Since joining QCD in 2022, Bryttanneye has volunteered alongside her Frisco teammates at various events and programs. This includes several visits to the Ronald McDonald House, preparing back packs and creating cards for the children of Children’s Health. Shortly after joining QCD and learning about the mission of the Foundation, she began volunteering because she wanted to be involved and hands on with the community Being a volunteer since a young age, and previously reaching out for resources to provide for her own household, Bryttanneye shared that it makes her heart happy to know she is helping a persons life in a positive way “The GSF Foundation definitely makes an impact on families and associates Its only right to give back,” said Bryttanneye One of her favorite memories while volunteering is having the opportunity to tour the Ronald McDonald House, learning how the staff cater to the residents, making the house feel like a home as much as possible She shared, “While visiting and serving lunch, the smiles on the children and parents faces is a reminder that no matter how challenging life may be, keep pushing forward. A smile and a warm meal can make someones day.”

On August 8, wildfires swept across the Hawaiian island of Maui, making it one of America’s worst disasters.

“This was the most devastating catastrophe in my time on the islands,” said Carl Guhl, the Regional Distribution Manager based at QCD’s facility in Waipahu on the island of Oahu.

With QCD associates and their extended families, as well as customers and their stores located throughout the Hawaiian Islands, the Waipahu team has stepped up to proactively support the wildfire victims.

Supporting Maui Food Bank, the GSFF Waipahu Committee made a grant as first responders reacted quickly to the wildfire crisis. Additionally, the Waipahu team purchased shelf-stable food and pallets of water with GSFF local funds contributed by Hawaii associates and from donated funds raised from GSF associates beyond the islands, including a $3,000 grant from our Frisco Foundation Chapter.

The much-needed support from QCD and GSFF goes a long way in making a difference for the Maui wildfire victims. As relief and recovery efforts continue, ongoing contributions may be made online at GSFFoundation.org/support-us with “Maui Support” noted in the comments section of the form.
