blood pooling in the lowest portions of the body, but if you stick it with a knife, it will not

bleed unless you flip over the body to where the blood has seeped.

Even assuming the blood had been drained, the bodies that Canion describes do not seem physically capable of doing it. There are real vampiric animals: mosquitos, lamprey eels, vampire bats and blood is not an easy thing to make a living from if it is high in iron, and can cause a dangerous buildup in the bloodstream. Actual vampires, said Radford, “Have structures in their mouths and digestive systems that would allow them to suck blood and digest it without injuring them.” The creatures that have been offered up as chupacabra may look bizarre, but they just do not have the anatomy for vampirism.

What then is killing the livestock? The answer is a disappointingly common one: coyotes and feral dogs. It is commonly, and mistakenly, believed that feral dogs eagerly devour their prey. Domestic dogs often kill with a bite to the neck and then leave the carcass. By the time the kill is found, its blood has settled to the bottom, with a rip or puncture at the neck the only sign of attack.

The chupacabra cannot be undiscovered or proved to be fake because it has already been accepted, and for believers, any attempt to explain away the creature will not help to disprove it.

Some speculate about genetics testing, escaped aliens or black helicopters collecting chupacabra eggs in the Atacama Desert. Others are simply convinced a species of ugly vampiric dog haunts rural Texas.

The chupacabra did not exist prior to 1995; it has no history to fall back on. It is seldom seen, constantly shifting, and known only by its victims but never surviving to tell it. The likely origins of the chupacabra lie not in the folk traditions of Puerto Rico or in sightings of mangy coyotes, but in Hollywood. On July 7, 1995 — a month before the Tolentino sighting that sent the chupacabra rocketing to stardom — the sci-fi thriller Species was released across the United States and Puerto Rico.

mentada hondureña Sandra, quien desde la Casa del Migrante de la fronteriza Ciudad Juárez aseguró a EFE que regresar a su país no es una opción y que va a esperar en la frontera el mejor momento para cruzar.

“Ya pasamos por mucho desde Honduras como para regresarnos solo porque a Estados Unidos se le ocurrió construir otro muro. Vamos a esperar, a quedarnos aquí y a ver cuándo es el momento de cruzar”, afirmó.

Gerardo, un joven residente de la colonia Anapra que cada día ve brincar la barrera existente en esa zona a una decena de migrantes, dijo que “la gente va seguir cruzando”.

“Cuando pusieron este muro de lámina también dijeron que ya no iban a cruzar, pero siempre hay manera”, comentó a EFE. “Por aquí brincan con cuerdas, suben hasta a los niños y se cruzan para el otro lado. Nada los va a detener”, agregó el joven de 16 años.

El director de la Casa del Migrante, Javier Calvillo, lamentó que el presidente Trump haya firmado este miércoles un decreto para iniciar “la construcción inmediata de un muro físico en la frontera sur” de Estados Unidos, pero aseguró que la peor parte comenzó hace meses.

“Ya había muros desde que Trump comenzó su campaña”, apuntó al aludir a “barreras raciales que han lastimado mucho a los indocumentados”.

La frontera entre Texas y Ciudad Juárez es una de las más utilizadas por los migrantes para ingresar a Estados Unidos.

Tan solo en 2016 fueron detenidos más de 25,000 indocumentados mexicanos y 12,000 centroamericanos en esta zona, de acuerdo con estadísticas de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza de Estados Unidos (CBP, por sus siglas en inglés).

Lo que a la postre generara más de 10 mil empleos, entre directos e indirectos y permanentes y temporales, tanto en la agroindustria como en las tierras tabasqueñas.

Se trata de una inversión industrial de alrededor de $54 millones de dólares para poner en marcha la explotación de 20 mil hectáreas de cana de azúcar.

Que involucrará a productores de caña, industriales, distribuidores

de combustibles y transportistas de la región, entre otros.

MIDTOWN BAIL BONDS ¡QOM!: Today is Tuesday, January 17; I’m here with Mr. Al Rucker, with Bail bonds company, Midtown Bail Bonds Company. How are you Mr. Rucker?

