Brother Dashawn Michaux's Promotion to Master Sergeant

On November 11, 2022, the Brothers of the Norfolk Alumni Chapter were in attendance for the Black Diamond Affair Gala for Black Diamond Weekend hosted by Black BRAND Black BRAND is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for Business Research Analytics, Networking, and Development As the Regional Black Chamber of Commerce for the Hampton Roads and Dan River Regions, the mission is to promote group economics through professional development and community empowerment

The Brothers accompanied Norfolk Guide Right Chair Brother Dr Juan Alexander to the gala to accept the Community Impact Award that the Norfolk Chapter of Kappa League won. Upon receiving the award from Black BRAND cofounder Blair Durham, a video of Dr. Alexander was played explaining the concept of the Guide Right program and how our Fraternity prioritizes the initiative to build and educate our future young leaders in our community and how they can make an impact

2022 Initiate Brother Dashawn Michaux In reflection of our Fraternity’s fundamental purpose of “Achievement” in every field of human endeavor, Brother Michaux earned and attained promotion to the second highest enlisted pay grade within the entire Department of Defense - Master Sergeant As an Active-Duty Army Service Member, Brother Michaux is a decorated Combat Veteran and has engaged in Joint Operations with Allied Nations during his career FLAC members attending the promotion ceremony were Brothers Michael Cooper, Brother Rolandus Branch (FLAC Polemarch), Brother Terrance Knight, Brother Alvin Gardner, and Brother Armand Perry. The reception following the promotion ceremony was a celebration of “Achievement” for our newly promoted Master Sergeant as he continues to represent the excellence of our Alumni Chapter, our Eastern Province, and the Greatest Fraternity on Earth, our Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated
