ENJOY RESPECT ACHIEVE SCHOOL PROSPECTUS
PART OF THE BOHUNT EDUCATION TRUST
Thank you for your interest in our school. Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make. Bohunt Wokingham is a dynamic learning community whose ethos is encapsulated by three simple words:
Enjoy, Respect, Achieve.
Bohunt School Wokingham first opened its doors to Year 7 in 2016. Since then, the school has used its powerful founding ethos to create a vibrant, diverse and inclusive 11-16 school community of 1,200 students.
We are unapologetically aspirational for the students at Bohunt Wokingham. Students have access to a personalised curriculum offer that challenges each individual to achieve their potential. We have an innovative staff body who make use of iPads to engage students with their learning and to swiftly assess their strengths as well as areas for development. We blend indoor learning with the outdoors, using our unique outdoor classrooms as an integrated part of the curriculum and supporting students with their physical and mental health. Expectations are high for all students, we value our community and our learning, and so we expect students to be the very best versions of themselves everyday.
The school is in a purpose-built, modern building which offers first class facilities to the students it serves and has a designated space for a future sixth form, allowing the school to see your child through to their Higher Education.
Students at our school have access to unrivalled enrichment opportunities both locally and internationally. This ranges from the challenge of The Duke of Edinburgh award, participating in sporting competitions or trying new activities during our game-changers week. We want our students to see what is possible when they go beyond their comfort zone.
We also recognise that students may need support outside of their academic studies and our fantastic pastoral and inclusion team will be there when they need them. Developing the skills young people need to maintain a positive well-being now, and in the future, is an essential part of our curriculum, ensuring all students feel valued and heard.
In short, we want your child to leave our school being confident, resilient and ambitious for their future. We want them to be a game-changer.

“Pupils love coming to school.”
At Bohunt Wokingham learning takes place in a stimulating, vibrant environment and within a framework of high expectation. We promote characteristics that make lifelong learners such as curiosity, hard work, critical thinking and a thirst for knowledge.
Our challenge-based learning uses the latest technology, builds motivation and encourages our students to become independent learners equipped with the skills and resilience to succeed in the future.
With an emphasis on STEM, outdoor learning and extensive enrichment, students can participate in activities from across the curriculum. Students will be encouraged to take an active role in their learning and in the culture of the school: they will participate in staff appointments, lead charity events and fundraising, attend Governors’ Meetings and consult with Departments on approaches to learning.
Our innovative approach enables our students to broaden their horizons, develop their interests and engenders a passion for learning.
“An exceptionally wide range of extra-curricular activities and trips... that are designed to develop character and confidence.”

“The behaviour of students is outstanding.”
We promote a strong sense of self-worth combined with a respect for others. Consistently high expectations are embedded within an environment that is founded on mutually respectful relationships between students, staff and parents/carers. We champion characteristics that ensure our learners make the world a better place such as empathy, tolerance and kindness.
After joining Bohunt Wokingham, students are placed into Houses, each of which has two tutor groups in each year. The Houses are effectively small schools within the school, which enable students to support each other and assume leadership under the guidance of tutors, Achievement Coordinators and Senior Leaders. The House system ensures that our young people are nurtured during the transition from their Primary Schools and throughout their journey with us.
Our learners’ sense of ownership and belonging is fostered by encouraging them to perform in school assemblies, help maintain the school environment, support local charities and represent the school in local, national and international contexts.
We have very high expectations for students’ attitudes and behaviour and expect all members of the community to support the school’s commitment to maintaining these standards.
“I love being part of the student leadership team and getting to make a difference to school life”

At Bohunt Wokingham we aim to prepare our students to be the game-changers of the future. We are proud to promote a culture of high aspirations and attainment where expectations and standards are consistent.
No matter your child’s strengths, we intend for them to attain the highest grade possible to enable the most positive next steps beyond their time with us.
We offer an incredibly ambitious curriculum, that encompasses a full suite of academic qualifications. We are confident the curriculum offers something for everyone, enabling all children to fully succeed with us.
Our integrated use of 1-2-1 iPads is a powerful tool to accomplish high academic aims, whilst benefiting learners with their day-to-day knowledge acquisition.
Highly qualified and skilled staff will offer exceptional experiences outside of the curriculum and beyond the school gates. Students will be challenged to work things out for themselves, take risks and experience new ideas, emotions and activities. We empower our students to be the best that they can be. We support them to build characteristics such as resilience, confidence, courage and leadership. Achievement for us is more than just academic attainment, we value personal growth and experience just as a highly.
“Pupils flourish in this school.”
