With a rotating menu of cup cake varieties, it’s no wonder The Cupcake Gypsies have amassed a local following with fans who voted the sweet shop as the best bakery as well as the best dessert spot.
Just a Pinch Bakery opened a few years after chef Stanley Martin and his wife relocated to Colorado and couldn’t track down their No. 1 food craving: kolaches, a tradi tional Czech pastry of soft yeast dough cradling fruit, cheese or even meat. Soon the Martins began whipping up their own kolaches, but as they explain, “It would be selfish not to share this delicious treat ” Thus, with little more than a dream and an oven, Just A Pinch Bakery was born. Today the Martins serve kolaches such as mushroom brie, green chili egg and strawberry with or ange cream cheese in addition to plenty of other bakery treats.

As a restaurant, you don’t reach 55 years old without doing something, or things, very right.
The Black Steer is a classic steakhouse with the ambiance to match. It is a cozy location where Loveland residents, old and new alike, go for an excellent steak. After aging in-house, their Natural USDA Choice Beef is cut and cooked to order daily; simple excellence. The per fectly done steaks are then paired up with made from scratch soups, salads, sides, dressings and desserts.
Steak might be their staple, but don’t discount their seafood. Trout, shrimp, tuna steaks and even lobster tails can satisfy any craving for seafood, but if you can’t choose between a go-to steak, split the difference and go for the surf and turf.
You might not expect a steakhouse to pay much attention to the greens, but once again The Black Steer proves itself exceptional in more areas than one. The Black Steer Salad is a meal unto itself with chicken or steak strips on a bed of greens, almonds and crunchy wonton strips topped with the house Black Steer dressing. Traditional Caesar, wedge and garden salads make a fresh addition to any meal.
