TIMELINE Your first few months

INDUCTION You will have already received the details for your staff induction in your Job Offer emails. You should ensure all requested HR documents (see page 3) are returned before the first day of your induction in order to ensure you can get out and working as soon as possible.

YOUR FIRST SHIFT After your induction, you will be contacted by the Registered Manager (RM) to arrange your first shadowing shift, where you will be accompanied by an experienced CSW. Depending on your experience and confidence, you may have just one day of shadowing or you may have up to a month. This is to support you until you feel able to work independently, and you can take as long as you need if you would like to build up confidence.

YOUR FIRST INDEPENDENT SHIFT Once you've been signed off of your shadowing, you can start working independently. You will continue to have Staff Monitoring and Supervisions at intervals to support your professional development.

PROBATION COMPLETION Three months after your first solo shift, you will be due for your probation review with the RM. You will have the opportunity to discuss any additional training needs, whether you are receiving your desired hours, and the RM will inform you whether you have successfully passed your probation. If successful, your pay will increase and you can request a Guaranteed Hours contract (see page 5).

ID AND RIGHT TO WORK As part of our Right to Work checks, we need from you: - Driving Licence - One other official form of ID (e.g. passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate, adoption certificate etc)

DBS In addition to your ID, we will need to see proof of your address to accompany your DBS application. Proof of address can be: - Bank statement (within 3 months) - Utility bill (within 3 months) - Council Tax bill (within 12 months) We will also need your DBS form to be returned to allow us to complete your application.

REFERENCES The CQC requires that we get 2 references for all Care Staff, including one from your most recent employer.

OTHER IMPORTANT DOCS - Employment history - Starter pack - Car insurance (showing Business Use) You will also have around 5 hours of online training to do before the first day of your induction. Details for this can be found in your second Job Offer email.

PAY SCALES
