Don’t miss this chance to connect, create new memories, and enjoy the magic of the holiday season together. Limited spots are available, with six (6) tickets per Member Account available. Children under two are not required to register. We look forward to celebrating the season with our South Service Area members. Don’t miss this enchanting evening – we highly recommend registering early to secure your spot!

FLO Ultra Fast EV Charger

Since launching our FLO Ultra Fast EV Charger at Junction 42 (near Penhold) on April 22, the response from the public has been strong and encouraging. In just six months, the charger has powered over 835 vehicles, delivering 25,819 kW of energy and generating more than $17,000 in revenue for our co-operative!

This early data shows promising signs of return on investment and reinforces the value of offering fast, reliable charging infrastructure in our region. As EV adoption continues to grow, EQUS is proud to be part of the solution by supporting cleaner transportation and providing meaningful service to our members, EV travelers and the greater Alberta community.

EQUS Supports Highway 791 Improvement Project

EQUS is proud to partner with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors on the Highway 791 improvement project, enhancing connectivity and safety for rural Albertans in the central region.

POWERING PROGRESS

The project spans from south of Highway 590 to north of Township Road 362 (Old Pole Road), and includes reconstruction, widening, and intersection upgrades at Highway 590 and Township Road 362. This vital corridor supports connectivity for local residents, farmers, and businesses across the region.

As Canada’s largest member-owned utility, EQUS is relocating existing power distribution infrastructure to accommodate the expanded roadway. EQUS crews are working closely with engineers and construction teams to ensure safe, efficient relocation with minimal service disruption for their membership.

“EQUS is proud to support the Highway 791 improvement project, which reflects our commitment to building stronger, more connected rural communities,” said Lauren Garvey, CEO of EQUS. “Our team is working to maintain reliable service while safely enabling these important infrastructure upgrades.”

Highway 791 is a key route for rural Albertans in the area. The improvements will enhance safety and efficiency for agricultural producers, commuters, and families.

“Highway 791 is a critical route, and this project will make it safer and more efficient,” said Devin Dreeshen, Alberta’s Minister of Transportation. “We appreciate EQUS’ collaboration in keeping infrastructure aligned with Alberta’s growth.”

This project highlights the value of public-private collaboration in strengthening rural infrastructure. EQUS remains committed to powering rural Alberta with reliable electricity and community-focused leadership.