Al Rucker: I’m good.

¡QOM!: Can you please tell me a little bit about your family background?

Al Rucker: Well, I’m the oldest, of six; I have two brothers, three sisters. We’re originally from Frankfurt. My dad was in the service, we travelled, so I lived in Frankfurt, Germany and I lived in Hawaii. When my mother and father separated, we moved to Houston, so I’ve been in Houston ever since I was 12 years old. I have been married with my wife for 26 years. We have two boys, 24 and 20. All of us are involved in the business, which makes it a family-owned business. Currently we have three locations, 2204 Austin is our corporate location, 6602 West Fuqua, is our Missouri City office, and Richmond, Texas. ¡QOM!: Wonderful Mr. Rucker. One question, how did you get involved in the bail bonds business? What was your background before you got involved in the… and how did you get involved?

Al Rucker: Well, in Corporate America I was in finance. I left Corporate America in 2001, and started my own real estate and mortgage company. So we did that from 2001 to 2006, in 2006 I started doing bail bonds on the side.

And, how I got started in bail bonds was, I represented a lot of entertainers. So, those entertainers were always going to jail, so I had to call a friend of mine who was in the bail bonds business at that time, and he was bonding a lot of my entertainer friends out. So one day he said to me “you ever thought about getting into the bail bonds?” so I was like “nah, I never thought about that”, now mind you that I was doing real estate. So I was doing bail bonds on the side, so when the real estate market completely crashed, I dove into bail bonds full time. ¡QOM!: Great, great, great. So, you started with this location? Which one was your first location?

Al Rucker: My first location was in Missouri city, actually, this year makes our tenth year for Midtown. ¡QOM!: Oh wonderful, wonderful.

Al Rucker: Yeah, yeah. Altogether I have been in the bonding business for fourteen years. Prior to Midtown, I was partnered with a guy in FORT BEND for four years ¡QOM!: Great. Mr. Rucker, can you explain to us the process of a regular bond? What happens after the guy, the wife, or the person makes the phone call to your company, what is the next process?

Al Rucker: What we do is, when they call our office, the agent takes the information, looks up the defendant, sees what jail he/she is in, calls the co-signer back or the person that’s called and gives them all the information and a price quote on what it’s going to cost them to do the bond. Once the client comes in, they fill out some paperwork. The paperwork is a general application, basically asking: name, address, phone number, stuff like that just to verify that you know the person that you’re bonding out. Once we go through that process, we require a few pieces of information, proof of residence (to verify you live in our city limits and not out of town) of the employment (if employed), and a form of identification. At that point, we process the bond; get the defendant out, within two to four hours. The time frame could change depending on jail location and county. ¡QOM!: What happens when you bail a person out, and then the guy does not show up to court?

Al Rucker: Well, it becomes a situation where if that happens, and it happens a lot, in the bail bond business you’re going to have what we call bond jumping… ¡QOM!: Bond jumping?

Al Rucker: Yeah, bond jumping, or somebody may just forgot to go to court. So, it’s two things we do, we try to identify which one it is, if it’s a defendant who’s deliberately missing court, or someone who forgot to go to court. If they forgot… ¡QOM!: Like a mistake or something…

Al Rucker: Yeah, if they forgot to go to court, we can normally get that court date rolled over. ¡QOM!: Reset…

Al Rucker: Reset, or rolled over to the next day. If it’s a situation where the defendant is actually jumping bond, or running, then at that point, we contact the co-signer, the co-signer is really our customer, so we call them and we ask them, do you know where “such and such” is or where they have been? If they don’t know then we get our bounty hunters involved. ¡QOM!: Bounty hunters? Oh, okay… so they go hunting the guy?

Al Rucker: Yeah, they start looking for the missing defendant, find them, the defendant is then apprehended and taken back to jail.

Interviewer Are you very flexible with payment plans for the customers? Say the bond is $50,000, so it’s, normally, what, 10%?

