Your daughter’s passport to competitions, coding, and careers
Introducing
Drones are more than just cutting-edge technology – they are transforming industries worldwide, from agriculture and logistics to emergency response, film-making, and defence.
Our new drone program will offer hands-on experience of:
Students will learn to program drones using Python and block-based coding, developing problem-solving, automation, and AI skills.
AERODYNAMICS AND PHYSICS
Understanding how drones fly, including lift, thrust, drag, and stability.
Safe piloting techniques, navigation, and mission planning.
Exploring how drones are used in careers such as robotics, photography, surveying, and search-and-rescue operations.
Pymble Drone Academy students will gain industry-relevant skills that connect to career pathways in STEM, aviation, film production, environmental science, and AI development.
Pymble will be the first school in Australia to compete in national and international drone competitions. Our program aims to prepare students to successfully compete in national and international drone competitions, such as:
• REC Foundation Aerial Drone Competition
• AI Code Drone Youth Tournament
With the right investment in drones, coding platforms, and flight safety protocols, this program can take off in Term 3, 2025, engaging students in Years 4 to 12 in an exhilarating learning journey.
Pymble has a track record of excellence in STEM, Robotics, and Digital Technology, and this initiative aligns with our mission to inspire and empower young women in high-tech industries. The Pymble Drone Academy will position our students at the forefront of emerging technologies, preparing them to lead the future of innovation.
Drone competition pathways will provide students with important growth experiences, and opportunities to enhance their dossier of achievements used to access university scholarships and industry placements beyond school.
