As we step into the new year, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible progress our company has made. Thanks to your hard work, dedication, and expertise, Poznecki-Camarillo has secured several significant contracts in 2024 to secure work for years to come. These achievements underscore our reputation as a trusted leader in our industry and reflect the commitment each of you brings to our mission. Congratulations to all for playing a pivotal role in this growth.
With this success comes the need to scale our operations to meet the demands of our expanding portfolio. As part of this effort, we are embarking on an important transition within our organization. The week of Jan. 13th marks the beginning of our shift to MyTech as our new IT service provider. MyTech, formerly TopBox, will bring enhanced support capabilities and streamlined processes to ensure our technology infrastructure remains robust and efficient. This transition is a direct result of our successful year and the growth we’ve experienced, making it essential to keep up with the increasing volume of work.
This transition will naturally take some time. One of the key improvements MyTech will introduce is an online ticketing system for IT support. Updates to company laptops will be rolled out over the coming weeks to enable this feature, and we appreciate your patience as this process unfolds. While change can be challenging, I am confident that these updates will ultimately enhance our productivity and responsiveness.
Additionally, I am excited to share that we are planning to expand our San Antonio office by leasing another workspace within the same corporate office building. This expansion is a testament to our continued growth and commitment to providing the resources necessary to support our team. Please look out for updates as they become available.
Looking ahead, I also want to address the unpredictable weather patterns we often face in Texas, particularly during winter. The potential for unexpected freezes, icy roads, and other hazardous conditions means that we all need to exercise caution. On days where precipitation such as ice, snow, or sleet is forecasted, I encourage everyone to prioritize safety when determining whether to commute to the office. If conditions appear unsafe, please use your best judgment and consider remote work where applicable and communicate with your supervisor.
In closing, thank you for your continued commitment to excellence, adaptability during times of change, and focus on safety. Together, we are poised for another remarkable year.

Elaine joined PCI's Operations team as its newest Senior Project Administrator. She brings with her over 20 years of experience as a contract specialist with firms like Legacy Engineering Group and as an administrative support specialist with Pape-Dawson. As a result, her expertise is in post-award contract management where she'll be reviewing and monitoring awarded government contracts. We look forward to having her expertise on the team! In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and unwinding in her free time. Welcome to PCI, Elaine!

Last week was an exciting one for the ENV Department, with a few team members achieving some notable firsts! Huge kudos to Travis for completing his first mussel survey with Zara Environmental on the Brazos River! Also, shout-out to Carolina for leading her first (and not just one, but three!) noise validations in Odessa! Awesome job, both of you!
-Jackie Lopez
Congratulations, Carolina! Carolina will officially be joining the WTS Programs Committee in 2025! As an advocate for advancing opportunities in transportation, Carolina is taking on this new role to contribute her enthusiasm to the WTS mission. We can’t wait to hear more about the exiting initiatives she’ll be part of next year. She also has become newly TxDOT Pre-Certified! At the time of this newsletter publication, she earned the following pre-certifications:
• 2.1.1 - Traffic Noise Analysis
“I’m proud to share that I recently completed the Alexander Briseño Leadership Development Program (ABLDP) with the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. I can’t say thank you enough to PCI and the direct support of Elizabeth Story and the entire PI department as I completed this program. Overall, it was an incredible experience that strengthened my leadership skills and deepened my understanding of how dynamic San Antonio truly is. The program provided valuable insights and connections, and I’m excited to bring what I’ve learned back to our team!

The public involvement team finished out the [2024] year strong with over 60 events held across Texas (there’s only 52 weeks in a year!) and acquired five new hires. The team was honored to attend and participate in TxDOT's second annual TxDOTCOM Conference in November. Key milestones in 2024 included our first interstate groundbreaking ceremony, our first public scoping meeting, and saying farewell to the Statewide LongRange Transportation Plan as it was adopted in July. We continue to raise the bar for inperson and virtual engagement of all shapes and sizes, and we continue to be flattered to see our clients and competitors "copy" our best practices...
...Thanks to the team for a marvelous year!

There, our PI team was able to connect with other industry leaders, exchange ideas for connecting stakeholders, and learning about TxDOT's innovative approaches to communications and community engagement.
In October, PCI attended UTSA's 10th Annual BBQ Cook-off! Team members cooked and served BBQ and Tere's delicious chili while networking with the next generation of engineering professionals! Thanks to all who supported the event before, during and after the event.