Al Rucker: Yeah, normally 10%. ¡QOM!: So, What if the guy only has $2,000?

Al Rucker: We will definitely work with him. ¡QOM!: You work with him on a payment plan? Are you flexible with that?

Al Rucker: Yeah, we’re very flexible with that, because we know at the time, you know, most people are not going to have an extra $5,000 or $2,000, or even $1,000 sitting on the side, so what we do is, ask them we tailor their payment plan based on their payment schedule whether they get paid from their job or government assistance. So if they get paid once a month, we put the payment plan designed for that, if they get paid twice a month, we design a payment for that. Normally, if the bond is $50,000 like you say, we will ask for a certain percentage of that now. ¡QOM!: Okay, wonderful. Do you have bilingual staff?

Al Rucker: Yes, yes. I have a full office that’s completely bilingual, just our Richmond location, and each location that I have has a bilingual speaking person. ¡QOM!: Wonderful, wonderful. Mr. Rucker, one of the questions that we like to ask is: What makes you different from other bail bonds? If someone gets in trouble, why should they call Midtown Bail Bonds? What’s the reason?

Al Rucker: I think the main reason why we recommend people call us is because, for one, we have between myself and my whole staff, roughly about 40-50 years worth of experience.

Number two, we understand the emergency or the situation that’s going on, so we know how to calm the customer down, give them great customer service, be very, very clear on what’s going on, we walk them from point A to point B. On a lot of bonding companies, you come in, they take your money, bond the person out, and they really don’t follow up with you and make sure the thing is being taken care of. So we always act as if we’re like your attorney, you know, as much as your attorney is involved in your case, we are involved in your case, and we keep step by step on what’s going on. ¡QOM!: Wonderful, wonderful. That was my

next question, attorney. Do you, when a client comes in with a minor problem or major problem, do you also do recommendations to get an attorney, or do you also recommend what you should do, you should go see this guy, he’s good? Or you let them, just, hey, find your own attorney?

Al Rucker: Well, by law, we can’t recommend an attorney, but we do have clients come in, and they may have an attorney, and they may ask us questions about the attorney… ¡QOM!: If you know an attorney…

Al Rucker: By law we can’t recommend an attorney, but at the same time, you know, someone comes in with their attorney, or we may tell them “hey, look, based on this case, you may wanna go in and find you an attorney” or something like that, but we can’t specifically name, “go talk to this particular guy”, based on laws they set up for the bail bonds, we can’t do it. ¡QOM!: One more question Mr. Rucker, What would you recommend the Hispanic community about crime?

Al Rucker What would I recommend? ¡QOM!: What would you recommend not to do, or well, of course, not to do, but What are your recommendations to people staying out of trouble?

Al Rucker: Yeah, well, we definitely want people, you know, we are in the bond business, how we make our living is based on bonds, but it’s not the fact that we want people to

go out and commit crimes we know because it’s a need, so it’s one of those situations, you know it’s like car insurance, you need it, but you don’t wanna use it. Same thing, we recommend, from everybody, you know, try not to do anything that’s criminal. The way the system is set up, we believe, once you’re in the system, it’s basically one foot in, one foot out, and then, unfortunately a lot of minorities in the city, they get caught in the system, and it can be very expensive, it’s a very expensive situation, from, defending yourself, getting a bond, it takes a toll on your financials, it takes a toll on your family, and at the same time, you know, if you lose a case, you could be taken away from your family, and most important to us is making sure that family stays together. ¡QOM!: Wonderful, one more. I’m sorry but, one more question that I have. On persons from another country, they get bonded because they were drinking or they got in a fight into a club, or domestic violence, anything like that, can you help someone without papers?

Al Rucker: Yes, a big percentage of our bonds in certain locations, especially our Richmond locations, are defendants that are over here that may not have their papers at that time, so we do immigration bonds, we do work with immigration attorneys to help get that defendant out, so we definitely can work on any of those matters. We’ve done bonds for people from all over the place, we’ve done bonds from, our people that are Hispanic, Mexican residence, and we have people that have African residence, so we are able to do immigration bonds from anywhere around the world. ¡QOM!: Well Mr. Rucker thank you so much for your time, I appreciate it, thank you so much.

