PramaCare is a not-for-profit charity based in Dorset. Our sister charity PramaLife supports local community activities for older people. It provides weekly activities, keep-fit, gardening clubs, coffee mornings, social groups and clubs for older people, those living with dementia and memory loss, and their carers. During the pandemic we have had a huge increase in volunteers, and have been running telephone friendship groups, offering a befriending service for older people and their carers, providing assistance with shopping and prescription collections, and helping older people feel less isolated.

PramaCare has supported the NHS, BCP and Dorset councils by offering care at no cost to the recipient for people as they leave hospital.

Retail during the pandemic We approached the

Sovereign Centre in

Boscombe about an empty unit and have taken on a lease at no cost allowing us to trade there during the centre's opening hours. We now have a thriving retail space there selling new goods and donated items, and while larger national charities have been closing shops - we were

To capitalise on the current trends of all things vintage, and as an alternative to fast fashion. Premium pre-loved is primarily a retail space for selling high end and designer clothes, kitchenware and books.

Our 'traditional' charity shops are at the heart of the community, offering opportunities to volunteer, donate and buy low priced items including electricals and furniture.

being able to offer a click and collect service and selling items on Ebay has made this model a huge success.
