How can we support you?

01 Emotional Support 24/7/365

Discuss anything troubling you, whether personal difficulties – for example, relationships, family matters, or work-related issues such as work-load, or bullying or harassment.

02 Practical Advice (Mon - Fri)

Find practical ways forward when you feel overwhelmed. Sometimes, having the information to make a sensible plan, and some support in doing so, is all it takes to feel better.

03 Mental health and wellbeing app

Discover clinically certified interactive tools and techniques using cognitive behavioral therapy, customised for digital use to help manage your day-to-day wellbeing.

04 Short Term Structured Support

Access short term, solution focused support to help address mild to moderate symptoms and work towards achievable goals.

What to Expect When You Call Care first

You can call Care first 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It’s confidential and free. Here’s what you can expect:

01 If you require emotional support, select 1 and you’ll be put through to speak with a professionally qualified counsellor who will support you in the moment. Alternatively, select 2 if you require practical advice.

02 Our team will ask for the organisation that you’re calling from to establish which service your company offers. We will also ask for your name but this will not be passed back to your organisation.

03 A counsellor will evaluate your situation to determine the most suitable type of support for you. A simple conversation may be all that’s needed, or you may benefit from additional telephone support. You might qualify for our short-term structured support, which can be assessed during a follow-up call.

04 No matter the outcome, you can always call our helpline to receive in-the-moment support for further emotional support or practical advice. Our team may recommend and signpost you to other pathways that are more appropriate if necessary.

Accessing Short Term Structured Support

It may be the case that you are suitable for short-term structured support, in which case you can access structured counselling support sessions (check with your HR team to confirm eligibility).

We provide solution-focused brief therapy, a short-term model that focuses on setting goals and working out how to achieve them. Instead of focusing on what you cannot do, it promotes positive change by focusing on what you can.

Step by step guide

01 A counsellor will conduct a 40-minute clinical assessment to determine if you are appropriate on the telephone. This will take place after your first call to our helpline.

02 If eligible, our clinical team will manage the referral process and ask you to list your preferences. I.e. face to face, virtual, or telephone counselling.

03 You will be assigned an associate counsellor who will deliver the sessions weekly and support you in working towards your achievable goals.