HOUSTON FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS NEW CHIEF ~ SAMUEL PEÑA By: Roxana Heredia

Roxana: What motivated you to pursue a career in protecting citizens from fire?

Chief HFD: The way I started was, after I got out of the Air Force, I was 25 years old. I went back to El Paso, which is where my parents and my wife’s family were. I was looking for work, and I was looking at all the law enforcement agencies. I have a degree in Criminal Justice, so I thought I wanted to be a police officer at one point. I applied to the fire department as well, and the department was the first one to call. At that point, I had a family, a wife and two kids, and I needed to get a full-time job.

I joined the fire department the moment they called, and, you know, I spent 22 years with the El Paso Fire Department. I rose through the ranks and was appointed fire chief and served as a fire chief for almost 4 years, and then, we find ourselves here.

Roxana: How has your recent time been in your month acting as Houston’s Fire Department Chief?

Chief HFD: It’s been very eye-opening, but it’s been very rewarding. I’ve gone and had the pleasure of visiting several of the members of the station. I met with the command staff, the mayor’s executive team, and the department heads. They’ve all been very accommodating and very welcoming and helpful, which is a positive thing. We’ve had honest dialogue with firefighters as far as what the expectations are, and what they see as gaps in our department. We’re going to work towards closing those gaps.

Roxana: Has your experience in the Air Force helped you as a member and leader of our fire department?

Chief HFD: I think the military service in general is a good thing that I would recommend for all of us as citizens, from my perspective. It’s a very honorable service and job that we need to do to give back to this country that has really embraced us all.

You do learn leadership skills in the military, and you do learn about teamwork and working towards a common goal. You learn some of those perspectives. I think it’s up to you to develop them and to use that information for the benefit of the group.

Roxana: You have a strong background here in Texas, graduating from UT El Paso and working at the fire department there for many years. What has made you stay in Texas all these years?

Chief HFD: There’s no other place like Texas, right?

I was actually born in California and my parents moved when I was about 5 years old to El Paso, Texas, which borders Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. My grandmother used to live in Juarez, so we stayed across the border in El Paso. Texas has been where I’ve been pretty much my entire life. I enlisted in the Air Force in Texas; I went to basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Texas is home.

Roxana: What issues are you currently facing in 2017?

Chief HFD: The issues that we are going to be dealing with, long-term, will be issues with the fleet replacement, vehicles and maintenance. Certainly staffing, making sure we are able to provide the level of service that the community has come to expect from the Fire Department, but trying to do it in an efficient way.

Because I’m responsible to ensure that we are being responsible with the taxpayers’ money. The Houston Fire Department is the 2nd largest draw on the general fund, right behind the Police Department. Public safety is always a big investment in any municipality. As chief executives, we have to be cognizant of the fact

that there are other services that require those limited funds, so we have to work to find efficiencies to ensure that the city has resources overall to be able to meet the needs of the community.

Roxana: Houston is a very diverse city, with English and Spanish speakers. How can you help break language barriers with citizens who need help from the fire department and have to communicate their request for help?

Chief HFD: Again we have to be cognizant of who we are serving.

We do have a large Hispanic presence in Houston, which is good.

We bring our own flavor, right? to any community. So, how we communicate with them and the avenues that we use are important. Our public information office has to be able to meet the needs of the community, and communicating in the right language is one of them. Getting in tune with how the Hispanic community is doing. What do they use primarily to communicate? Is it TV? Is it social media? Is it print? That’s on us to be able to find out that we are reaching our audience, and then following up to see if we are reaching the mark. When we are making calls on our citizens that ask for help, are we doing the right thing and getting feedback from them and ensuring that we are doing what we can up here to be able to send our message out to them?

Roxana: Do you use surveys for the community?

