Dynamic Youth Award The Dynamic Youth Award programme meets on a Friday afternoon from 1.00-2.30.00p.m. This is a project based programme where young people can explore new experiences and gain different skills. The project is open to young people aged 10-14 years. There is a weekly charge of ÂŁ1.50 and this includes a small snack. Numbers attending this group are limited to 10. On completion of their project, participants will receive an accredited certification from Youth Scotland.

Group Meeting Dates: Friday 4th October to 6th December 2013 The John Muir Award The John Muir Award programme meets on a Friday afternoon between 3.00-4.30p.m. This project based programme and will support participants explore their local environment through practical activities. The award programme is open to young people aged 10-16 years. There is a weekly charge of ÂŁ1.50 and this includes a small snack. Numbers attending this group are limited to 10. On completion of their project, participants will receive a Discovery Award from the John Muir Award.

Programme Information September to December 2013

Introduction

Acoustic Guitar Classes

Port Seton Centre offers a range of educational, social and recreational and for children of primary school age. To participate in this terms programme, a completed registration form must be completed and returned to the centre.

Our guitar classes are structured in way that can support absolute beginners to those who have a bit of experience. The class run on a Wednesday afternoon from 4.15-5.15p.m.

5.15-6.15p.m. & 6.15-7.15p.m. for young people aged 10-16 years. The lessons are taught in small group of up to 6 participants.

This term we will be offering a 10 week programme and will cost £20.00. In order to participate fully in our classes it is important that participants have access to an acoustic guitar. Priority will be given to current class members, however, there are a few class places remaining. Please contact the centre for further information.

All programmed activities take place during school term time. As result, there may be closure during the October school break. Please note the starting date for all the planned activities.

There are limited numbers in each of our programmed activities.

Register early to avoid disappointment.

Some of our programmes require payment up front, however, in the majority of cases payment can be made on a weekly basis.

Programme Dates: Wed 25th September to Wed 4th December 2013 Drum Kit Classes

Programmed Activities Youth Gym Youth Gym provides supervised sessions for young people aged 11-16 years in a safe and welcoming environment. Induction will be offered to new starts, after which you are on your own! The sessions take place on a Wednesday evening from 6.00-6.45p.m, 6.45-7.30p.m. and 7.30-8.15 p.m. The sessions are mixed sex and cost £1 per session.

Programme Dates: Wednesday 25th September to 4th December 2013 Multi-Sports Programme

Our Drum Kit Lessons are delivered in small group of 4 participants and are open to young people aged 10-16 years. The times of the classes are 4.30-5.30p.m. and 5.30-6.30p.m.

This programme can support absolute beginners; however, priority will be given to current class members. This term, we will be offering a 10 week programme and will cost £20. A set of stick will be provided.

Programme Dates: Wed 25th September to Wed 4th December 2013 The Animation Club

The Multi-Sports programme offers young people aged 11-16 years an opportunity to experience team sports in a fun and supportive environment.

Uni-hoc, Ultimate Frisbee, Football, etc, are all part of this experience. The sessions take place on a Wednesday evening between 6.00-8.00p.m. Cost £1.50 per session.

This is a new, exciting project that will involve young people in the making of short animated films. This programme is open to young people aged 1016 years of age. There is a weekly charge of £1.50 which includes a small snack. Numbers are limited to 8 participants.
