Dear all There is so much going on at the moment in each part of the Prama Foundation family. 2018 is going to see growth from the seeds we have planted! I’m particularly excited about two pieces of work. On 18 May we are hosting a conference on Spirituality in later life at the Barrington. We have invited the Minister for loneliness, Tracy Crouch, to be a keynote speaker alongside Ian Coffey of Moorlands Bible College and Debbie Thrower from Anna Chaplains. We will be running four different conference streams. 1. Releasing older people into ministry (in partnership with Pilgrims Friends Society) 2. Let’s talk about death
(In partnership with Salvation Army)
3. Dementia friendly churches (In partnership with Livability & Faithworks) 4. Ageing without children
(Building on our work with AWOC this year)
Another exciting project is about to take off (literally) as we launch Prama Travel, an ATOL registered charitable travel agent, which gives all of its profits to the Foundation charity. Building on the phenomenally successful coach trips and holidays at the Barrington this will provide age friendly and dementia friendly holidays to older people, breaking down isolation and loneliness and providing opportunities to overcome vulnerability and enjoy later life. The Board of Trustees are also looking at the next stages in growing the Pramacare homecare services across Dorset and over the next few months we will be bringing some exciting new developments. Thank you all so much for the “above and beyond” that everyone does - Lives are being changed! God bless