Chief HFD: Surveys is something that we need to bolster. In general, we should be doing that more often to get feedback. When we go out to meet with the community, we should be open to feedback. If there is a gap in how we are delivering our service, then we need to know that and then take action to make those corrections?

Roxana: How will the fire department improve under your leadership?

Chief HFD: Professional development is something that I’m going to be focused on. We have to, as fire chiefs and executives, ensure that there are people coming up prepared to take these positions.

We do that through opportunity and through experience and education. That’s really on us, to be able to provide that environment and set certain benchmarks as far as what we need as people move up. It’s important to have a diversity of experience in the department. Give our firefighters and officers the opportunity to see how the entire department works, not just the area they are working in.

What I want our department to do is be more involved with the community than they already are, to go beyond just the involvement when someone just calls for help.

We want to be out there trying to impact the prevention side of our call volume, whether it’s prevention of fire or prevention for medical aspects, which is a large portion of our call volume. We respond to about 330,000 calls in a year, and 75-80% of those calls are medical related. In there, we have some incidents such as vehicle accidents, which still require fire apparatus and response. But they have some patients, so we classify them as medical. If we don’t do anything to address the prevention side by opening up our fire station to the community to do immunizations or wellness checks. Those types of things that could work towards making a more healthy community, which in the long run, they may lower our demand and call volume, so we really need to focus as an industry in being able to deploy our resources and use them a little bit differently.

Roxana: Any message you would like to give to the Hispanic community and the readers of Que Onda Magazine?

Chief HFD: The message that I want to give is to stay involved and stay focused on what you want to do. Prepare yourself to be able to take on opportunities when they present themselves, like community involvement, education, whatever the case may be.

That’s what I would recommend, certainly to the young Hispanic community, is to stay focused and to understand that actions now may have positive or negative consequences. Take every opportunity to get educated and to stay involved and to be prepared to jump and seize an opportunity that may present itself.

PRACTICANDO UN NUEVO HÁBITO

Una de las razones por las que tantos se desmotivan es porque las resoluciones de año nuevo se basan en algún tipo de obligación o restricción. Por ejemplo: “No puedo comer chocolates”, “tengo que hacer ejercicio”. Éstas declaraciones te limitan o te imponen una acción.

La reacción natural del ser humano es resistir cualquier actividad que nos sea impuesta, aún cuando seamos nosotros quienes lo ordenamos.

No obstante, la principal razón por la cual no cumplimos nuestros propósitos, no es porque nos disgusta sentirnos obligados, o la falta de “fuerza de voluntad”, ¡la raíz del problema es que carecemos de amor propio!

Independientemente de cuál sea tu resolución, si no te quieres lo suficiente, inconscientemente tomarás decisiones que no te ayudarán a conseguir lo que deseas. Por eso, la única meta que debes trazarte para el 2017 es !amarte más!.

La clave para alcanzar lo que te propongas en esta vida -ya sea aprender un nuevo idioma, comenzar un plan de ahorros o perder peso -consiste en quererte más, esto significa que vas a darte el mismo amor que le das a otros.

El look de JLo fue dirigido por sus asesores Rob Zangardi y Mariel Haenn; ellos eligieron un glamuroso vestido de Reem Acra, en color negro con el frente abierto y adornado en cristales con motivos florales. Este vestido era una combinación perfecta en elegancia, caída y clásica sensualidad. Pero no fue solamente esta espectacular alfombra roja lo que causó controversia.

El diseñador Ly Qui Khanh de origen vietnamita, señalo a través de redes sociales el gran parecido de la prenda que uso Jennifer López con un diseño que el había lanzado cinco meses antes. El parecido de la prenda es innegable, con la diferencia de mangas mas abombadas, un corte mas pronunciado al final de la falda y el color que en la versión del diseñador era un blanco absoluto.

n sujeto que manifestó sus dotes de pintor, se atribuye la autoría en una red social, de haber dibujado un signo de interrogación al costado del nombre de la famosa cantante.

