A CAMPAIGN FOR PUSCH RIDGE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY SOUTH CAMPUS

Answering God’s Call to Serve Tucson’s Southside Children.
8

The Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) has increasingly introduced teachings that conflict with Christian values. Parents are left feeling helpless, desperate for an alternative where their children can be taught Biblical truth, morality, and a clear sense of purpose.
Families are overwhelmed as they witness their children being pulled into environments without
and be nurtured in God’s love.

OUR I M P A C T
Since opening PRCA’s South Campus, crime rates near the school have dropped, and there’s newfound respect for the "holy ground" the campus occupies. Our classical, Christian, Dual-Language Immersion (DLI) school is the first of its kind in Arizona and the United States. Through God’s grace, the campus has grown rapidly, serving 128 students in the 20242025 school year, providing a sanctuary where children can thrive academically, spiritually, and emotionally.
COMMUNITY
Community service is a key focus throughout the year. Our students, parents, and faculty have served the Southside community by supporting organizations such as assisted living homes, fire stations, police stations, Hands of Hope, and Caring Ministries. The South Campus has drawn families from across Tucson Sahuarita, the eastside, the northside, and local neighborhoods seeking a Christ-centered, DLI education. This unique offering meets a growing demand, as most of Tucson's established Christian schools are located in other areas of the city.
COVENANTAL COMMUNITY
Partnering with families to provide a classical, Christian education that cultivates wisdom, virtue, and spiritual growth, while supporting parents in raising disciples of Christ, with shared commitments to academic excellence, biblical truth, and a Christ-centered community.
LEADING THE WAY
PRCA South Campus is one of the first private Christian, Dual Language Immersion, classical schools in the US. Schools around the nation are partnering with us to learn from our efforts.
SPANISH & ENGLISH
Students who spoke only English at enrollment are now able to pray and communicate in Spanish. Our curriculum empowers students to learn foundational teachings in Spanish and transition to English.
MISSION
To teach our students to become like Christ through a classical, Christian education within a covenantal community.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, a classical, Christian, covenantal community in Tucson, Arizona, strives for excellence in our Kindergarten - Grade 12 curriculum across three campuses, teaching from a Biblical worldview so each student is prepared to engage the world with the Truth of the Gospel.
We are dedicated to creating a school environment where every child is seen, loved, and educated in the light of Christ. Our vision is to expand our South Campus into a full K-8 program, with the ultimate goal of becoming a K-12 campus.
Transformative HOPE
Our families join in prayer both in Spanish and English, living out their faith openly, providing space for spiritual growth, and promoting true partnership between parents, students, and educators.
By providing a Christ-centered, DLI education, we inspire students to become leaders who positively impact their their families, their communities, and the world.
The mariachi program provides a platform to share God’s hope through music, lifting hearts and spreading joy.
VISION for the FUTURE

“This new facility isn’t just a building, it’s a promise to our children and our community. A place where futures are built, and hope is restored. Together, we can provide a safe, Christ-centered environment where students will grow in both knowledge and faith.”
JONATHON BASURTO, South Campus Principal
BUILDING Transformation
This phase included renovation of the original building (including plumbing), four classrooms, indoor and outdoor play areas, a service kitchen, administrative spaces, family ministry areas, and the purchase of mariachi instruments. In addition, two modular buildings were added and a new facility with four additional classrooms was constructed to accommodate growth.

We urgently need $5,000,000 to construct a 12 classroom hacienda, restrooms, a sports field, and a paved parking lot for our students. Thanks to a recent $1.5 million pledge, we have now raised $2,180,000 - a significant step forward, but there is still work to be done. We invite our partners to build on this momentum and help propel us toward our goal.

FAQ
Asking parents for assistance is a sensitive matter. We recognize you already invest significantly in PRCA. We ask that you consider a gift of any amount within your means.
The first wing of the hacienda (Phase 2A) is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2026. This addition will include twelve classrooms equipped with advanced technology, a sports field, restroom facilities, and an elevator to ensure accessibility.
This project began three years ago as a direct answer to the prayers of many in the Southside community. By God’s grace, we secured the land and completed the initial phase of construction, creating the foundation for what stands today. While this has been a great start, there is still much work to be done. To date, we have raised $2.18 million toward our $5 million goal.
PRCA operates debt-free as a non-profit organization. While we are financially strong, our operating surpluses are not sufficient to cover the significant capital required for a project of this magnitude. For each new initiative, we rely on the support of partners who share our vision and can help provide the resources needed to achieve our goals.
Each year we add an additional grade requiring two additional classrooms. The vision in Phase 2A is to provide two classrooms for each grade from kindergarten through eighth grade.

Many of our alumni have stories crediting their success in part to their PRCA education. We hope your experience at PRCA prompts you to give to a new generation of Lions on the south side of Tuscon.
PRCA South Campus has made a profound and lasting impact on the men and women of the Tucson Police Department Southside Patrol Division! The mental wellness and spiritual fitness of these officers has benefited greatly from the love and support of the students, faculty and staff. With an active and flourishing PRCA South Campus, both the police department and the surrounding community thrive!
Dominic Flores, Captain, Tucson Police Department
Since joining [the] South Campus three years ago, our family has experienced profound growth and transformation. The [DLI] program has opened doors for our son, equipping him with the gift of bilingualism something we could not have provided on our own. Not only is he now able to communicate fluently in Spanish, but this skill has also broadened his future opportunities, enabling him to connect with and witness to a wider community for Christ.
My son Sebastian has maintained and strengthened his connection with God. He mentions God in everything he does and always mentions the love God has for us. Not only that, academically he has surpassed my expectations [with] what he [has] learn[ed]. He learned to read and write in English and Spanish and is always practicing his reading by reading signs or store names when we ride in the car. He was already a smart boy, but I feel his potential has expanded since becoming a student at PRCA.
PRCA South Campus provides the bridge between the faith-based community, local business, the Southside, and the TPD. They connect parents and kids with local officers in community programs to create partnerships and understanding. Principal Jonathon Basurto and the South Campus community have accepted the Tucson Police Department as part of their family. PRCA South Campus has facilitated the unification of our Southside community.

Becoming involved in our South Campus growth and development has been one of the highlights of my brief tenure of leadership at Pusch Ridge Christian Academy. What started as an idea less than five years ago has grown into a successful school with over 100
flourishing K-3 students, adding a new grade each year. So many parents have shared their gratitude to God for providing an excellent, Christian school in Tucson’s southside, but the blessing extends far beyond our PRCA families.
God is transforming the Southside through our partnership with churches, non-profit ministries, law enforcement, and other community groups to bring cultural change and positive values to the area. The PRCA South Campus story has also gained traction on a national level, as other urban communities are looking to what God is doing here as a model for Dual Language Immersion, Christian education. Our principal, Jonathon Basurto, and his team are on the frontlines of a movement that could have a farreaching impact, and I am blessed to be a part of the journey forward.
