We received a staggering 62 nominations for colleagues in PIA and were delighted to present 2 individual and 1 team award s

With 7 nominations, the panel were delighted to recognise Antonella Cassano’s efforts to complete tasks efficiently and effectively – with positivity and professionalism, Antonella can be relied on to go above and beyond to support the wider team.

In a similar vein, Guiseppe Russo also received 7 nominations in recognition of his efforts to challenge ways of working and actively (and patiently) share his knowledge to support the development of the wider team. Those who nominated Guiseppe were keen to acknowledge the positive impact of his can-do attitude – and the panel were delighted to add their word of thanks!

Simona Auciello, Denise Vollaro, Rosaria Perrone & Francesca Sansossio have taken on the challenge of introducing colleagues at PIA to exciting new regional recipes – more than just about keeping lunchtime interesting, by researching different options and celebrating difference, the team are helping to make PIA an increasingly inclusive place to work. And for that reason, the panel were pleased to be able to recognise their efforts!

PIA

PFBV

We received 18 nominations for colleagues in PFBV and were delighted to present 2 team awards

First to be recognised at PFBV are Angel Singfield and Debbie Ouwerk – in fact the panel received an impressive 14 separate nominations for Angel and Debbie’s efforts to so effectively and efficiently project manage the recent office move in Rotterdam. The move was approached with positive intent;by minimising disruption and keeping everyone fully informed, a new working space to be proud of was created!

In what was a huge cross functional (and cross location) effort Sharon Cloots, Grace Turner, Marcel Van Der Lee, Jaap Johan Schipper, Lia Jennissen, Cesar Molijn, Clive Avins, Kensuka Matsuda, Maria Gonzalez, Casper Bookholt, Hicham Driouich, Ewa Chmiel, Pasqualina Romano and Niamh Cunningham successfully managed to secure new business for Princes – it is a fantastic example of positive and collaborative team work and the panel were delighted to be able to recognise everyone’s role.

PTM

We received 18 nominations for colleagues in PTM and were delighted to present 2 individual and 1 team award

A storm hit Mauritius back in January, threatening the safe storage of over 100 tonnes of fish. Despite already being changed and ready to leave site at the end of a busy shift, Arvind Bhundun, Chinapyel Rengasamy & Veelavdon Pyneandee all choose to stay to secure the storage. This is a brilliant example of one team spirit!

Managing difficult situations is always challenging but Manish Joggesser was able to reasonably and amicably settle dispute with a neighbouring business recently– approaching the situation calmly, Manish showed real professionalism.

You might remember that the Health & Wellbeing Project Team recently challenged colleagues to participate in a walking challenge – well Astrid Derby took on that challenge and has continued to keep on walking! The panel were most impressed to hear about just how much Astrid has enjoyed walking and is feeling the benefits of increased physical activity.

We received 5 nominations for colleagues across our EOL sitesand were delighted to present 2 individual and 1 team award

Being able to recognise colleagues for the support and care they show others is fantastic – and the panel were delighted to be able to reward both Joubert Moundure and Stuart Roberts for the dedication they have shown to making sure that the apprentice programme is a success at EOL. Taking time out of their busy jobs, Joubert and Stuart have patiently spent time with the apprentices, teaching them the ropes and sharing their skills and experience.

Most of us will have been there – receiving an email in error – but it is what Arvind Patel did next that so impressed the panel. Rather than deleting or simply replying with a ‘sorry, not me’ message, Arvind stepped up and showed real professionalism by taking responsibility to ensure the query (a complex payment query) was properly resolved. A great example of excellence and one team spirit!

And then when we suggested colleagues walked more during that week back in March, I don’t think anyone expected anyone to go to the lengths (pun intended!) that Amita Gondaliva did! Winning the challenge in terms of the number of steps walked, Amita recorded a staggering 285,200 steps over those 7 days. What was fantastic to hear was that – inspired by the challenge – Amita is still walking more and feeling great as a result!

EOL

LONG SUTTON & WISBECH

We received 89 nominations and presented 4 individual and 3 team awards

Sometimes resolving an issue just requires dogged determination – and it was with that resolve that David Dayson-Smith approached the challenge of fixing a faulty vacuum filler Impacting on both production time and quality checks, the fault was difficult to diagnose and difficult to fix but David worked through the problem logically with the support of the wider engineering team until a permanent fix was in place.

The successful completion of any project requires the dedication of colleagues – and tasked with replacing all and any obsolete component parts on Stork 4, that is just what Nigel Murray demonstrated. Going above and beyond and working additional hours, Nigel completed the project with minimal disruption. Hearing that he also created a ‘how to guide’ for similar future projects really impressed the panel!

