Minimize Expenses

Review current supplies we are using and be familiar with its cost and that of similar products in the market. We may have been saving thousands if we just took the time and be keen enough to review the price tag of an item, an action, and even the costly outcome of not taking an action.

Adopting a realistic attitude about what we can do in the short term might be more productive.

That is, think revising specific tasks as well as specific roles and responsibilities. Processes and procedures can be restored with an eye toward simplicity and cost savings.

Aim For Your Goals

Cutting down resources does not equate sacrificing quality and productivity. Do not take your eyes from the target. Instead, use these focus to clear out unnecessary transactions, avoidable inaccuracies and repetitive processes.

Leverage on talents and resources to empower employees to fulfil their goals.

Go Green

So we are done discussing the five corporate values for the past months. Teamwork, Hard Work, Humility, High Quality and Honesty were individually examined on previous newsletter issues to provide us with a clearer picture on how we can intensify and integrate these values in our work routines. But we won’t stop there.

For a company as big as Emirates Healthcare we don’t limit our spotlight on these 5 values, instead, we bolster these values with many other work principles to create the best work culture possible for you, your colleagues and our patients.

You might have already come across comments saying, “Make the most of what you have.” Or, “Do more with less.” These quotes suggest resourcefulness. It’s already a given reality that no matter how big the world is, we will eventually run out of resources if we don’t take actions to 4

be wise and creative. Same thing goes with any given company. But the good thing about resources being limited is that it challenges us to I.M.A.G.I.N.E. beyond what is available to ensure that we deliver the expected outcomes.

Innovate Resourcefulness is not just a means of coping with deprivation; it can be a virtue that opens the door to greater accomplishment. It is not just about creating something new; it also applies to making old things work better. Reinvent yourself, your work stations and even your workflows.

Inspect all facets of your routines to see if all that you are working for and with are being maximized and equally essential. Scrutinize the old, slow and lengthy process and see if you can remodel a new, faster and shorter system.

It goes without saying that recycling, reducing and reusing make sense for the environment as a whole, but it’s also a great way for your business to reduce waste, create a greener, more efficient work environment while saving and maximizing resources. With active participation, buoyed by ongoing education and coordination, its actually advocating resourcefulness in another form.

Especially if you're looking to save on costs, for as long as we are not compromising patient safety and continuously upholding quality, combining your recycling program with an effort to reduce company waste and reuse existing products can be a smart business strategy.

Inspire Creativity

Create a platform where employees will feel good about exercising their resourcefulness.

Provide a work environment that encourages its practice. Design healthy competitions where this pride in accomplishments is being publicized and praised. Those who are resourceful need to be recognized and rewarded, and in turn, inspire imagination in others. Resourcefulness is not just about saving money or doing more with less. It’s all about using what we have creatively to get the best results possible.

New/Original It’s about problem-solving, coming at problems from a unique perspective and trying new methods to overcome difficulties. Every year something new comes out. Whether it’s something good, like a medical breakthrough or technological advancements, or something unpleasant, like mysterious natural phenomenon or new strains and varieties of pathogens and disorders. Let us train our minds to imagine new, original strategies where we can use these breakthroughs to our advantage and prepare ourselves for the unforeseen impacts of change. These happens at every level – when communicating to an angry customer over the phone, assisting a recovering patient and his family, optimising marketing campaigns, arranging follow-up visits for a noncompliant patient – we’re always thinking of how to beat problems and do things better with the available resources.

Empower Colleagues

Start with an open mind; redefine the possible and encourage workmates to start paddling the boat if the engine is not working. Being open minded about new possibilities is critical to putting resourcefulness into action. But outcome will be greater if you have support persons available to back you up in the process.

Step up and say “yes we can do this!” Push colleagues to do things that some might consider impractical. Lean on your staff. A resourceful employee doesn’t stand still and discourages staff to work more because of the growing cost.

Instead, encourage discussions about what the team can do to turn doing more with less into a practical process for improvement.

Resourcefulness is such a broad virtue for us to limit its definition. Well in fact, it’s against limitation.

Yes! Resources are finite. But resourcefulness is not. It shouldn’t be kept on reserve for when the going gets tough. Rather, it should be regularly integrated in our routines.

Phone Etiquette In Healthcare

As important as it is in any industry, proper management of phone calls especially in a healthcare setting is critical and ensure urgent concerns are handled, confidentiality is held with utmost protection, and general concerns are met.

To ensure that we are at the top of our game in terms of handling calls, EHG extends Telephone Etiquette in Healthcare Industry to Emirates Integra Medical and Surgery Centre employees last February 7, 2018 at their DHCC facility.

Human Resources Training and Development team salutes our employees most especially those handling transactions over the phone for representing the company pleasantly through professionally handled phone calls.

As part of the annual training facility permit renewal and the application to upgrade establishment permit to an Advance Life Support Training service provider, Emirates Healthcare’s Life Support training team, Ryan Rebeca (instructor), Jibcy Varghese (instructor) and Magdalena D’souza (coordinator), welcomed Mr. Abdullah Sudhakar, Health Institutions Inspector, and Zulfiya Hakim Mirza, Licensing Officer, from the Regulation Services Section of DCAS last March 01, 2018 in Al Quoz Administration and Logistics Office.

of providing services professionally and sustainably within a simulated environment for creativity, supported with qualified human resources and effective partnerships for distinguished services.

Apart from ambulance service regulations, DCAS controls life support training providers in the Emirate of Dubai. Other than meeting American Heart Association standards, training facilities need to meet and maintain DCAS approved guidelines to extend training to both healthcare providers and lay individuals.

The inspection team reviewed current training protocols and equipment to ensure that the training site complies with DCAS regulations and ensure that all facility partners across Dubai uphold its mission

Dr. Murrell, CEO – Emirates Integra, Chief Tournament Physician For Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships Emirates Integra Medical and Surgery Centre was the official medical services provider for the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in 2018 which was originally created in 1996. Our phenomenal, diverse team of professionals provides sport and integrative medicine, chiropractic, physiotherapy, pain management, podiatric, nutrition, urgent care, fitness, and comprehensive wellness.

This year’s tennis championships are the fourth for which Dr. William Murrell, CEO of Emirates Integra, served as Chief Physician.

For instance, female tennis players have a higher rate of hip and lower-leg injuries, while male athletes report a higher rate of thigh and trunk injuries. Generally, the rate of tennis injury is relatively low, as are hospital admissions. The common causes and types of tennis injuries include: • Lower limb (ankle, knee, and thigh) injuries caused by the sprinting, stopping, pivoting, jarring and pounding nature of tennis.
