Nothing is Lost

Idea

The swift change of ups and downs creates a rippling and flowy rythm. Comforting and dreamy themes were conveyed through the space and slow pacing of the music.

The contrast of speed in the melody enhances the differences of the emotions in the music, slower music creates s sentimental feel while faster notes create a more dramatic mood.

The use of repetition occurs at the climax of the music piece, achieved through a change in volume with a rapid increase.

The gentle curves of the Tarang Pavilion create a hopeful and comforting atmosphere.

The open space of the Trylletromler allows audience to experience being both indoor and outdoor. Without solid roofings or walls, the audience are encouraged to feel free and interact more with the architecture without any restriction or barrier.

Breiner 310 Residencial Building shows a nice contrast through the differences of colours and texture in the use of materials to emphasise the focal point of the room.

The repetitive use of geometric shapes in the Garden of Communities Pavilion creates a fair harmony in the structure of the architecture.

Evaluate

The curves of the pavilion reflects the flow presented in the music, creating a comforting sense and warmth. The open design of the pavilion represents a feeling of hope and creates a dreamy atmosphere shown in the music notes and the spacing in the music piece.

The contrast of the texture of the building materials and the difference of the fast and slow pace of the music sheet, reflects a sense of conflict but also unity and harmony.

Repetition shown in both the repetiting shape of the pavilion panels and the repetiting music notes, creates a sense of importance and enhancement in the focal point in the atmosphere.

Design

Elavated floor, layered roof and corridor create a division for the room, creating contrast with the overall with the different of the sections. Round and curvy lines create a soft aesthetic which carries a comforted and dreamy atmosphere.

Through design generation, timber claddings on wall, floor and window shapes are ideal for the represention of repetition when placed in the centre of the room as they create a big impact and drawn in attention, similiar to the effect of the climax of the music. Repetition could blend with the characteristic of rhythm through layout and arrangement.

As a result from the generation of designs, rhythm is best shown in a wavy, flowy or cuvy lines and shapes, as they effectively depict the up and down flows of the music.

Develop

A rhythmic look was created for a room for one, inspird by the thematic music piece by the The Weeknd, ‘Nothing is lost’.

Through the use of wooden wall panels, arranged in a contracting way, reflects a strong begining of the song, and a gradual scatters which portrays a shift of the flowy upbeat rhythm. A repeated row of the wooden panels are also placed, to resembles the repetiting tune occur towards the end of the music. The two arches in the corridor, seperates the room which emphasises the contrast shown in the different paces of the music. Large window and skylights are added to create a soft and comforted environment, that create a focal point in the main part of the room, in which depict the climax of the music. These architectural feautres work together to convey memorable elements of the music piece, to communicate with the audiences through its characteristics.