Avoiding accidents at work might seem obvious, but in many cases – and particularly at our busy manufacturing sites – accident avoidance requires the care and attention of our colleagues. And by taking the time to notice and then properly report a potential issue with newly installed racking, that is just what Krystian Sajdak did!

That lines breakdown is perhaps an unavoidable reality on occasion – but it is frustrating and it does impact production schedules. It is fantastic therefore when the panel hear about colleagues taking charge of these situations and working with engineering to quickly establish a feasible work around while a more permanent fix is put in place. And so we were delighted to be able to reward Zoe Rust for doing just that recently – it really is great to hear examples of colleagues going above and beyond because they feel empowered to make decisions and do the right thing.

Faced with dealing with a seriously unwell colleague John Haswell, Simon Darlow and Andy Shortland remained calm and in control – arranging the appropriate emergency response, they handled the situation with care and dignity.

LONG SUTTON & WISBECH

We received 89 nominations and presented 4 individual and 3 team awards

Nigel Kemball and Jurgita Turkin worked hard to successfully trial a new way of building master data in SAP. Understanding and adopting the new methodology was challenging – but the panel were impressed to hear just how positively Nigel and Jurgita approached the project and how positive the results are! With improved data accuracy, the programme is helping to drive tangible efficiencies.

As a panel we love it when we get the chance to recognise and reward big cross team collaboration efforts and so we were delighted to award Adam Saint, Jason Hill, Carl Ward, Thomas Shaw, James Brigden, Terry Sutherland, Ashley Collinson, David Thomas and Darren Howlett with a team Pride in Princes award!

Demonstrating real professionalism and one team spirit, the team worked hard to ensure that a recent system migration programme ran to plan – the threat of an outage didn’t deter them and the project was delivered seamlessly.

Bradford

We received 18 nominations for colleagues at Bradford and were delighted to present a team award a

The importance of site safety can of course not be stressed enough.

As a business we go to great lengths to ensure that the correct processes and controls are put in place, trained out and continuously reviewed but that approach still takes the vigilance and care of colleagues to keep everyone safe – it is why we have the Talk Safe Programme in place.

Rising to the challenge of that Programme, the panel were thrilled to recognise the efforts of both Kenneth Perkins and Zulfgar Mohammed who have not just flagged potential safety issues but have absolutely taken on the responsibility to understand them and fix them!

We received 17 nominations for colleagues at Cardiff and were delighted to present an individual award

Sometimes when the panel are reviewing all the nominations received in a quarter, some stand out as brilliant examples of a good job done well – and that is the case when it came to Joanne Lamberti.

With 4 separate nominations, we read with interest how Jo had planned the recent Pathways Roadshow at Cardiff. Now, Jo might be the on-site trainer but we have no douby that the success of the sessions was down to Jo going very much above and beyond her day job!

Arranging for 118 operational colleagues to attend the Roadshow was no mean feat, but hearing that those colleagues all arrived fully briefed, relaxed and properly set up to get the most from the session was fantastic!

Cardiff

We received 35 nominations for colleagues at RLB and were delighted to present 2 individual and 3 team awards

Supporting the recent launch of Morrison’s Own Label tuna, Mike Cowhig’s efforts have been recognised because he demonstrated keen commercial acumen Going above and beyond what could be considered typical ownership of the necessary forecasting and inventory management processes, Mike’s ability to work collaboratively and openly was much appreciated by the wider team and the panel!

Andy Brown was nominated for his efforts to fully support the launch of People Gateway, the UK HRIS platform. Far beyond just taking a technical lead, Andy took the time (and care) to get fully involved in the wider success of the project We often talk about the importance not just of what people do but how they do it and Andy’s nominations for an award stood out to the panel because that sense of his willingness to roll up his sleeves and help really stood out A positive can-do attitude really goes a long way!

Switching the production of Branston Beans was no mean feat – but it was a challenge taken on (and smashed) by Michel Polignone, Alan Marshall, Nicoletta Suriano and Angharad Pugh recently. As a collaborative cross functional team, they took full ownership of what was a very complex project and approached the challenge positively and collaboratively. A brilliant job done very well!

RLB

We received 35 nominations for colleagues at RLB and were delighted to present 2 individual and 3 team awards

In what was recognised to be a complex and complicated ask, Serena Sorbello, Faye Spellman and Ewa Ibbitt recently compiled a comprehensive soy and palm oil usage data report. Working methodically, they designed and implemented new ways of working and introduced new systems to ensure the accuracy of the data and the ease of data interpretation. Driving efficiencies is only possible with reliable insight – and thanks to the efforts of Serena, Faye and Ewa the wider team are now better able to do that!

Celebrated as the winners of the Team H&W award for most combined steps walked during the challenge week, Ellie Field, Emma Haselhurst, Jordan Studd, Natalie Greenwood, Lucy Johnstone and eps in one week! And while they might have won e really most pleased to see that they got involved as a
