From the President
Another month passes and another productive one for the club, with our Annual General Meeting being held and seeing some ‘changing of the guard’ happening on the committee.
Thank you to the Committee that stood down: Alistair Hamblin, Peter Kleindienst, Kelvin Pettigrove. We thank them for their enormous contributions to both the committee and the club.
We introduce the 2023/2024 elected Committee
Brad Teal – President
Peter McSween – Vice President
David Jessup – Treasurer
Bob Merriman – Constitution
Andrew Batson – Captain
John Rimmer - Facilities
The new tar sealed entry road to the club house was completed on Monday, another small tick towards improving our Clubs image and facilities. Also the minor and repairs that have taken place in the men’s bathroom – thank you to Matt Lewis for the new paint!
The Course staff have been busy on the Pro Core. They are coring (aerating) the compacted sections of fairways to promote growth coming into spring.
Block out 15th September in your diary and get ready for a good old fashioned working bee at the club – more information later in the newsletter.
As always we ask each member to do their part in keeping our course looking its best by repairing divots and raking bunkers.
Happy Golfing!
Brad Teal OAM President.

COURSE UPDATE
Course presentation continues to be at a high standard with some lovely Winter days falling on Comp days and good field numbers taking full advantage of the course and conditions.
A new first year apprentice has been appointed. Ryan has been with us for 2 weeks now and is showing much potential and enthusiasm for the job, we can’t wait to see him grow and evolve into first class greenkeeper.
Tim Smith is still struggling with his health issues; we are in contact with Tim regularly and hope to see him back at the Club going forward.
Course spraying has commenced, having struggled with clover and to a lesser extent flat weed for a number of years, we are working hard to be on top of these frustrating issues which impact on our course presentation over the next few months.
We are hopeful to have a replacement spray unit in the coming months as currently we are working with an aging spray equipment.
Bunker renovations will continue over the next couples of months along with path upgrades. Scarification of selected fairways will take place in September along with aeration in high wear areas already conducted as we work to manage more golfers on the course.

Members needed!
‘Tis time to don the overalls and gumboots & get out on the course for a good old fashioned working bee.
Tasks will be things like filling divots, weeding garden beds, and tidying up around the clubhouse. Nothing too labour intensive or that will need machines or heavy lifting.
We will be starting at 8.30am
Morning tea in the clubhouse around 10.30am (yummy home made cakes!)
Head back out and work for a bit longer then join up again about 1.30pm for a ‘fish n chip’ lunch and a drink – our shout!
If you are interested, please put your name down on the list at the bar, or let Nicci know.
