SUMMARY PROGRESS

Status Comments

2030 On track 10.5% reduction

Since 2018/19 we have reduced carbon emissions by 10.5% to 104,000 tonnes across all Group manufacturing sites.

All UK sites moved to 100% renewable electricity in 2022 so we anticipate a further reduction next year.

2030 On track 33.7% reduction

Very strong progress across majority of our operations with the exception of our EOL Erith site which saw increased general waste due to significant project works in 2021.

2030 On track 27% reduction

From our base line of 2018/19 we have a TOTAL food waste reduction of 27%, this includes waste that we are putting to positive use, such as re-distributing for human consumption via FareShare.

Each year, we report our food waste to WRAP using their criteria, and from our base line we are up by 2%, this is against a backdrop of 2 factory shutdowns in Mauritius during COVID.

We are back on track this year with a 0.45% reduction from last year 2020/21 to 2021/22.

2030 Behind target 2.4% increase

Our performance in Italy and EOL Erith has affected our overall performance for the following reasons:

In Italy we processed a higher than anticipated quantity of tomatoes and exceptional heat in Puglia required significantly more water to cool products after processing.

Our seven UK sites have reduced water by 13% since 18/19 water required higher quantity to reach the same cooling results.

2030 Year 1 Not yet available

We are challenging ourselves to generate as much energy as possible at our own locations. Projects are under review, and we will report on this in more granularity in future.