La atrocidad cometida contra el lucero que se le otorgo en Agosto del 2015 a la cantante Mariah Carey, fue objeto de burla, mala intención y violación al pintarle al costado de su nombre un signo de interrogación.

Las autoridades de los Ángeles indaga sobre este asombro hecho para dar con el paradero del facineroso, informó a la cadena E! La persona de una forma macabra quiso dar a entender con este simbolismo, que la capacidad y calidad artística de Mariah es cuestionable. También dijo que

ha sido reparada la estrella que se encuentra en el Paseo de la Fama en Hollywood.

Al finalizar el año 2016, la famosa artista en un evento que fue realizado en el sitio más animado de Nueva York el Times Square, no pudo interpretar sus majestuosas tonadas debido a que la pantalla donde se lee las letras de las canciones no funcionaba, dejando a los espectadores, fans y los televidentes con una gran decepción, desilusión y sintiéndose burlados por Carey.

Por tal motivo Producciones Dick Clark; una empresa que fue fundada en 1957 y que se dedica a la actividad destinada a la fabricación, elaboración u obtención de entretenimiento; ha sido acusada por Mariah Carey

y todo el personal que labora con ella de ser los responsables de tal desastre, expreso la misma artista. Y continuó diciendo, que desde el inicio de las averiguaciones que se llevaron a cabo, se excluyó como causa del lamentable hecho que fuese por fallas técnicas.

En fin lo importante es que la molestia y malestar que generó este incidente entre toda la población que quería disfrutar del espectáculo, solo una persona se atrevió exponer su descontento y se lo hizo pagar muy caro, violando su estrella en el Paseo de la Fama en Hollywood, dando a entender que como cantante y artista no es buena.

Las compañías modernas que son flotantes tendrán por primera vez un lugar donde le prestarán ayuda y respaldo con la creación de un nuevo proyecto de la red social Facebook llamado Startup Garage, este plan se ubicará en Station F, donde se confía que se convierta próximamente en la maniobra global más ambiciosa y enorme de startup.

En una rueda de prensa en París, Sheryl Sandberg expuso que la intención de esta propuesta es conceder a las empresas elegidas en favorecerlas de apoyo personal y educarlas en áreas como comercialización en todos sus aspectos, sustentabilidad económica, planes para la creación de mercancía, perfeccionamiento especializado y técnico de los recursos y todo aquello que tenga que ver con el mejoramiento de la compañía.

Así pues el programa se consagrará a aquellas agrupaciones comerciales flotantes que

a NBA anunció que el guardia de Houston Rockets, James Harden, fue elegido como titular de la Conferencia Oeste en el Juego de Estrellas de la NBA 2017, que tendrá lugar en Nueva Orleans el domingo 19 de febrero a las 7 pm CT. Es la primera vez que Harden ha sido votado como titular. Él substituyó Kobe Bryant como arrancador en 2014 y 2015.

Por primera vez, los jugadores de la NBA y los medios de baloncesto se unieron a los aficionados en la selección de titulares para el Juego de las Estrellas. Los aficionados representaron el 50 por ciento de los votos, mientras que todos los jugadores actuales y un panel de medios de baloncesto representaron el 25 por ciento cada uno. Harden terminó segundo entre los guardias de la Conferencia Occidental al votar por los aficionados (1.771.375), los medios de comunicación y los jugadores.

DERROTA MARCA INICIO DE RECONSTRUCCIÓN DE CUADRO OFENSIVO

a temporada de los Houston Texans ha llegado a su fin. La derrota de 34-16 en contra de los New England Patriots sirve para recalcar que los Texans, a pesar de contar con un cuadro defensivo de calibre de campeonato, tiene que mejorar de manera importante el rendimiento de su cuadro ofensivo.

El cuadro defensivo de Romeo Crennel jugó un gran partido por más de tres cuartos hasta que simplemente fue traicionado por sus mismos compañeros. Los errores del equipo simplemente se desbordaron para sumar un resultado final que miente en lo que fue un gran esfuerzo de Jadeveon Clowney, Whitney Mercilus y compañia. Primero en equipos especiales permitieron una devolución de patada de kickoff para TD de 98 yardas. Luego, las primeras dos intercepciones del partido lanzadas por Brock Osweiler le permitieron a los Patriotas mantenerse al frente. Claro que

como siempre, no se trata de sólo los errores de Brock. El ala cerrada CJ Fiedorowicz soltó lo que hubiera sido un pase de TD que hubiera empatado el partido a siete en el primer cuarto y Houston sólo cobró un FG. Tarde en el tercer periodo en tercer down y ocho desde la 45 de los Patriots el novato Will Fuller soltó un pase preciso de Osweiler en la zona de anotación. Houston se hubiera acercado a 23-24 con todo el cuarto periodo por jugar. Al convertir una intercepción de Andre Hal un par de series más tarde los Texans iniciaron el cuarto periodo con gol de campo para colocar el marcador 24-16. Sería lo más cerca que los Texans se encontrarían.

Después del partido Bill O’Brien comentó acerca de que él tiene que hacer mejor trabajo como entrenador y reconoció la grandeza de los Patriots. Pero lo más obvio de todo es que la posición de mariscal de campo tiene que ser mucho más con-

sistente y menos limitada. En varias oportunidades a lo largo de la temporada la posición de QB dejó jugadas en la cancha. En el segundo cuarto y con 4:11 por jugar contra los Patriots, los Texans tenían el balón en tercer down y tres desde su propia yarda 11.

Brock tenía por el lado izquierdo a Hopkins corriendo trayectoria de escuadra hacía afuera para lograr el primer y diez pero descartó la trayectoria temprano en la jugada al no reconocer que el safety estaba fuera de posición para cubrir dicha trayectoria. El esquinero se había quedado corto para cubrir el costado y también estaba fuera de posición para cubrir a Hopkins. De hecho era la cobertura perfecta para lanzar ese pase y lograr el primer y diez. Del otro lado de la cancha Fuller, con marca personal y sin un safety en el centro de la cancha estaba completamente abierto en la trayectoria de poste. Un pase preciso, si es que lo atrapa Fuller, le daría oportunidad de mínimo llegar a la media cancha si no anotar. Brock al no reconocer la cobertura y posición de los safeties no trató de aprovechar para lo que hubiera sido posiblemente la ventaja de los Texans de 2014. Con estas dos opciones en la misma jugada, Brock, a pesar de contar con una bolsa de protección limpia y sin presión, lanzó un pase corto que buscaba al ala cerrada novato Stephen Anderson en el centro de la cancha. Por suerte el LB Rob Ninkovich no pudo asegurar la intercepción. La jugada terminó en pase incompleto pero este tipo de situaciones han aquejado a Brock a lo largo de la temporada. Jugadas perdidas en el terreno de juego por simple incapacidad de anticipar coberturas y aprovechar lo que la defensa te estaba permitiendo.

Lo más lógico en todo es de reconocer que salvo que cuentes

con un mariscal de campo que se llama Tom Brady, el esquema ofensivo que cambia y se trata de adaptar semana a semana al rival, tiene que cambiar. Ningún QB en el plantel de los Texans tiene la capacidad y experiencia para lo que requiere este paquete ofensivo. Bajo la dirección de Brady es algo completamente distinto y este fin de semana lo hizo sin Rob Gronkowski y con Deion Lewis, un corredor que en la temporada no había anotado ni un sólo TD por tierra o en recepción. Pero en contra de los Texans Brady y el esquema encontraron la manera de convertirlo en la gran figura al agregar de pilón, un tercer TD en equipos especiales.

Este esquema no es el mejor para lo que tienen a su disposición los Texans. Después de tres temporadas con un cuadro ofensivo que consistentemente ha bajado en su rendimiento, esto queda clarísimo. O’Brien tiene que ser más flexible en lo que es su idea para este cuadro ofensivo.
