Keenon James has been appointed by the Prince George’s County (MD) Council to serve on the county’s new Police Accountability Board (PAB) Established by a 2022 state law, the
PAB will meet with local law enforcement agency leaders, hold community meetings on police interactions, receive complaints of police misconduct, identify trends in policing practices, and recommend policy changes to improve community-police relations in the county
“My goal is to represent you, the community, in a manner that focuses on improving the quality of life and police services for everyone. The PAB’s goal is transparency, our results are accountability, and our success is shared with the community. I look forward to serving on the Police Accountability Board and effecting real change for our community”, said James A gun violence prevention advocate, Keenon James leverages nearly two decades of criminal justice and policing reform experience to the PAB He led President Barack Obama’s Policing Practices and Accountability Initiative at the US Department of Justice During his tenure as deputy director for the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), Brother James was instrumental in the collaboration between NOBLE and Kappa Alpha Psi to implement the fraternity’s national youth police education program, Learn 2 Live
